- How To Talk To People - Bruce Lee Charisma Breakdown (Part 2)
Get the 4 emotions you need to make a great first impression every time: bit.ly/2ENXoza
Learning how to talk to people is a super important skill, but one we are never taught in school. In fact, sometimes we get so wrapped up trying to make small talk that we lose the opportunity to really connect with someone. Bruce Lee doesn't make that mistake in this interview.
This video will show you how to talk to people and how to lead a conversation towards topics that make you more likely to make a lasting connection. There are lots of ways, but this is one that will present itself as soon as the other person starts asking questions. You'll be able to build rapport quickly and potentially walk away with a new friend.

"All knowledge ultimately means self-knowledge"
Bruce Lee: Dropping 1000s years wisdom at Moment's notice, in response to a simple question.
Philippe Augustine..i read his book. I have multiple quotes memorized. Let's see, eh, the inability of one to attain self esteem is what shakes the world to its foundations. What he's saying here is don't be fooled by the need for serif esteem through achievements first and foremost. Stand tall in YOUR individual truth and you'll never have to count on others respecting you through your need for self esteem. This is knowing your innermost self. It is true maturity free of childish behaviors surrounding us daily. That is, rely on self knowledge, this means standing tall in the void between this and that..in your truth with live and kindness for all. Sorry, got carried away..laugh a little..or..lal.
It's a 🐉 vibration

Honestly expressing oneself is very hard to do. He is honestly expressing himself.
Bruce lee was ahead of his time
We out here in 2017 and dis dude already over at 3025 tf
He was ahead of ALL times.
@@Hadoken. I know his time . It is 30020billion hahaha
Doesn't matter if he was ahead of some time period because the next time period had no equal and millions of people had the time and knowledge BEFORE to create inspirational martial arts , so the "time period " had nothing to do with him . It was accumulation of information , wisdom and inner awareness that had then and now , that nobody has matched . No my son , time belongs to Bruce Lee .

Bruce Lee was a true philosopher!
Lee was a FANTASTIC HUMAN BEING & MARTIAL ARTIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Somebody once said "The Brightest stars Usually burn out the quickest... :)
Clifford Starks A philosopher, a fighter , an artist all combined into one .
He was a pathetic wood breaker
@Jack Mehan Taking drugs and being unfaithful makes you a terrible human being? Stop it now.
Clifford i love his philosophy
I am a 100% sure Bruce changed the interviewer's outlook on life after this conversation. Anyone who was lucky enough to have a conversation with this man.
randomjester That’s Pierre Burton, one of Canada’s greatest writer and thinker. He was probably expecting interesting answers from Lee.
Drunken Hobgoblin his questions were very basic and elementary. 😂
meaning everyone even a baby could understand the greatest men in history are always moderate, humble and simplistic.
I read that Pierre Burton did say that Bruce Lee was (probably/was) his most memorable interview. Lee grew up with the camera, being a child actor; and from there he probably learned/adapted what he learned from guys like Steve McQueen and James Coburn. Basically, he applied his Jeet Kune Do to charisma. Winston Churchill was magnetic because of his voice, etc. I think BL also had that quality. Plus, he was the real thing in regards to 'real fighting' --- if someone challenged him about fighting, he was glad to point out the guy's mistakes. If he and Muhammad Ali were being interviewed at the same time, even the Greatest would've had to pause now and then. Of course, Lee would be happy if he influenced others to be magnetic.
Well, he was way beyond most Westerners at that time, in terms of morality, talent, martial arts, and more. Without question, he enriched the lives around him. I agree with you.
this is what Bruce lee refers to when he says "be like water". he is being very fluid and flexible that all you can do here is following his flow. great analysis!
Hela Sanaa..a Bruce Lee femme follower..wow wow wow..lol..hi hi!
The man was really a MAN.
No he meant that if you but 100% focus on something and belive that you are something and repeating the thing you wanna be it becomes your reality he wanted to be water because he can be whatever he wants to Be. Stop sharing false facts about that Thanks:)
Really great Bruce Lee. why you know ?100 percent tray
I like your response
Such limiting questions. Such expansive answers.
you get it
Interviewer looks like a founding father
Haaaaaaaaa hahhaha

Eddie Bravado 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂Dead! I didn't notice until I read your comment. 💀💀💀😂😂
Why do people think he can't speak English. HE is perfect at it
One great story is when BL was a student in Seattle university. This was told by his former girlfriend: "I was walking by the door, and there was Bruce in front of the empty classroom. In the chair in front of him, the philosophy professor (famous in his field) was in rapt attention as Bruce expounded on Chinese philosophy and the martial arts." (paraphrase)
better than me and I was born in america :/
Honestly I think it’s cause he’s better at it then some native speakers 😱😱

