    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  Год назад +5

      @@chriswihulu I've been toying with an idea about doing a video on Carlo's past before his actual death that outlines his childhood and ties to the stalkers/black rabbit brotherhood. Haven't gone through the process of chalking that one out yet, but not only are you correct... I think there's a lot of reason to believe that may in fact be Carlo's grave. Couldn't say with confidence whether his body is in there or not... But, there's lot of evidence to think it's a grave for his commemoration at the very least.

    • @chriswihulu
      @chriswihulu Год назад

      @@XDeej I had the same basic idea, only thing that did go against it to some degree, was that it had the "Mark of the Black Rabbit Brotherhood", along with the note. Unless said group existed before the Frenzy, I don't see why it would be there, but we know that the Brotherhood more than likely all grew up, or were trained at the Rose Estate.
      So, what if the Brotherhood originally was a club, made up by the children of the Estate, as it could then tie them in with both Carlo and Romeo, who also spent time there and wanted to train to become stalkers. Them not seeing Carlo in P, can be explained with time and the Frenzy twisting their minds and behaviour, so they didn't even consider the idea that P was Carlo in some form.
      A dedicated video would be great, but only if you feel there is enough there, or can fill in with your own theories and the evidence that supports them. Unaware if you know of them, but the RUclipsr KiteTales has made a few lore videos on Lies of P, one of the Latest about stalkers, so maybe there is something to be found there.

      @@chriswihulu There's definitely some extra pieces that I'd be intending to work in to really demonstrate the theory... Damn, good finds man! My little theory about DLC/Sequel is that they won't use a story that has been explored before in videogame form...I'd love a game about Dorian Gray cuz I think with a little twist, you can incorporate the resurrection mechanic into the game by saying that his portrait brings him back if he dies...AND a certain D. Gray is already referenced in game.

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  Год назад +4

      Dorian Gray is definitely an NPC I think they could work in at some point, and that would be a cool way to do it. When it comes to references they've already dropped, I (personally) NEED some answers on the Legendary Stalker and I'd love to see some of that get hashed out too.

    • @gadgetvolt3640
      @gadgetvolt3640 Год назад +6

      Also, as far as the Frankenstein theory goes, a certain Victor is already in the game...previously dead, bought back to life by Alchemists..it's a likely tie.

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  Год назад +1

      @@gadgetvolt3640 Yeah, I could see that one going either way. Maybe it's definitely NOT going to be Frankenstein because they feel like they 'already did it' with Victor... But, it could just as easily be the setup for how they want to expand on that notion if Frankenstein is something they go with. Even still, we know that victor was 'unable to be completed' and "Laxasia the complete" suggests there's a process there still working on, but we don't really know what 'complete' means in this circumstance either. So, definitely lots of question marks still out there.

    Very few ever bring up the original Teaser Trailer and I feel that is a waste, because I think what were seeing in that teailer, was the "Journey" that Gepetto went on, to gather "parts" for the Nameless Puppet and/or P.
    It could also explain the difference we see in seasons, if he had wanted to build the Perfect Son, he'd need to get only the best materials, even second. Also, it can explain why he was so competent as a fighter/puppeteer, that he has plenty of experience fighting puppets.
    Unsure if there is enough for a video, but I would like to see more bring it up, as it may have more meaning than we give it, since it was a first look we ever got of the game.

      @XDeej  Год назад +2

      If you go all the way back to the original announcement trailer, it has narrative VO from Geppetto that almost makes it sound like he would be an ally in the vein of Sophia's role also, so they definitely underwent some changes in theme and tone from inception to delivery, but there's clearly a LOT there that they still have left on the table.

    While I love the exploration of public domain IP and its deeper themes and meanings, I think these references can be achieved without being so all encompassing or explicit, what I mean to say is they could have all been called robots and we all would have gotten the reference, I'm not saying they did it wrong necessarily its just strange to me that some references are shallow like 221 Baker st. but Pinochio is an unavoidable source of inspiration, it seems to me that there is a better balance that can be achieved when pulling from source material but hey I love the story they made either way. I hope the DLC is more of the same magic

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  Год назад +1

      Large commercial releases will typically err on the side of ease when it comes to delivering their message. It doesn't matter how cool a story is if half of the consumer base doesn't really 'get it', so that's why most large-scale releases are going to try and cater to the middle. With them seeing a successful release on a new IP, I don't imagine they're going to be trying to hide their references when their consumers being able to spot them is part of the draw.

    Well since there is that image with Pinocchio standing on a ship I still think that an entirely new area is not impossible. Especially since Lies of P sold 1 million copies in less than a month so they might have enough resources to build completely new assets.

