No, that is not why there are no Bruce Lee jokes, rather because Chuck was involved in real competitions and fighting and Bruce in movies where he looked perfect and by the way there are Bruce Lee jokes as well
+Daniel Podbereschi nah dude chuck Norris admitted and said when he met Bruce Lee he was amazed of his speed and power and skill. chuck Norris also admitted he wouldn't last a minute against Bruce Lee
And yet, we have ANOTHER world class professional fighter adore and praise Bruce Lee. If top people like Jim Kelly, Conor McGregor, and Mike Tyson talk good about him, then I will just totally disregard the keyboard warriors. I'll take the word of a world class fighter over them any day of the week .
Sugar Ray Leonard is exactly right! Sugar Ray was awesome too. Bruce Lee was so fast and had way more power per pound than anyone I have witnessed in my life. He understood body harmony and fighting like few in History ever have!
R.i.p.bruce lee the legend .one and only. I wish I had time to.meet u.but it was a honor to watch your movies and see u smile and be unstoppable the great .bruce lee.see u in heaven soon.
you can tell ray understands lee very well... both were fast, limber, flexible and explosive fighters. leverage and speed are the keys to power in gaining power, not muscles. but bruce was definitely an inspiration to all fighters, such an intense and fierce demeanor. he definitely transcended fighting style, race, or anything else as just a pure fighter.
After an expert magical boxer like Sugar says what he says about Bruce Lee, people should stop being stupid speaking non sense against Bruce Lee and read a little more.
That's a logical fallacy called an argument from authority. Basically you are saying if I can find another famous fighter to say Bruce lee was shite, I would be right by your standards. Why don't you stop getting your opinion from others and actually study Bruce lee's form. I'm not saying he's good or bad I'm simply saying your argument is invalid. You will be hard pressed to find something definitive that indicates a real fighting skill. What I mean is much of his "evidence" is parlor tricks that can be mastered without needing to fight. We also know by his own words that the only fight we know he had was a poor performance because of a problem with wing chun mobility. Bruce came from a wing chun master who could of destroyed him in 10 seconds flat yet no one knows his name. These are but a few questions that need to be reflected upon.
Jack Taylor you have fallen short of fallacies, you didn't even get to that level, you are before that, you lack basic language understanding skills, which in other words means whether you can't read or you don't understand what you read, I used the expression "after" meaning the end of a process, I know a lot about Bruce Lee and everything said by Sugar is just the end or a final affirmation this time from an expert, (which,by the way adds to what martial arts experts in general say), but Sugar is special he's one of a kind I saw him fighting, and so listening to what he says about how Bruce inspired him and what Bruce's abilities were is especially important. So, no, it's not a fallacy and,on the contrary, it shows what a poor reading ability you have.
+Neville Beater stop talking dude you are looking stupid with that gobbledegook you just wrote. Either give some real evidence or go away. You guys are always the same all mouth and no evidence.
Muhammad Ali and Sugar Ray Leonard have the highest regard for the skills of Bruce Lee so that trumps any of the haters with the 'he's a movie actor' nonsense. He was able to do what he did because of his skill. He also acknowledged Ali as a role-model as is obvious in some of his 'movie' footwork. Now we cannot see Bruce because he's dead but we know he was challenged constantly and no one is presented who beat him. If so we would know this person.
I can't think of a greater tribute to the memory of Bruce Lee than to receive the homage of the pound for pound greatest boxer of the Twenieth Century, Sugar Ray Leonard. Add to that the unabashed respect and affection of the world champion Chuck Norris and I get the sense that Bruce Lee's untimely passing left a mass of important transactions and creations undone.
Naw if he fought today’s MMA fighters and boxers, he could punch into their chest and pull out their still beating hearts and then he would harness and focus his inner chi to throw a HAIDUKEN fireball at them. At least, according to his fanboys
Sugar Ray, you're an inspiration yourself. Grew up watching you box in the 80's. You reminded me of Bruce the most with your smaller but built statute and your positive outlook.
respect for sugar ray one of a legend in boxing..he idolized Bruce Lee. .like manny pacquiao who idolized Bruce Lee when he's young and what can you say now they're both legend..and become a good human being like Bruce Lee. ....
Even Chuck Norris, the 7-time Karate World Champion, used to spar with Bruce Lee and he acknowledged he couldn't beat Bruce. Bruce was a street fighter and a grand master. He even trained Norris and other champions, and created another type of martial art.