How to answer interview questions, the Bruce Lee way
Bruce Lee was a badass
💜🖤
I used to have alot of these qualities.
Used to be very clear and well spoken.
Up until i started suffering from depression and social anxiety.
This definitely brought me back.
Many thanks and much love.
How are you doing now?
Far out, looks, charisma, intelligence, and sincerity all in the one package
A man ahead of his time!
To become, you have to see yourself in it.
Bruce Lee has been my hero since I was a kid
I am a huge Bruce Lee fan, for so many reasons, he has been an inspiration to me in some of my tougher moments. As a result I have watched this interview a dozen times, it's really the only one out there of him being video taped. Bruce has always had a magic about him, his rawness in self-expression is magnetic. That is probably why I have watched this video so many times. However, after watching it with your commentary I did not realize all the little details about Bruce's magic. To my surprise I found it pragmatic when I incorporated some of these ideas into my conversations with friends and co-workers. Thank you so much for this!
+Slicc7 Bruce is the man! Glad this video helped you codify what was so special about him :-)
Same here to your comment I am a ditto of this lol omg
Imagine learning Chinese and being able to answer questions from a Chinese interviewer in such an expressive and sophisticated way. The man was so damn smart.
I like how he's the one who controls the whole interview instead of the guy interviewing him
Please MORE Bruce Lee!
This is not about frame control or anything like that, this is Bruce Lee expressing himself honestly and completely.. he is being himself, and it is just the way he is.
This guy is poetic, elegant, and beautiful in every way, not only when he is talking..
Just look at his movies, look at the way he moves, his choreography, everything.
Some people are just born with such natural charisma.. you can almost see the chakra and energy around him.
He was a small dude, but his energy was enormous, made him look so big.
this kinda video usually over-analyzes things, its kinda annoying. it's like when you drink a cup of water, somebody can make a full video out of how you drink that water in a healthy or wrong way.
Some people just do it subconsciously. They are naturally strong and charismatic.
The point is that most people would just answer a question without considering or pointing out if they really agree with the subtext of that question. And if they do that they leave out a good chance to show people who they are and what they think, but they also project a faulty image of themselves that they often don't even want to project.
People like Bruce Lee on the other hand instinctively notice these subtexts at once and are confident enough to point out what they really think about a topic. Another aspect is that people like him know themselves well enough to respond quickly. People, who don't know themselves and their stands this well or never considered something often haven't really thought about it before and don't have the time to consider what they actually think or believe in the middle of a conversation. So they just go along.
So yes, I think it's an interesting video.
@@Waterbug1591 go back to sleep then if you dont want your lazy preconceptions disrupted
What is chakra?
“Made him look so big” lmfao no, he looked small, but was truly big. Man had monster physique
He talks with powerful conviction.
GREAT POINT!
Lighting fast hands to go with his razor sharp mindset, he was too much of a lethal weapon for any man.
I was blessed to see Bruce Lee in person in Washington DC in 1968 do his twenty minute demonstration at the Jhoon Rhee National Karate Championship featuring Joe Lewis defending his heavyweight championship. His confidence and charisma was off the charts. He was beautiful to watch. Thanks Joe West.
❤️❤️ long live the memory.
he is so handsome!!
Ofcourse, he is ! No doubt.
1 of the 3 people in this world I truly admire and respect !
“If you put water in glass it becomes glass,
If you put water in bottle it becomes bottle,
If you put water in cup it becomes cup’
Be water my friend”. Bruce Lee.
If you put water to your friend, it becomes your friend.
La Vendetta A hydrated friend is always better than a dead friend
@@_fakeredhed_7296 I think an oxygenated friend is better.
Bruce Lee was such a complex and impulsive character, he liked to philosophize and teach, and there was a lot more to him than just a great martial artist.
interesting, that now today when you try to teach wisdom or just speak your philosophy they make fun of you by calling you "woke" I really wonder if they killed Bruce Lee cause he was way too wise. Wisdom and truth is the absolute weapon against corrupted minds.
Berton said that Bruce Lee was the best interview he ever did and he was the most intense person he ever met.
The man was unique and had friends from every nationality embraced others. I see myself as a human being. Amazing.
Bruce Lee is not only a great fighter but also a great spiritual practitionner
Frame control is brilliant, it is simple yet powerful
Bruce Lee was so intense and so good at selling his craft, even if you weren't into martial arts, he has a way of getting anyone to listen intently to him
Agreed with everything you said and I saw this interview as well a couple years ago and was similarly impressed. One key, though, is that Bruce Lee, did, in fact, have a guiding philosophy that was not at all contrived and very authentic to who he was as a person. So, I think another element in charisma is to have, deep, abiding values and to return (an honour) those as touchstones always. He also mentioned in another clip, in this same interview, how honestly expressing oneself (which he believed to be at the heart of martial arts) is actually very, very difficult to do and you have to train yourself - much like you are doing and sharing in these videos. I enjoy them by the way and your authenticity also comes through.
Thanks! Keeping it real :)
George Drazenovich .mastrfully.written.the great bruce lee would without doubt...approve of you has a human being.and a student.
Lovely comment!! 💕
OMG! I really felt that how
Bruce Lee actually nailed this conversation. As we can see that he was always ready to overcome difficulties and challenges.
He was tough and went through it.
The level of his seriousness was over 9000!!!!😲😲😲. Just look at his Simultaneous replying skill set.
True Leader! RIP.
He was an amazing human being( at least from what I have read and seen )
The Wisdom and Inner Thinking of Bruce Lee Was On Such a Level That Very Few Operate In Today!
What he says is just as relevant now as it was back then. The man had amazing talents, both physically and philosophically. We sure could use someone like him in this day and age. He left us way too soon.
Bruce Lee was a beautiful person. Very strong in so many ways. We are blessed to have such golden people like this among us.
What an eloquent man. A true champion in every way.
Honestly, this is the channel I've been waiting for my whole life. I am truly pathetic in conversation, probably due to trauma in my early childhood, but have always been looking for the moment when maybe I can catch up a little to my peers in a social sense. Now I have to be able to use these skills in real life...
Title should be how to handle an interview like a boss!
Well a big part of his charisma is that he was fine a'f
I didn't know the side of bruce lee personnality. actually i never saw one of his interviews. It's really interesting.

