He became even more detached. I would like to see a story line where the brothers could have worked together and expanded their legacies
It's based all on fact, or rather real events because Ragnar took some of the achievements in the show otherwise would've gone to the sons irl. Can't change history.

Man Bjorn had probably the worst time of it. So many loses, losing Ragnar was worse for him as he actually was a teenager fighting beside him and learning for years. Watching and learning. But he saw him go from farmer to earl and then to king. And he was beside him the whole time. Wessex, Paris, always with him, the only one he trusted with the coffin trap to conquer Paris. And there to catch him before he collapsed on the way out. To Ubbe etc he was just Ragnar the old king but not to Bjorn. He respected Bjorn as a man, as his eldest son, celebrated his successes, and let him know harshly when he had failed. To Bjorn losing his dad must have been like losing the whole world. Since he could hold A sword everything he done was for his father, to him Ragnar was his king, his confidant, his teacher, his punisher, his hero, the most famous man in the world, and still also just his dad who used to chase him around the farm. Losing lagertha as well is what broke Bjorn.

Some people online were saying how they started to dislike Bjorn because he was always angry near the end. So I wanted to point out everyone he lost and all of the hardships that Bjorn went through in his life. This list will explain why Bjorn was angry. 1. His family’s home was destroyed, and they were forced to flee. 2. His father was almost killed. 3. His mother has a miscarriage. 4. His father cheated on his mother. 5. His sister died from a plague. 6. His parents get divorced. 7. He has to choose which parent to live with, his father who is an Earl and a very famous man destined for greatness, or his mother who did nothing wrong. He chose to live with his mother, breaking his father’s heart. 8. His mother is abused by her new husband. 9. He didn’t see his father for 5 years. 10. His uncle Rollo was almost killed in battle against the Saxons. 11. His girlfriend Porunn and first love leaves because of battle scar on face, but she has their daughter Siggy first. 12. He is reminded of and saddened about Porunn when he sees his daughter Siggy. 13. His daughter Siggy dies. 14. His friend Floki kills his other friend Athelstan. 15. His mother has another miscarriage. 16. His uncle Rollo betrays him and all of his Viking people by joining the Franks and fighting against the Vikings in Paris. 17. His father is heartbroken by his brother’s second betrayal, and leaves for like 8-9 years. 18. His father returns but is killed shortly after. 19. His friend Helga is killed by her adopted daughter. 20. His brother Sigurd is killed by his other brother Ivar. (Although Ivar didn’t mean to kill him) 21. His friend Floki leaves because he is heartbroken by his wife Helga’s death. 22. Ivar starts a civil war and fights against him with their other brother Hvitserk. 23. His ex-wife’s son from Jarl Borg dies in the Viking civil war, and Bjorn treated him like his own son. 24. His wife Snæfrid dies. (Although he didn’t know her very long) 25. King Harald kills his brother Halfdan in the Viking civil war. Halfdan was Bjorn’s friend. 26. Rollo comes to Hvitserk’s and Ivar’s aid with his army from Francia in the Viking civil war, once again betraying Bjorn and fighting against the people of Kattegat. 27. Rollo tells Bjorn that he had sex with his mother and is his real father, not Ragnar. His mother says they did have sex but isn’t sure if Ragnar or Rollo is Bjorn’s father. I don’t think Rollo is his father and neither does Bjorn, who is tempted to kill Rollo but doesn’t. 29. Ivar takes Kattegat from him, and Bjorn is the rightful ruler. 30. He has to flee to England away from his home Kattegat with his family because Ivar wants to kill them. 31. He takes Kattegat back from Ivar and finally becomes King, but now he has to live up to his legendary father. 32. Ivar escapes from Kattegat. 33. His friend Floki returns to Kattegat, but leaves shortly after to live in Iceland, and Bjorn never sees him again and doesn’t know if he’s alive. 34. His son Hali is killed. 35. His mother is killed by his brother Hvitserk (Hvitserk didn’t want to kill her, he thought it was Ivar) 36. He loses the election to King Harald for King of all Norway because Harald paid the other leaders to vote for him. 37. King Harald was an ally, then enemy, then ally, then enemy, and orders his men to kill Bjorn, and Bjorn barely escapes. 38. His wife Gunnhild has a miscarriage and their son dies. 39. Hvitserk fought with Bjorn against Ivar when they took Kattegat back from Ivar, but then fights against Bjorn with Ivar again. 40. Bjorn is stabbed by Ivar, and defeated in battle by the Rus. 41. Bjorn dies in battle but unites his people and defeats the Rus. After all of this happened to Bjorn, he was still a great leader and King to his people, and was one of the most legendary Vikings ever.

He was never more of a lover than a fighter, but he was great because he could do both. He could fight like a Viking and speak and think with conviction. Sigurd, unfortunately, got one side of the coin. He preferred to be more intellectual, play music, make love, he clearly did not enjoy fighting as much as his brothers. He wanted to fight with words. He wanted peace without going through all this war. He was definitely Ragnarsson, just not so much. He hated his mother but had her features. His personality was a mix of Aslaug and the “weaker” and lesser known traits of Ragnar. Compared to Ubbe, who looks and acts like the ideal prime Ragnar. But one thing, the life style kept them busy throughout the day and a good sleep when ever they are tired. They had plenty of desire to mate , produce children, enjoyed life without guilt and restrictions. No body tried to suicide for silly matters as they found themselves content and equal