curtis uwuigbe: Well actually, that's not what I recall hearing Chuck say. He implied that he could beat Bruce, because he was a 7 time Karate World Champion, and had all that accumulated professional fighting experience under his belt. I heard Chuck's son insinuate the same thing in an interview with Alex Jones, that his father would have killed Bruce in a real fight. Now I admire Chuck, and mean him no disrespect in regards to his fighting career, but I think he either seriously underestimated Bruce's abilities, or overestimates his own abilities. I've followed Chuck's career, both as a kick boxer, and as an actor, and have to say that he was for the most part, pretty one dimensional in his abilities in the ring, and as portrayed on screen all the way up until his late acting career. It wasn't until Walker Texas Ranger, that I started seeing some real diversity in how his skills as a martial artist had evolved. Bruce on the other hand, had proven himself to be a well rounded martial artist, even from the early days of his career. He had the right mindset, and all the necessary skills to have competed in the MMA years ahead of it's existence. Some highly respected martial artist, have even gone as far as to say, that Bruce Lee was the father of the mixed martial arts genre, and that he was ahead of his time. Even Chuck would tell you, that in a real fight, things seldom go as smoothly as they make it look, in a choreographed fight scene. I think he makes the the unfortunate mistake of disregarding the fact, that Bruce honed that incredible martial ability, in both actual real life no holds barred street fights, and through constant practice to perfect those skills. His entire philosophy in fact, on fighting, was to discard what was useless to you as an individual, and keep that which worked, and proved itself to be most effective. As Mr. Leonard so eloquently pointed out, with Bruce, there was no wasted motion in his movement, everything he did served a purpose, no matter how insignificant it may have appeared on the surface. Even now, when you go back and watch his fights, whether in film, or at tournaments, which he was not a proponent of I might add, as he felt that rules actually hindered, and impeded a martial artist, at expressing their true ability, and fighting prowess. But getting back to what I was saying, even now when you go back and observe exactly what he was doing, you'll spot the subtle clues, in often overlooked motions, that served a much more significant purpose. Whether it be a feint, to get a desired reaction in his opponent, or to set up his next line of attack, but often it would serve both purposes at the same time. Or whether it was the impeccable timing, and accuracy, with which he would initiate his offensive attacks, or defensive actions. Small details like this, are only mastered through constant repetition, until it becomes a part of what we refer to, as muscle memory. And much like any modern boxing match, or MMA fight, you would always observe a period where it appeared that he was both sizing up, and feeling out his opponents, before he would exploit the weaknesses within their styles, and/or the sloppiness within their technique. This was a quality, and a reality, that was rarely, I would even go as far as to say never seen, in a Hollywood action movie fight scene, prior to Bruce Lee bringing it to the American box office! Am I a fanboy? I would be lying if I said no, but I'm also a fanboy of martial arts movies in general, and spent many Saturday afternoons as a kid, engrossed in Kung Fu Theatre, which was later replaced by Black Belt Theatre, I'm pretty sure I've seen a significant number of Martial Arts movies in my day, some good, a few that were great, and many that were, let's just say, not so much. However, I can honestly say, I've never seen a Martial Artist, or actor, that could hold a candle the skill Bruce Lee exhibited!

It's part of the reason i don't care for Chuck. Watch interviews with Jim Kelly. He makes reference to having seen Chuck and Joe Lewis spar with Bruce. He said BRUCE was UNTOUCHABLE! Kelly was a black belt in several martial arts and witnessed many spar with Bruce.
Great video, always loved Sugar Ray and Bruce Lee!! its great to know that great athletes have such a profound for each other and the sports they represent.
There would never Ever be another BruceLee, easily imitate but never duplicated, everything he did had a Purpose in life n beyond! his philosophy still exists today in all aspects of life, from Sports, Career & in our daily Lives. 🐐Not only in Martial Artist, but also in Life.🙏🏼 “Knowing is Not Enough, we Must Apply, Willing is not Enough, we Must Do.”
CHARISMA and coming to America at the right time. More than his martial arts ability IMHO. Those two things made him the icon he is. Which to me (as a past fan since I was a boy) is amazing. Because he never competed and thus never a champion. That there is so much worship to this day. Literally millions of fans around the world. How world champions like SRL would be willing to "shovel" and even call Bruce a "fighter" even though Bruce never competed. Nor was he ever documented...in any fight...not a single shred of evidence. No photos, film or newspaper articles. Bit odd no?? Even in the late 60's early 70's. Amazes me how he has so many fans. Average people to professional athletes. All WOW'd by the image of Bruce Lee--which is actually a bit corny and overdone IMHO. :) To be labeled "the best martial artist", "legendary"....etc....one MUST be a champion at one time. To be "the greatest...."...I'd expect the him or her to be a champion in multiple martial art styles and competition. Able to fight another fighter's own style and still WIN. That is "legendary" to me. And do it with ease. How do we know how Bruce would have done in the ring? Or on the street? ZERO evidence. We don't even know if that "Wong Jack Man" guy even existed. Just story. Why did they have to rename him "Johnny Sun" in Dragon:The Bruce Lee Story??? So much in that film never happened. :) I have MUCH more respect for people who HAVE proven themselves in competition and WON. Like SRL, Bill "Superfoot" Wallace, Benny "the Jet" Urquidez, Joe Lewis (Heavyweight American kickboxing champion...supposedly the father of American kickboxing)...etc.Heck...Chuck Norris was 7x US Karate champion... Those guys were legendary. And PROVEN.
Anderson C good question let me ask u this do good people have recorded? And prove that they are good ? No records not the rich people donate it means they good than the one that didn’t show record doing good that’s the good people
When u are good u don’t need records to show recorded that U good so if u see someone record donated a lot u ever know they good or not the one with no record it’s damn good
@@concac314 the whole point of setting records is to prove you measure up. Everyone aims to achieve a record or certification. I was talking about having Bruce's so called fights documented. Photos. Filmed. Proof. Life is one big series of completions.
You can't deny that Bruce Lee had the speed and power to defeat any opponent; his conditioning and physical capabilities were insane. We all know that Bruce Lee is not a professional fighter, but that doesn't detract from the fact that he's a martial arts legend. Sugar Ray is a 5 division world champion who knows what he's talking about, and for him to admire and compliment Bruce the way he does only validates the respect he rightly deserves.