RIP Muhamad Ali
I just came from Ali”s video and it’s amazing how night and day he and Bruce Lee are . Yet both charismatic
What an amazing being Bruce was. I can see why he didn't last long, such an influential figure for the world. I see that questions driven to divide, "who is better?", "do you consider yourself Chineese or North American?"...are questions putting him in a position to pick a side, which is a tactic used by those who want to keep large groups in control. You either with me or against me, tricks one into thinking they must chose a side or else. That this is the way it's always been, picking sides and fighting one another. The way Bruce responds to the final question is the antithesis of how everyday social conversations are driven where one is always put in a position to take a side. He says "under the heaven there is but one family" is not the response the interviewer intended to get. The interviewer obviously does not know what Bruce's response to that question would be. He is driven to ask questions like this because it's what most media is designed to do. Divide. Look up "project mocking bird" so you can have a better understanding of how public discourse is driven to divide us all world wide. Bruce is right, we are a big family under the heavens, but those that wish to control the masses at all cost do not wish for all to think and live in this manner.
He is the genius I have no words to define this guy respect bruce
I love the way he grits his teeth and raises his eyebrows
Bruce Lee was in total control of the entire interview. He led the interview instead of allowing himself to be distracted by the questions themselves and become the subject of the interview. See what he did there? That's a true alpha, a real leader. Denzel Washington is very similar in that way.
This is all well and nice, but the question is why is the interviewer a 19th century time traveller?
XD
Looks like Mozart or Beethoven.
George Washington :P Mozart had a pony tail-like wig and Beethoven had a very crazy hairstyle :P
Looks like a puritan from Salem.
The interviewer was Canadian Pierre Berton hosting his own show. He was famous in Canada for his writing and for for his appearances on TV show Front page challenge which ran from 1957-95. My understanding is that this is the only full interview with Bruce Lee existing. It was done in 1971.
Always my idol. This guy is the best athletic, best fighter ever no matter some others think.
THANK YOU for covering Bruce Lee's charisma in your series. I read his biography when I was 13, and always knew that he was one of those people that "commanded attention" even in the most crowded rooms, but never knew HOW he did it.
This man definitely left far too soon...The world needed more of his thoughts and outlook on humans and life.
What a voice what an arrangement and choice of words , Bruce we miss you buddy.
Bruce was fascinating. Deep thinker. A life cut too short, but in that is a teaching that we must be the best that we can be with the limited time we have on this earth.
Instantly my favorite video. I watched this old interview when I was younger, and now I feel like I'm dissecting it. Which by the way really helps in writing a personal statement. Thanks.
Bruce lee is such a guy that everything is good in him, truly a special person and wonderful and helping human being, legends never die ❤️
This man...i just now realized english is not his first language, but his vocabulary and the way he’s able to put those words in a sentence without stuttering is astounding. I can only admire
Bruce Lee had such an awesome soul that will live on forever. As someone who owns a business and does sales, I need this. Grew up as a timid and soft-spoken and introverted person who was always around long-winded and highly opinionated people especially in my family. The woman I'm with today is the first person in my life to ever encourage me to make my voice heard. At Age 40, I've been observing...myself...in "conversations" (which usually end up being monologues which you do all the listening while the other person talks endlessly and values little to none of your input)...and want to change it. If I'm going to be successful in my endeavor, I need to learn how to be in control of the conversation and avoid being walked and talked all over or pushed out of the way and get better at dealing with pushy aggressive personality types when I encounter them. A challenge that needs to be overcome. Thank you for this.
Do not stop making these videos. Your interpretations and new ideas are spot on and you use excellent case studies to back it up. Excellent channel.
+D5 DIRT Glad you like it! I'm committed to creating at least a video per week through 2016, so there will be lots more :-)
Perfect! Re-framing conversations to be in tune with your beliefs is a big part of your charisma. Thanks
He answered the question s. His way. Because society trys to dictate everything we say and do he really inspired so many people to believe in themselves and respect each other's ways and never be afraid to be yourself.
i watched this full interview all evening yesterday and you could tell that the interviewer didnt like nor understand Bruce especially how he dismissed the whole interview at the very end and Bruce had that whole interview in the palm of his hands.

