They should make a similar product like this one, that you put on your record and it would go round and round cleaning the record and getting rid of the static before each play, thanks for the video, that was fun.
I’ve actually been thinking about this lately. The idea in it’s current state isn’t very good, but I think you could take the concept further. Like, take the essential concept, gut the speaker so it’s just a Bluetooth transmitter, flatten the design a bit so that it’s thinner and lighter on the records, and you then have a super abordable Walkman esque record player, that could be sold for impulse buy prices to people who either want a cheap novelty, or maybe just young people who keep hearing about vinyl, but don’t want to spend $50 on a Crossly.
The demo device used on Sharktank utilized a magnetic cartridge and had decent sound. This thing was made in China using the same ceramic cartridge used in Crosley Siutcase record players.
I have an idea for a similar device like this, but instead of driving around on top of the record, you put it in the center of the record notched into the center hole. There would be a counter balanced arm that would have a tone arm and a cartridge attached to it. To start the music all you would have to do is set the tone arm at the edge of the album and press start. It would transmit the audio via bluetooth to a wireless speaker or pair of headphones.
Thank you Jerry, I have just attracted attention of investors in europe and on my way to prepare a prototype, so cool there are people like this that doesn't want any money for their ideas!
i feel like a smarter idea, while still maintaining some portability, is to have it so that arms containing the wheels extend over the record on either side of it so that it takes away the pressure on the needle and takes the wheels off of the record. they could also make the arms foldable so it’s still portable
Interesting video, but no way would I allow this thing anywhere near my jazz collection ( or any other genre as well). Thanks for taking one for the team though.
I ordered my RokBlok during the pandemic for a friend. Supply chain issues made me wait about 8 months. Waited all that time, Was so excited, and as the postman has it in their hand to put it into my mailbox......... They dropped it. You can't make this stuff up. The RokBlok was never right. Ha!
The idea in its current form could do with some tweaks to improve or enhance it. My idea is to take the sound data recorded into the vinyl and transfer it into a portable like device that can allow you to listen to the output whenever and wherever.
It was a bad idea fifty years ago when they first came out. Guy didn’t invent it. His only patent was for the blue tooth. They were junk when I was a kid and still junk.
this is so much better than your entire music collection of lossless flac music files on your smartwatch paired with head phones or bluetooth speakers. and it fits in your mc hammer balloon pant pockets too!
Product seems like a great idea. Portable vinyl player with Bluetooth capabilities. Just executed poorly. I'm betting one of the big companies like Apple or Sony could actually engineer something that works better.
It,is a fifty year old product. It couldn’t be fixed the first two times it hit the market. Buy a damn record player, and not one of them cheap crosley ones either
I was curious what they’re selling these for. $100. That’s a bit much to ruin an extensive, expensive record collection granted, like said in the video, could be a fun little thing, but I could but at least 3-4 records with that money to play on a good turntable.
I have a collection of WW2-era 16" transcription records but I misplaced my record player that will play them. They won't play on a normal-sized record player. Seeing this device made me wonder if this would make it so I could play/record these records. But seeing the damage it causes I don't think it's a viable solution for my problem.
thinking about getting 1, after watching this, no way i gonna torture any living vinyls on planet earth, what's the reason to have this thing just to play junk vinyls from thrift store? So that I can keep supporting the used goods community & keep hunting for vinyls?
An "error" happened while playing this video. When you listen to the RocBloc directly-indeed the Doppler effect -like listening thru a Leslie speaker system.Muscians like Leslie systems adds the effects to the sound of the instrument played thru the Leslie speaker. The Leslie has a rotating baffle in front of the woofer-for the highs-the tweeter horn is on a rotating turntable. The speed can be varied. The Leslie systems are highly prized-esp the ones with tube amps.Oh yes the tweeter horn turntable has a dummy horn opposite to the active one to keep the unit in balance.Keyboardists like Leslies-and a Guitarist I knew.
The image on the manual reminded me of the circular back disc of a small floppy disc, If you were to remove the stylus and replace it with a soft felt pad you could technically clean the record - basically as someone else has said, but this would be one you could make yourself. The reason it went haywire was because it didn't find the groove properly; the best way to avoid that - play the record from the beginning? Just saying.
So if the same box but the wheels in front and the needle on the back dragging, instead of pushing? Think it would work better and the principle of the record player without damaging vinyl..
Let's see... do I want to destroy the RokBok first or the worn records? Guess it doesn't matter; send them all to me and I'll use them for target practice!!! lol
Funny people say that it's just a junk copy of the record runner.....yeah most ideas came from one or a few products..there was most likely one point when o lying a few turntables had and S shape tone arm now that's like standard.
Got ripped off. Three dollars worth of material based on a fifty year old invention. As your video showed there is a reason these things failed the first few times n the market. He basically brought back yard darts
I really Iiked this product but after see n it broken down and took enough apart n how it worked sound sucks and it's made cheaply for 99. Dollars,so not getting n one now.