The reason why Bruce was not a professional fighter because as a professional fighter you had to obey so many rules (you can’t kick in the groin area, can’t poke your opponent’s eyes, etc.). In the real fight if you follow these rules, you’ll get killed. In Bruce’s younger years he was a street fighter in Hongkong and in those fights you only had two choices: you got killed or your opponent got killed. Bruce believed he would gradually lose his fighting skills if he trained too long for professional fighting.
In terms of talent, Bruce had it all and then some. No body can ever take that away from him. I would not be surprised that 200 years from now, people will still be praising him. He is and always will be a legend ... Bigger then Life itself :)!
GREAT ADVICE MR.ROBERSON.!!!!. I FOUND OUT THE SAME IN MY 60 YEAR LIFE .AS A JKD FIGHTER. !!!! NOW RETIRED FROM GOVT. WORK.!!!. BRUCE LEE , WAS THE BEST.!!!!. IAM ALIVE TODAY THANKS TO HIS (TEACHINGS FROM BOOKS & MOVIES.!!!.).😎🇺🇸👍💖🙏..
I have great respect for both Sugar Ray Leonard and Bruce Lee. I have done Tai Chi Chaun for 40 years so I have just a slight glimpse of how great these 2 men are. Thank you so much for up loading this. I had no idea that Bruce Lee was a Hero to Sugar Ray.
Put Bruce Lee in an organized fighting event and he can lose because of RULES. But put Lee in a street fight and Bruce Lee owns everyone in the UFC, Gracies included.
everyone in the ufc? dont be ridiculous, everyone who brings up rules as why ufc fighters would lose are retarded. they can eye gouge and kick nuts too dipshit. he would have done well in his weight class
+Drithe Bors If I was given a choice whom to fight in a street fight. I rather fight Bruce Lee than any other professional combat athlete. What makes you think that professional athlete wont hit you in the balls ina street fight?? They hit harder than any Bruce Lee choreographed punch. Don't get me wrong Bruce Lee is a legend in terms of martial arts movies. But thats it. He ain't no competitor who gets hit for a living. Gene Lebell ragdolled him for fucks sakes.
I am not going to challenge this room at all, ok? I am old and I believe Bruce was the real deal, but why do so many people punk him after he has been dead for 45 years. When everyone still argues about this guy, that must mean something, right?
You make a good point, but I think there is a reasonable explanation. Martial arts was dealt its biggest blow in the 1990's with the birth of Mma. For many many years masters where looked at as almost superhuman, all of them displaying the same kind of attributes as Bruce. Flashy kicks, lightning speed and a body made of cast iron. We all watched while these "superhuman" were exposed as frauds in the early UFC days. Countless master went to the Gracie open challenge and most where massive disappointments. People aren't so easily fooled nowadays and quite rightly expect more evidence. Bruce lee has no fight record he doesn't even have the usual laundry list of people claiming they beat him. The only fight that has some credibility was his fight with WJM and that fight was hardly a success.
+Anonymous you are clearly a fan boy. You diss fight records like they are meaningless yet you say that Bruce must be the real deal because a boxer says so. Wtf? Are you hard of learning. Bruce never had fights. The closest he got l to fighting was a bit of road rage. Chuck Norris said they never even sparred even though the story's of Bruce kicking his ass were legend. All the stuff I wrote and you come up with this nonsense. I apologize I thought you were an adult, no worries go back to your Xbox.
[PART #1] : Jack Taylor, Sir, you seem to come off as a know it all of sorts on Bruce Lee. None of us know it all. However, I have been a teacher of Lee's Art of JKD for 20 + years under Dan Inosanto and have researched the man whose Art I undertook all those years ago....very thoroughly for two plus decades. You apparently haven't. Lee by the way DID indeed have an official fight record back in high school when he won the interschool boxing championship in Hong Kong against much bigger white British/HK opponents in the finals. He had only been studying western boxing at the time he won...for less than a year. Please read below a long post I left a year or two ago to someone else who was much more arrogant than you...therein my more agressive tone in the post. Live and learn. Good day. ---> [ You, unfortunately, don't know what you're talking about. Lee was a streetfighter and those who knew him then and fought beside him, including Wong Shun Long and Cheung Ah Hing and others, who have stated that if Lee didn't get in 4 or 5 fights per day...then it was not a normal day for him. he also had a violent temper which served him in fights and lasted his whole life. That was a brutal temper that raged yet he could control it from hindering his fighting efficiency and accuracy and he allowed it to serve his fighting explosiveness and determination. He was like a tornado in a real fight. His brother Robert also has reiterated time and again on video interviews for 25 years that Lee was always in trouble fighting on the streets to the point where he was almost arrested several times but his father was well known and got him out of it. Hong Kong police records from the 1950's further show that in several altercations where complaints were made, Lee knocked out teeth, knocked out opponents, and in one brawl on a rooftop, broke a kids jaw and then broke his ARM. Add on top of this that Lee was a martial artist at that time learning Wing Chun and other arts. Add to that he WON the high school BOXING *That's western boxing..that's USA type boxing sir) Championship of over 20 schools that were in the running...by knockout in the finals fighting a bigger, taller British kid who was almost 6 ft tall. If you want records, that boxers name was Gary Elm/s. Lee knocked out one or it may have been two if memory serves me..of the other boxers in the finals leading to that final fight with Elms. Lee was a teen....and