This man was incredibly awesome
" I think of myself as a human being...!"
Which of course is absolutely true and also, by the time he utters those words he has put himself light years ahead of the gentleman who is the one asking the questions. Philosophically speaking. we are afraid of what we do not understand. This fear that we/some Harbor is still the root of all the war, hatred and killing that still exists to this day. That we cannot look up to the stars and realize that at its complete essence; We are all human beings...
Thank You Sifu!
Bruce Lee was smart and I love watching his interviews. His philosophy is amazing.

Wow! Thanks so much - I really appreciate that!
Many people confuse "Kung Fu". 功夫 It means "Skill". If you go learn self defence, they teach you "techniques". Technique over time= skill,
Taekwondo= 跆拳道= Tao of the fist.
Jiujitsu=柔道=Tao of the soft (kicking and punching is the hard)
Tai Chi = 太極=Supreme Ultimate (When you know both the hard and the soft, not many could master it, therefore people misunderstand it, MMA would be both hard and soft).
Bushido= 武士道= Tao of the warrior
Karate = 空手道= Tao of the empty hand (simplified to teach those who have to use it in war. Okinawan learned from China. ).
Kendo=劍道= Tao of the Sword
Wing Chun= 詠春=Chant of the Spring
Jeet kune do= 截拳道= Tao of the intercepting fist
Aikido= 合氣道= Tao of harmonizing Chi ( from Tai Chi )
Any honest Japanese, Korean will tell you all these came from China. It is due to recent wars and subversion that this is confused. They all write them in Chinese to this day.
Taekwondo= 跆拳道= Tao of the fist.
Jiujitsu=柔道=Tao of the soft (kicking and punching is the hard)
i would like to know what you meant by that
Actually Kung Fu has two meanings : 1.skill, way 2.Any kinds or ensemble of all kinds of Chinese martial arts. I don't know which one appeared firstly.
I'm not sure if it's appropriate to say that they came from China. They indeed originated from China but they were born in Korea or Japan, like an American Born Chinese or African, he was born in America but belongs to a Chinese family.
One last thing, the literal translation of Wing Chun is Chant of Spring but in fact It's said that Wing Chun is the name of the founder of this kind of martial arts Yim Wing Chun.
+MrWilko I would say it's Tao of fist and foot for Taekwendi, 跆means Foot if I don't get it wrong because any Chinese characters with the part 足like跟 跳 蹦 踝 are related to Foot. That's the literal translation and has no deeper meaning.
And Judo 柔道, way of soft means that you don't tame your opponent by tough movement like punching directly in your chest but by soft ways like stumbling someone or armlock him.
What an incredible deep breakdown of Bruce Lee's interview...I see so much more depth into this interview that I've never seen before.. This is awesome.. And almost a million views on this video is absolutely phenomenal!
It shows how massive Bruce Lee still is! 👍
Pure undiluted magnetism. Huge power in his eyes and movements.
This is such a great video. His philosophy is so interesting and useful. One thing I find interesting is that having thought about these types of things before, my philosophy almost matches his in some things, as in, I already practice/think about some of the things he says here.

I LOVE IT! I use to do this as a kid, strictly cause I loved learning and exploring to find a "better" answer not the right one or me being correct, usually.