Genius!
That sounds like poop 😂

I have the design all drawn up. It would be pretty simple to implement.

@@kubix200prod so any updates?

I still like Cds
Great video! Saw this on SharkTank. Still laughing at the circle it carved out.
Definitely a record killer ! What were they thinking 🤔
They werent😂
I can imagine this thing playing in a China Town 99 cent store window. I didn't know that Jimmy Dorsey made a polka record, by the way. So rare.
Nice one.

dude made $500,000 good for him
plus 2 years on a 6 figure job
Plus royalties off every 1 sold after that 🤦🏾♂️
And 5 per sold unit@@buster5661
😂😂went on tv and pulled a $500,000 scam plus 2 yrs of 100,000+ salary 😂😂

Apple should use it as a demo for their new spatial audio feature.
Lol
I would not go near that, it's the Freddie Kruger of vinyl killers 😁
Best comment: "You know it doesn't sound good, you know it's amazing"
Don't think I'll be rushing out to buy one.
This thing is cool in concept but in practicality, you might as well throw your record in a wood chipper. Pretty much the same results.
better sound too
15:00 😂🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Karma! Should've tossed it out!

How do you even play the beginning of the vinyl? Also wouldn't those wheels scratch the surface of the record with dust and dirt eventually??
The investor from Shark Tank pulled out after the show. Rokblok made about 969K afterwards before disappearing , thanks to the show.
Interesting!

Dude do not do it.
They will be 78s which this doesn't work on

That's NOT THE DOPPLER EFFECT!!! Oh wait. Yes it is.
Thank you....
Hahahahhaha! I love your videos! Man-o-man, when that thing went haywire and carved that circle; I spit my coffee everywhere-thanks, from my carpet! 😂
Thank you for your sacrifices and make me save 99$ because is not my thing.
Where did you get the Bluetooth speaker?
Did he say 99 dollars??
He did
Is there a premium version?
Where is this place at and what is the name of this place?
Meow Wolf Denver
it sounds like you have a leslie speaker from a hammond organ
There’s a reason why people leave comments before the end of the video:) sorry

Sorry, but not cool at all, nor fun. Why not just run sandpaper over your records, and just hum the tune yourself.
Too smart of an invention for you eh
You have to elevate the record
Robert…not Roger. For $89 you can purchase a record player so not sure why I’d want one?
there is still a lot of flutter through the blue tooth
Let's see... do I want to destroy the RokBok first or the worn records? Guess it doesn't matter; send them all to me and I'll use them for target practice!!! lol
I have one of those 78 picture discs
It didn't go well for Techmoan
I saw 2 of these at the thrift store for $3.00….. for both.
Seems like a hunk of chunk. I hope Robert didn't really pay $500,000 for it
Absolute junk. The wow & flutter is tumour-inducing.
Uh-oh, next time use your Judy C LP!
I couldn’t find it!!!!
@@Recordology next time you're in the thrift store and you see a few, buy them so you can have extras lol
I just grabbed my head in my hands when the box tore a line through your record 😳
Nup, this is total CRAP made for muppets!!!
the record runner is cooler. this looks like a heat radiator on wheels in the box
added to my bucket list
It wasn’t good then. Why would it be any better now?
Funny people say that it's just a junk copy of the record runner.....yeah most ideas came from one or a few products..there was most likely one point when o lying a few turntables had and S shape tone arm now that's like standard.
Oh so original it is wood and has blue tooth. It’s junk
What's the wow and flutter on that? 😆 Sorry you got a doughnut on your record.
100%
I think maybe the battery wasn’t fully charged or some other reason that it wasn’t able to go at the correct speed
It looked like a great place to take magic mushrooms . 😃
Got ripped off. Three dollars worth of material based on a fifty year old invention. As your video showed there is a reason these things failed the first few times n the market. He basically brought back yard darts
$90 & WILL damage vinyl 🤔. Stop, just stop the madness……
That thing is offal. Lol. I would have burned it to ashes. I think the vw bus would be more fun to destroy your records with. 😀
Robert*
Robert NOT Roger!!!!! 🤦♀️
My unit broke too. This product is lame
I really Iiked this product but after see n it broken down and took enough apart n how it worked sound sucks and it's made cheaply for 99. Dollars,so not getting n one now.
So it's an 80 dollar balsa wood toy that's sole purpose is to scratch your records and make them sound like a broken gameboy.
That sounds AWFUL!!!😕😬😮😟😲😵
Wreckord player
This product is an absolute fail
It's a novelty, clever but useless.
it's a pile of crap and they have made these things since the 80s the inventor on shark tank just improved a garbage product he didn't create it
Sounds horrible.