like Mike Tyson when he was a teen...Lee was devastating and deadly dangerous with his fighting skills. This was ring boxing, with gloves. Lee further became a ridiculously manic and obsessive researcher and practicioner of Wing Chun and Western boxing when he came to the USA, refining and honing his already good skills to the point that when he was seen sparring by a pro boxing coach during a Black Belt magazine photo shoot around the time of the Green Hornet which he was Kato in, the pro coach remarked that Lee had the skills of top pro boxer...or beyond. Now if you want to claim that his boxing Championship was only a HIGH SCHOOL championship, note that Lee had only a short time to prepare for it and still won it by knockouk/s...and further, realize that when Mike Tyson won the Junior Olympics, he was only a teenager. People can be LETHAL boxers when they are teens..if they have the skill and power and technique and speed. Lee had all of that, in spades...even when he was a high school aged young man. By the way, when Lee was living in California, he ordered over time, 300 boxing films (From a boxing film company in York Pennsylvania) which he came to own via getting them bit by bit in the postal mail. He studied these films RELENTLESSLY...OBSESSIVELY and even had his top students like Chuck Norris and Joe Lewis and other study them with him. He had films of all the GREAT boxers going back to the 1930's and then all the way to Muhammed Ali (Cashes Clay at that time was name). Lee studied everything and was a genius of movement and seeing between the movements and understanding angles etc. He got to the point where his assistant instructor Dan Inosanto has said on video interview that, " He could precisely immitate, duplicate, the footwork, handwork and strategies of any known pro boxer of 20th century US history; Jack Dempsey, Joe Louis, Marciano, Jersey Joe Walcott...Ali...any of them..but Bruce would refine their techniques and make them more efficient...make them better and then incorporate the core those things into his own style and methods of streetfighting. " So, yeah dude....Bruce was a boxer, a champion since a teen and also researched, studied, trained in, excelled at and KNEW boxing. Got that?
[ PART #2: ] Jack Taylor cont. ..... Let me correct a fact and also your silly remark that went with it, regarding Lee and his arms and hand speed. For your information, you are dead wrong when stating that Lee looked fast only because he had short limbs? Really? Well, let me correct you. at the height of barely 5'7 Lee had CRAZY long arms to the extent that other kids in Hong Kong teased him, calling him "Gorilla". He started beefing up his forearms with heavy training then to make his arms look less LONG. Dan Inosanto, Lee's top student and assistant and the only person Lee promoted to instructor level in all 3 arts that he created, stated, " Although Bruce was only about 5'7, he had the arm length and reach of a 6 ft. man." That is on video interview for anyone to hear from the early 1990's. But you don't even need that for proof..just LOOK at the man..in any clear photo where he is standing with arms at his side and it is VERY easy to see how damn long his arms were. So, his hand speed...was not just amazingly fast...it was INCREDIBLY, RIDICULOUSLY fast to be able to swing and jab so rapidly with such long ass arms. Another correction: You stated that Lee's speed and strength were never recorded? WRONG. Not only are his training diaries readily available and in hundreds of pages of his private training books (many available to the public in print form) but many MANY of his feats of strength are on video, such as a one finger with thumb pushup..on ONE hand....going ALL THE WAY down 3 times until Lee's nose touched the floor. He did 3 reps in demonstrations but could actually do 8 in his training. Furthermore, many people at different times who did know each other, saw him do things that when testimonies are compared..add up exactly. Such as, when at the YMCA in the US training, Lee would pick up a 120 pound barbell and stand with it in front of him at waist level and then MIRACULOUSLY left the bar straight up from the down position until it was out in front of him at shoulder level...with arms LOCKED at the elbows. he would then HOLD IT THERE FOR A 20 SECOND COUNT. This was witnessed by over 6 people at different times in Lee's time working out there. he would also do the same exact thing, one arm at a time with a 65 pound dumbell...again, for 20 seconds. He did pushups with two hands in the normal fashion for 20 repetitions with a 250 pound student balanced, sitting on his back. I can go on and on...and in fact, will. So, no record of his strength? And you say no record of his speed? Oh really? Well, there is his speed on film which is readily available for all to see and time by going frame by frame. However, even THAT is not true test of Lee's speed because he was asked by directors to SLOW DOWN his kicks and punches because they would just show as a blur on film. So what you see in his films...even the best stuff, is Lee NOT showing his top speed. And if you want exact measurement of his speed: He was timed with speed timer used by (Now PhD. James DeMille) where Bruce closed the gap distance of 6 feet with one lunge using a fencing push step in .05 of a SECOND. That 5/100ths of a second......that's 1/20th of a second my friend. So, if he was 6 feet from you...he could close the distance and clobber you with a strike BEFORE you had time to BLINK. Got that? His hand speed was also timed with the timer and he punched 9 times in 1 second..full extension straight punches, starting not with hands UP and ready....but with them down by his side relaxed. Got that? So he could hit you 9 times in the time it takes you to say "Fuck!". Got that? These were RECORDED times. OK?
For the GREAT Sugar Ray Leonard to go on record n say that Bruce Lee was/is the greatest? 1 should sit up and listen! I mean, you dont get such a compliment like that everyday. Fantastic.