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  Год назад +1

      I'd absolutely believe that they have the resources to justify taking things up a notch, but for the first DLC their monetary success isn't likely to be as big a contributing factor. Whatever we get first for DLC was likely already in development for a few months before the game's release, and was likely being planned for at least a few months before that. I'm sure that they had _hoped_ the game would do well, but at least for the first round of DLC, I'd wager the additional resources they have available are likely to add polish and volume, but unlikely to have a huge impact on the overall plan for the setting itself. Even still, I'd be happy to be wrong if that means we get to check out some cool new areas. 😊

    If you ignore the ice weather, or perhaps treat it only as the start of the DLC (ice/snow is a pretty easy effect to add to an environment as far as games are concerned), let me give you another option. Based on the relic, going deeper under the hotel, earthquakes opening passages, and so on, Journey to the Center of the Earth could be a strong contender. It's less fairy tale and more science fiction but Jules Vernes works are public domain and it fits with the theme of traveling deeper underground, with the technological aesthetics, and so on.
    Of course, another option is Beauty and the Beast. There's already a Belle (the original story doesn't use the name Belle, but maybe they can get away with that), she's leaving Krat, her previous love Addelson is dead. Also, note that the story was retold from it's 1756 version in 1889 in a collection called Blue Fairy Book and opens with merchant ships lost at sea/captured by pirates. Also, the story itself has three different variants over the centuries before getting past just the public domain cutoff date, all with details that add a lot of room for inspiration.

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  Год назад

      I really LOVE both of these options. They're inventive, plausible, and lean on the existing pieces that can easily be found in game. I'd put both of them in my sleeper/less likely to happen category since they don't seem _super_ connected to the DLC images provided, but that'd definitely be cool to see. Even if it ends up not being the case, I love thinking of cool possibilities like this rather than getting another "they already did Frankenstein" or "it's probably Toyland" comments lol

  • @jackwilliam4436
    @jackwilliam4436 Год назад +1

    Why not just Toyland ? That's what's partly written on the Black Cat's sign post. Just imagine the Red Fox and the Black Cat convincing p to join them in Toyland (either at any time after visiting Venigni's factory and before the Arche Abbey or by making the non violent way of dealing with the duo canon, so it could be done after the events of the main game). Alternatively, Toyland could be where Stalkers are created, since they wear animal masks, like the Donkey. So it could be a way for P to unlocking even more Humanity (potentially, real 'full' humanity), by delving even more into Carlos's past.
    And, ... about that Frankenstein theory, ... P already defeated Champion Victor, in the main game. Though the scientist in Frankenstein was not named Victor, that's how everybody misremembers him : 'Victor' Frankenstein. Also, he was not a doctor. Anyway, Champion Victor could have been an amalgamation of Frankenstein and his Creature (just like almost everybody calls the Creature Frankenstein, instead of Frankenstein's Creature). However, we could be dealing with another creation (like a previous experiment - or like The Bride Of Frankenstein).

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  Год назад +1

      Well, we already know that most of the stalkers receive their training from the Monad Charity house, or via the tighter circle of old houses influenced and controlled by the big players within Krat, so I don't think there's some abstract location that's gonna be introduced as a crucible for their creation that we haven't heard of up to this point. Beyond that, cat and fox were looking to get away from their past, and we didn't really get any indication as to why we would actually want/need to go there for narrative reasons. It's possible... Sure. I just don't think so.
      As for Frankenstein... Yes, I'm aware that Victor is a nod. I'm simply of the mind that this resurrection/reanimation process is a huge question mark with basically 0 explanation behind it, and Victor could be a prelude to the furtherance of the Frankenstein references we've already seen being expanded into. Maybe not, but it feels more likely than toyland imo.

    I like Christmas Carol as a prediction a lot. It would be such a unique adaptation to an action game franchise; and although the core story everyone knows is Scrooge and the three ghosts, there are a whole cast of characters besides them in the original book: Tiny Tim, Tim's family, Scrooge's ex-fiance, Bob Marley, the businessmen of Joe's scavenger shop, etc., many of whom could tie into Lies of P well like the scavengers becoming merchants. In fact, Tiny Tim's story could very well mirror Pinocchio's own with a distraught Scrooge or Tim's father coming to Lies of P to use Puppet/Alchemist technology to save a Tim who is currently ailing or has already succumbed to illness.
    Additionally, Lies of P already has a built in time mechanic where different zones would shift the time of day which I never felt was fully utilized in the base game. It could be interesting seeing them adapt the time-of-day shifting mechanic to actual TIME shifting: past, present, and future. A lot to work with here, your sleeper pick is approved 👍

