This was incredibly helpful. My husband had total knee replacement surgery 3 days ago and they didn't go over anything about showering.
I really appreciate this video. I had total knee replacement 2 weeks ago (I’m barely 40…but had osteonecrosis so had to be done 🤷♀️) and I’m recovering at my moms house which happens to already have a handicapped accessible bathroom. It’s been easier here than it would have been in my 100 year old house. I’ll be heading home soon and I have a super high tub like the one in this video and this really helped me visualize how to use my transfer seat! Thank you so much for sharing! I’m feeling much more confident returning home ♥️ from California
I just had total right knee replacement 1 week ago. After viewing a few video's regarding the bath transfer bench this was the absolute best and simple to cover all aspects. One thing other don't mention is to cover the wound at first with Gladwrap which makes a lot of sense. So many thanks and now I feel much more confident in having a shower and using my bench. Cheers.
I had a partial knee replacement in April 2023. I had a waterproof dressing and could shower without anything over it 24 hours post op. That was taken off at my 2 week post op appointment & no restrictions on getting the incision wet but he used glue instead of staples. Also had a walk-in shower with a bench but never used the bench.
That leg lifter was a lifesaver for me in the beginning.
Thank you very much for sharing this video.I can apply this to my forthcoming Knee replacement. Well done🥰
What an amazing resource! Thank you for such a thorough demo!!
You’re welcome! Thank you for watching!
This was incredibly helpful!!
Very helpful! Thanksfor sharing!
Thank you for this video.
Great video, thank you
This has been so helpful as I get ready for surgery this week. Do you have one for going up stairs?
Thank you I appreciate it very much
No way would this be easy for me in any way 😮 14 days after knee op, fortunately I do have a stand up shower, or walk in shower. I bought a total plastic leg cover with silicone top that goes over your thigh, this is a life saver, for those in SA Dischem is where I got this.
Great video. Thank you!😀
Glad you liked it!
This is great! Any ideas for a patient who prefers to shower with their back to the stream but doesn’t feel comfortable turning around with the shower bench that close?? Thank you!!
This video is everything! Thank you. I just had my ACL surgery 4 days ago and my first shower today was very challenging without the proper info.
I’m so glad you found it helpful! Hope your recovery goes smoothly!
Thanks lady making plans for this surgery good tips.
Very helpful video but the long handle scrub Brush in your Amazon link does not bend like yours does in the video. So disappointed.
Great video. Im glad you mentioning how you could feel well in the beginning and then feel faint. I've seen that happen.
Appreciate all the helpful vids!
I’ve had so many clients nearly go down during a shower 🫣
Almost happened to me. I think the ice cold water I poured on myself and drank was the only thing that stop it😅
Thanks so much Lindsay- my surgery is this coming Friday. I have a transfer chair already in my shower, but it’s an extremely small bathroom and the toilet is right next to it. This helped me also to visualize how to do it and to get the tools I need it like the leg lifter, and the silicon bendable Shower brush. I’m wondering though, Amazon sells a blowup covering for your knee that makes it waterproof. Do you recommend that or is it just important that I have the press and seal?
Wendy
Any covering that effectively keeps the incision dry is acceptable during recovery. Best wishes!
Those rails come off the high tub. They are usually just sitting on the high tub and held with screws in the wall.
When to remove medical soakes specialy don't like to wear it very uncomfortable to sleep
Vind t heel erg jammer dat we nooit geen Nederlandse vlogs over dit onderwerp krijgen of dat je t kunt vertalen int nederlands
What if you have glass shower doors on your tub/shower?
They have to be removed (which can usually be done temporarily) while using a transfer bench.
Where can I find the link for the shower curtain? Please and thank you

Same for me, can’t find a link for how to handle the shower curtain, great video otherwise. Thx
What brush are you using in the video??
This one!

Many thanks for your speedy reply. I will order the brush. Your video will be extremely helpful for me post knee replacement in November. Thank you 🥰🥰
There is NO WAY my knee can even bend like this
Almost 3 weeks post- single TKA surgery, and I'm exactly there right now. The knee doesn't flex despite trying to do home exercises, SO frustrating!
Sick of trying to do sink baths, but scared I'll fall or get the incision wet.
I agree. I like a video done by someone who just before or after surgery to get a true picture. Lots depends on your fitness level and whether from a fall if you have a sprain. I have a fractured patella.
I had a tibial plateau fracture 7/2/23, I've had 3 surgeries and 1 more to come, I still can't bend my knee

For real!!! 😂❤
Is that a electrical outlet, on the side of the tub wall at the back of the tub? If so, not very safe.
I have glass shower doors that are in the way
Buy a shower stool (smaller chair) instead?
Thanks I want to shower but I have staples so I can wet it, but I do the sponge shower so said
This is fine and dandy but not all of us have the money for expensive things like this…..it was better when they sent us to a rehab center.
How you bend your knee like that this is not tue video we need to watch
Talking too much just get to the point!!!!!!
The information is valuable. But, your 're talking too FAST? Please slow down.