Some people today like to doubt Bruce's credentials cuz he never fought in licensed fights. But the fact that so many actual legit fighters like Sugar Ray, Gene Lebell, and Chuck Norris all speak super highly of him and trained with him to learn something new shows that Bruce knew what he was talking about.
I am a retired fighter, not the greatest but a fighter never the less its my belief based upon Lee's own texts that I have read that this man new fighting, and whats more all aspects of fighting. You dont understand fighting (the intricacies and mechanics) unless you fight or have fought many times (styles dont matter, two arms two legs etc). I enjoyed reading NDorakus text above. I particularly enjoyed Mr Leonards comments he of all people should recognise a fighter when he sees one.
Props and respect to both Bruce Lee and Sugar Ray Leonard. Two heroes and warriors who never stopped trying to live up to their potential. We'd be lucky to apply a fraction of their example.
Well MR the movie birth of a dragon was about being in a real fight which he won in like a minute like his wife says the guy was running away also must not have readvhus books or did research there are a ton of witnesses that seen him fight for real or sparred him and lost not to mention he also beat up a stunt guy who challenged him
Fact: Jhoon Rhee is credited with teaching Muhammad Ali the “accu-punch,” a fact that Ali stood behind. The accu-punch is described as a blow that’s done instantly when no thought is given to it. It’s launched as soon as an opponent presents an opening. Ali said he used the punch in 1975 to knock out U.K. heavyweight champ Richard Dunn in one minute 30 seconds. Guess who taught this punch to John Rhee in the first place? That’s right: Bruce Lee.
I guess it doesn’t matter how awesome the fighter or celebrities who talks about Bruce Lee the comment section is always the one that’s the truth and seem to know better
Sugar Ray is a champion and to have him say things like that about Bruce Lee. That just blows me away. the amount of respect and humility that Ray has just shows you why he one of the greatest. I love Sugar Ray. Much respect. Bruce Lee is a legend
Nowadays it's only about women, money and fame. That's how a lot of my indigenous relatives in the states care about. If they gave their mind, body & spirit instead, I think their would be a lot more native athletes in professional sports
The guy who co stared with Bruce Lee in the green hornet said one of the guys who worked on the set, can't recall who he was, but he was in martial arts and he was petrified of Bruce. That's the words coming from Bruce's co star of that series.
Just because he wasnt a boxer doesnt mean he couldnt fight. That a pro like SRL and bernard hopkins can see the fighting ability of bruce lee says alot. Anyone who has done martial arts can see he had great timing, technique, and athleticism. People are just afraid of getting punched in the face so they project their own fears to ignore these special qualities and boost their own ego.
I respect both of these gentlemen greatly. Sugar was a big part of the last golden age of boxing, although it may rise up again. Bruce, as Sugar Ray said, is a icon.
I once heard someone challenge Bruce Lee on Enter the Dragon, bruce let the guy hit him and it was his turn, and Bruce made such quick and fast kick, the guy didn't even know he was kicked until he started smiling and all of the sudden his teeth started falling
Perhaps the only one with a similar kind of explosive speed & power as Lee would be prime Tyson... Chuck Norris had great ability, as well.. Just my opinion..
I am not taking away anything from the 'pros' but its a number of 'pros' who give Bruce Lee the respect as this video shows one example of it. Or are you saying Sugar Ray Leonard is not a pro? Given human nature, any such person in Lee's position would get challengers. He answered them. The people you talk about are those who get hit alot.
if bruce lee was alive when mma was taking place he would be good at it but yes bruce was not professional fighter but CUS D'amato wasnt either and he is considered a genius in boxing.. bruce lee was a genius in martial arts and if you apply some os his studies and techniques into your arsenal you will see a big difference.
Excellent comparison & 100% agreed. But wait a min, where is the proof of Cus fighting for real. No footage anywhere! Where's your proof? Teddy Atlas thought he was good, Mike Tyson thought he was good. But we don't have any proof so your argument is moot. (Rolling my eyes) these folks sicken me! Cus made Tyson better & Bruce made Joe Lewis better but I don't have any *proof* that Cus or Bruce could really fight. Hope you's got my sarcasm!🤦♂️
Just viewed Sugar Ray's Facebook tribute to BL on his 80th birthday... from the heart, Champ. SRL is also a great inspiration alongside Bruce and Ali. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Im not saying hes the GOD of martial arts, but Bruce Lee being "JUST" and actor or NOT a fighter are absolutely rediculous. When you have proven martial artists like Chuck Norris and Jim Kelly telling you that he was the real deal, not just some actor, and then the legend SUGAR RAY here telling you the same thing, you need to stop and rethink what your saying. Just because you dont care for his films or anything like that, doesnt mean hes fake. Bruce Lee literally changed the face of martial arts movies and martial arts in general as well as combatting racism and leading to a whole explosion in the fitness industry and nutrition industry because of how he trained and what and how he ate. When you take away the Hollywood glam, he really was a once a century type of influential person.
You say Bruce was incomparable? Well so were YOU Sugar Man..so were you. To this day-I’ve never seen a man move as fast as you did against fellow legend Roberto Duran in your second Fight. You were truly unbeatable against an almost unbeatable fighter.
Understand judging. Leonard KNEW how to beat Hagler. Understand it from this angle. Michael Spinks vs. Larry Holmes. Did you not know that despite Holmes being the hw champ that unless he KO'd Spinks he would lose because to win would break Marciano's record? OK, Leonard KNEW what the judges wanted to see and Hagler didnt. Thats why I said Hagler had to KO Leonard despite being champ because his opponent was a Personality the system wanted to push. He earned it by knowledge n execution.