The crow appears there for the first time only and never reappears, so there may be some kind of ominous allusion that was intended with it that they're going to expand on more later. Add to that the 3 brothers of Krat collectible not really seeming to tie to anything of note in-game throughout the narrative, and I think you've landed on a really solid guess that already has a nice on ramp built in. I think it was cut content to an extent... Ultimately I think this area is just going to prove to be the transitional path into whatever DLC they have coming up, and rather than flesh it out for Trismegistus, they opted to use it as a bridge into upcoming content due to budget, timing, or both. Size and scope are obviously gonna be extremely hard to guess at in advance. But... Considering what I've shown here, how far in advance they're working on it, and a lot of indicators suggesting that they were planning on DLC long before the game even came out, I'd imagine it'll fall in line with FromSoft's approximate size, but likely a little earlier. Best guess... 4 new bosses, 2 main new antagonists, and a commercial release sometime in Q3 of 2024.

It's the story that the "Nutcracker Suite" ballet was based on. There actually was a somewhat recent Live Action Disney movie released in 2018 also based around the movie called "The Nutcracker & The Four Realms"
    I really think it'll be fun connecting the lore of "Lies of P" with The Nutcracker. Maybe there's a connection with Sophia, who's supposed to be Lies of P's Blue Fairy, & the Sugar Plum Fairy? Perhaps Drosselmeyer is an alchemist as well just like Geppetto, maybe even a colleague of his?

I think of all the compelling and interesting pieces of Lies of P lore that the game _doesn't_ explore... The alchemists and their resurrection process stands out as a big one to me. Maybe that's a loop they never truly intend to close, and we won't see them expand that direction further, but I feel like the alchemists are the biggest players in Krat's history, and outside of Manus being a poor representation of their origination, I (personally) feel like there was just too much there they could dive into to ignore it. Maybe we don't get Frankenstein in DLC, but if that's the case, I think it's a great nod to the original media that unfortunately kinda got swept under the rug if that's the route they go.

      In my mind, Frankenstein is actually an opening and expansion of the alchemist story lines they have already touched on, but didn't really do anything with. Cool as it might be, I'm still convinced they're going back (way back) in time after what the devs and game director have said about their plan publicly. While it has been somewhat obscured behind them obviously trying to keep it hush hush, the prevalent theme is they want to go back and explore some of the 'origins' of some of the existing characters in Krat.
      Either way, I'm looking forward to something that will likely kick ass.

    But didn't the game director already show us images of a ship, and heavily implied that we'd be sailing out from Krat? Oh well, I won't complain about more than one DLC!

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  11 месяцев назад

      The image of the ship in question is in the video. The only thing I've heard the director say publicly (thus far) is that they're wanting to explore some of the stories that made Krat what it is today. Outside of that, I don't know if there was any specific 'travel distance' offered or suggested, but I could be wrong. They've been pretty cryptic on purpose it seems, so I'm still waiting for something solid from them one way or another.

      I definitely think she was. We find a woman named belle, who then puts us in search of her friend, who turns out to be 'a beast'. You can take that even further with the fact that he gives us something for her to read lol... but, thin as it might be, it still feels like it all adds up to a solid (albeit quick and passing) reference imo.

    I dont think frankenstien will be the theme as Victor the champeon was already a referance to Victor von Frankenstien with his reanimated corpse, i feel like Christmas Carol could be a half insperation mixxed with the wizard of Oz as those books alone had insane visuals that could fit well with Krat, if this game was 10 years later i would of guessed Narnia since the lion the witch and the wardrobe due to the public domain soon.

      I think Dorothy is going to be it's own fleshed out sequel connected by Giangio (Paracelsus). Not sure if P will be in it or not. But this is my speculation and nothing more. The Wizard of Oz just seems like too rich of a story to just make it a dlc. Especially to anyone whose seen Return to Oz.

      I think it depends on how long they've been working on it. Rather than its size, I'm just hoping that they've given it plenty of time to bake and have the same polish and shine on whatever it is they release. If it's big, hopefully that work has been going for a while already, but I don't think it's a problem if it happens to be small, I just hope they give it the proper time to be good.

    • @XDeej
      @XDeej  Год назад +2

      Video games are an indulgence, and with their high cost compared to movies and music, perhaps doubly so. Beyond that, they're also prohibitively expensive to create at the triple A level. So, if you invested 60 bucks in something you really enjoy, knowing that you're likely to get a lot of value from further investment is a win for the consumer. Likewise, if you're a developer, instead of taking a big risk on a new title and spending TONS to produce a risky IP, creating something you're confident consumers want is also a win. It benefits both side of the equation.
      That said... Neowiz has also already said that they'll be doing it... So, it's not exactly a mystery on it being expected at this point.