Yeah, I understand that. I just wanted to get across that he didn't just practice Wing Chun as Chak V said. x] It's a constantly evolving martial art that truly is an honest expression of yourself.
U r trying to diminish him by calling him a dancer! U should know better. Sugar Ray Robinson was a great tap dancer and we know about Ali's dancing abilities. Dance is movement to rhythm. There is no physical reason that a great ballet dancer cannot thoroughly kick ass if he integrated martial arts with his dance techniques. I trust the people calling Bruce a legend and these 'dancers' show the moves that can be used if in a real fight without choreography.
Says so much about a Champion. Sugar you just nailed it Sir, to hear you speak of Bruce with so much passion just reminds me why I love you so much and why you are my favorite boxer of all time. Always good to know, 'great mind think alike'.
Anderson Silva is the closet fighter we'll get to Bruce Lee his movements an timing were very similar to that of Bruce Lee not to mention he to was inspired by Bruce Lee but i challenge anyone to watch Anderson Silva's earlie fights in the ufc an in pride an u see the Bruce Lee influence.
Yes, you CAN say now, because everyone is STILL talking about him, STILL comparing themselves, their styles, their capabilities TO him. That's what comes from being more than a champion, more than a warrior. You only reach that sort of status, where your achievements are still at the center of discussions long after your death, you only reach that when you have become LEGENDARY. 40 years from NOW, no one is going to remember these UFC/MMA "champions", but they will STILL be talking about Lee.
Bro chill. He was a complete fighter not an actor. 2nd to none i (along with many others) say he was and still is one of the greatest of all time. Im a MMA fighter myself with a karate back ground and as much as it pains me to say he would destroy masters of my art. Keep an open mind bro there are alot of things in martial arts you dont understand myself included.
TheMasaka01 Bruce sparred with many. Most i'm familiar with. However, there's no evidence that I am aware of that indicated these two sparred. I can also direct you to eye witness testimonies that determine the outcome of Bruce's sparrings, and it's not pretty.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 by fight training on a film set?😳😳😳 man you're are so sttttupid. You need stamina ,conditioning , and resilience to blows not just fancy footwork Go watch one of those cooking shows and stay out of real men discussions
Imaginen si lo dice Leonard que fue uno de los mas grandes boxeadores de la historia sino el mas grande.Ratifica lo increible que fue Lee unico irrepetible
+Manolito Calor well everyone got their own views n opinion n we can't force them to believe in something. all we can do is trust in what we believe in n stick to it
For those who think a professional MMA fighter or Boxer could beat Lee in a fight, you're terribly mistaken. He had the capacity to hit you multiple times before your mind would even manage to think of how to block him. By the time you managed to think about hitting him he'd already have thrown the final punch to render you unconscious.
Stop being so ignorant, just cos it wasnt filmed it doesn't mean it didnt happen, when the likes of jim kelly and bob wall said he beat them all and 'thats why they went to bruce for lessons' its as good as any testimony that will stand up in a court of law. Its not just hearsay, its fact. And cut the shit with the fanboy, any serious fighter or martial artist is a BL fan, u only need to know how many UFC fighters supports BL.
cont'd these street gangs in Hong Kong of the 50's were rival Gung Fu schools that students form clicks to represent their form of martial expression. Bruce Lee's knowledge of self defense was molded due to many battles with these rival street gangs. then when he moved to the states his street battles continued with him fighting martial artist outside of the Chinese martial arts. these incidents helped to shape his philosophy & understanding of self defense which was revolutionary at that time.
Their are a lot of Chuck Norris jokes. No Bruce Lee jokes. Because Bruce Lee was NO JOKE !!
Lol! Agreed!
>:-O OOOOHHHHHH
because he is dead. Why make fun of a dead man?
There's a reason we all still talk about him. Thanks Bruce, for everything.
Exactly...almost 50 YEARS after he died.
Agree!🙏
'He just didn't move to be cute','He moved for a reason'. True words of an expert about a legend
The top fighters from all disciplines that talk glowingly about Bruce speaks for itself. Those antagonists come here just to get a rise out of people.
blockmasterscott , that's a good point
because words from those whom faught and champs has more credibility than those whom fights eith their mouth or on the keyboard.

Sugar Ray Leonard is exactly right! Sugar Ray was awesome too. Bruce Lee was so fast and had way more power per pound than anyone I have witnessed in my life. He understood body harmony and fighting like few in History ever have!

Bruce Lee was by far the most phenomenal and influencial fighter of our era. He was a genius.

@@michaelbeza7469 good one!!
you can tell ray understands lee very well... both were fast, limber, flexible and explosive fighters. leverage and speed are the keys to power in gaining power, not muscles. but bruce was definitely an inspiration to all fighters, such an intense and fierce demeanor. he definitely transcended fighting style, race, or anything else as just a pure fighter.
Can you show me where in a real fight you saw lee express this intensity and fierce demeanour?
can u tell me why u here for
Oh I'm sorry for disturbing your delusion
This Comment Just made My Day 👏
He influenced nobody but the asian actors who came after him and young impressionables like yourself who were not even born
After an expert magical boxer like Sugar says what he says about Bruce Lee, people should stop being stupid speaking non sense against Bruce Lee and read a little more.
+Neville Beater Tell that to that big headed Michael J White
Yup people don't know he trained in wrestling and submissions. And boxing judo etc. The Total package in MMA. Before MMA.
It takes a legendary talent to truly recognize another. Much prop to Sugar Ray.
Then he later compared Jackie Chan to Bruce Lee 😂
I can't think of a greater tribute to the memory of Bruce Lee than to receive the homage of the pound for pound greatest boxer of the Twenieth Century, Sugar Ray Leonard. Add to that the unabashed respect and affection of the world champion Chuck Norris and I get the sense that Bruce Lee's untimely passing left a mass of important transactions and creations undone.
Conor McGregor is a donkey. He only said that so as not to alienate the millions of Bruce Lee fans. How could anyone know that?
At least Conor has had real fights unlike lee who only sparred then went to karate demonstrations to do one inch punches
Haggler was better than ray.

Bruce didn't fight to be labeled a champion in a sport of fighting. Bruce dedicated his life to martial arts. and that's how he should be remembered.
Naw if he fought today’s MMA fighters and boxers, he could punch into their chest and pull out their still beating hearts and then he would harness and focus his inner chi to throw a HAIDUKEN fireball at them. At least, according to his fanboys

Sugar Ray Leonard is the real Bruce Lee in the boxing ring.
Sugar , I don’t think anyone could have described him better . Super observation from you yourself a superb fighter .
Thank you SRL for setting the record straight. Bruce was exceptional.
There must have been something very extraordinary about Bruce Lee or we wouldn't be talking about him 44 years after his death.
Lol if he’s just an actor why they kept talking about him lol they hated Bruce especially tq
To be labeled "the best martial artist", "legendary"....etc....one MUST be a champion at one time.
I have MUCH more respect for people who HAVE proven themselves in competition and WON.
Photos. Filmed. Proof.

respect.. !!! bruce lee. says sugar ray leonard!!

When everyone still argues about this guy, that must mean something, right?
exactly
Got that?
[ PART #2: ] Jack Taylor cont. ..... Let me correct a fact and also your silly remark that went with it,
regarding Lee and his arms and hand speed. For your information, you are
dead wrong when stating that Lee looked fast only because he had short
limbs? Really? Well, let me correct you. at the height of barely 5'7 Lee
had CRAZY long arms to the extent that other kids in Hong Kong teased
him, calling him "Gorilla". He started beefing up his forearms with
heavy training then to make his arms look less LONG. Dan Inosanto, Lee's
top student and assistant and the only person Lee promoted to
instructor level in all 3 arts that he created, stated, " Although Bruce
was only about 5'7, he had the arm length and reach of a 6 ft. man."
That is on video interview for anyone to hear from the early 1990's. But
you don't even need that for proof..just LOOK at the man..in any clear
photo where he is standing with arms at his side and it is VERY easy to
see how damn long his arms were. So, his hand speed...was not just
amazingly fast...it was INCREDIBLY, RIDICULOUSLY fast to be able to
swing and jab so rapidly with such long ass arms. Another correction:
You stated that Lee's speed and strength were never recorded? WRONG. Not
only are his training diaries readily available and in hundreds of
pages of his private training books (many available to the public in
print form) but many MANY of his feats of strength are on video, such as
a one finger with thumb pushup..on ONE hand....going ALL THE WAY down 3
times until Lee's nose touched the floor. He did 3 reps in
demonstrations but could actually do 8 in his training. Furthermore,
many people at different times who did know each other, saw him do
things that when testimonies are compared..add up exactly. Such as, when
at the YMCA in the US training, Lee would pick up a 120 pound barbell
and stand with it in front of him at waist level and then MIRACULOUSLY
left the bar straight up from the down position until it was out in
front of him at shoulder level...with arms LOCKED at the elbows. he
would then HOLD IT THERE FOR A 20 SECOND COUNT. This was witnessed by
over 6 people at different times in Lee's time working out there. he
would also do the same exact thing, one arm at a time with a 65 pound
dumbell...again, for 20 seconds. He did pushups with two hands in the
normal fashion for 20 repetitions with a 250 pound student balanced,
sitting on his back. I can go on and on...and in fact, will. So, no
record of his strength? And you say no record of his speed? Oh really?
Well, there is his speed on film which is readily available for all to
see and time by going frame by frame. However, even THAT is not true
test of Lee's speed because he was asked by directors to SLOW DOWN his
kicks and punches because they would just show as a blur on film. So
what you see in his films...even the best stuff, is Lee NOT showing his
top speed. And if you want exact measurement of his speed: He was timed
with speed timer used by (Now PhD. James DeMille) where Bruce closed the
gap distance of 6 feet with one lunge using a fencing push step in .05
of a SECOND. That 5/100ths of a second......that's 1/20th of a second my
friend. So, if he was 6 feet from you...he could close the distance and
clobber you with a strike BEFORE you had time to BLINK. Got that? His
hand speed was also timed with the timer and he punched 9 times in 1
second..full extension straight punches, starting not with hands UP and
ready....but with them down by his side relaxed. Got that? So he could
hit you 9 times in the time it takes you to say "Fuck!". Got that? These
were RECORDED times. OK?
Class act sugar Ray nobody could have said it better.
Sugar Ray is another legend - he fought with the spirit of Bruce Lee❤
Sugar Ray is a phenomenal human being. He's the champ! That's just how I view him. He's the champ!
My boxing idol speaking on my martial artist idol. This is a saved video for me to show my kids. Real Talk!
Chaka943.....Lee trained 3 WORLD CHAMPION MARTIAL ARTISTS back in the day. PROOF enough that Bruce Lee was for real.
Love the interview sugar Ray Bruce Lee changed my life sifu jack
Props and respect to both Bruce Lee and Sugar Ray Leonard. Two heroes and warriors who never stopped trying to live up to their potential. We'd be lucky to apply a fraction of their example.
Bruce lee had uncanny timing so with that being said ,it would have been very hard to get near him to attack.
What brought you to this conclusion, a real fight you saw lee in or watching one of his films that was choreographered?
Well MR the movie birth of a dragon was about being in a real fight which he won in like a minute like his wife says the guy was running away also must not have readvhus books or did research there are a ton of witnesses that seen him fight for real or sparred him and lost not to mention he also beat up a stunt guy who challenged him
It really is about his timing.
A killer knows a killer-a fighter knows a fighter !
Nice words from a legend to another legend - I’m a fan of both.
Fact:
Jhoon Rhee is credited with teaching Muhammad Ali the “accu-punch,” a fact that Ali stood behind.
Wrong
I miss you Bruce !
Thanks Chris Brilliant Video
BRUCE LEE IS INDEED THE BEST THAT IVE EVER SEEN...
sounds gay
oh nigga you gay
@@chadalphamale5618 stfu
I guess it doesn’t matter how awesome the fighter or celebrities who talks about Bruce Lee the comment section is always the one that’s the truth and seem to know better
"be water my friend"
100%
I once heard someone challenge Bruce Lee on Enter the Dragon, bruce let the guy hit him and it was his turn, and Bruce made such quick and fast kick, the guy didn't even know he was kicked until he started smiling and all of the sudden his teeth started falling
khon r another fairytale from the Leeites.
Bruce Lee one the open mind ,very kind, most fair Asian man, i ever heard. You know i wish i met kaydo!🌀🌀🐔🐟🌊🌊🌀🌛🌖🌖🐋🏬🌀🌈🐟🏭🐖✈🏩
Perhaps the only one with a similar kind of explosive speed & power as Lee would be prime Tyson... Chuck Norris had great ability, as well.. Just my opinion..
heart warming see one of the greatest boxers of all time speaking of an idol with such reverence... a lesson in staying balanced...
I WOULD OF LOVE TO FIGHT BRUCE LEE JUST TO SAY I DID IT RIP CHAMP
What makes you think you would have survived the fight?
Sugar ray is like bruce lee one of a kind , great to hear like myself he was so inspired by bruce!
My favorite boxer of all time gushing about my idol and inspiration for starting martial arts, now that is great video right there!
This video has been approved by Chuck Norris
I think both of these man are great 👍🏼 artists in what they do and did. To me both are my inspiration 😎🎸
if bruce lee was alive when mma was taking place he would be good at it but yes bruce was not professional fighter but CUS D'amato wasnt either and he is considered a genius in boxing.. bruce lee was a genius in martial arts and if you apply some os his studies and techniques into your arsenal you will see a big difference.
Very well said. Great admiration for Bruce and Sugar Ray from childhood. Of which continues today.
When you combine the powerful mind, martial arts talent, and physical strength of Bruce Lee, you can become invincible!
Silva was a real fighter who fought under stressful and painful conditions
Lee has never fought an elite fighter under combat stress
Keep an open mind bro there are alot of things in martial arts you dont understand myself included.
couldn't have said it better SUGAR RAY .... YOU AND BRUCE ARE ALWAYS MY HERO'S
i think bruce would have been able to beat most if not all UFC fighters of any weight class.
In his weight class for sure.
no.
He hit harder than someone twice his body weight, according to eye witness testimonies.
TheMasaka01 No he didn't. Gene was teaching him grapples. There's a difference between being taught. and having a spar. Don't twist reality.
TheMasaka01 Bruce sparred with many. Most i'm familiar with. However, there's no evidence that I am aware of that indicated these two sparred. I can also direct you to eye witness testimonies that determine the outcome of Bruce's sparrings, and it's not pretty.
bruce lee will be remembered and respected for hundreds of years if we are here that long.
bruce can beat any boxer because of its footwork and reflexes
Bruce beat many high level boxers. He made a habit of inviting them to work out.
😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣 by fight training on a film set?😳😳😳 man you're are so sttttupid. You need stamina ,conditioning , and resilience to blows not just fancy footwork
Go watch one of those cooking shows and stay out of real men discussions
no he said himself that Ali would kill him
No... no he wouldn't. I love Bruce Lee but some of you fan boys need to drop this fantasy that he was this unstoppable force of nature.
Mr Controversial, you're just a youtube troll. None of your comments have an ounce of validity. Just a bunch of troll-bait.
Imaginen si lo dice Leonard que fue uno de los mas grandes boxeadores de la historia sino el mas grande.Ratifica lo increible que fue Lee unico irrepetible
he was good but separate movies from reality
another idiot. . . . he fought underground fights against masters. .
+Manolito Calor well everyone got their own views n opinion n we can't force them to believe in something. all we can do is trust in what we believe in n stick to it
Apangben Aier where is the proof he fought. It's all fairytales from the Leeites.
