That Weatherby Mark V hunter has been spraying groups since you bought it! You have flung Hornady, and other various types of ammo and the groups seem to be fairly wide. (Not your fault) guns are ammo picky. But my GOSH! Those groups are impeccable. Great ammo and I’m glad to see you found something that Weatherby likes!!! Great video!
I just couldn’t be happier to see that the Ruger made slightly tighter groups. Cracks me up when folks spend 3-5x the money than the cost of the Ruger for the same accuracy.
I can't agree more I got one in 223 Remington I got it set up for a Russian boar down here in Argentina and let me tell you everytime I squeeze the trigger the head hit the ground faster than the body does . I take only head shots
That ammo shot so well outta my Hells Canyon .308 that I bought a lifetime supply of it just for that rifle. I bought all 12 boxes at cost because the stuff wasn't selling for the dealer so it was a win-win!
I was looking for reviews on the Banish 30 Gold and Banish Backcountry when I came across this video. I agree about that Remington Scirocco bullet, it's by far the best bullet I've shot. I don't see many people shooting this bullet, so I was excited to see you running rounds with it. My rigs are the 06 Ruger Hawkeye Hunter and a 300 Win Mag Model 70 Super Grade both guns love this bullet. I'll have to go back and check out your 06 Scirocco video. Hopefully I'll get a can sooner than later until then I'll have to deal with the boom of these bullets. Awesome video.
i shot .303 and .308 my whole life last year i made the transition to the rem 700 chambered in creedmore and holy shit the accuracy is amazing i'm alot more confident doing long shots when hunting .
A buddy loads 175 grain Barnes lrx in 30-06. He used to use 220 core lokts because his max range at the time was 75 yards now he's max range shots are 300
@@tylarhaugan7908 : On game you'd use 220 grain softs, you're not taking a shot beyond 100 yards, better off inside 50 yards. Zero for a maximum point blank range of 150 yards. Bullet weight, zero depends on game being hunted, hunting environment, and similar factors. Range estimation becomes a factor. To give an Army example, the "battle sight" zero on our M1 GARANDS gave us a maximum point blank range of 400 yards. Those of us who could shoot were effective far beyond that.
You demonstrate many different rifles in many different calibers. What is your barrel break in proceedure(s). What is your bore cleaning procedure(s) for all the different rifles? What is your favorite carbon remover and what is your favorite copper remover? What do you use for bore coating for long term storage? Do you reload?
Remington must be stepping it up because there soft tip deadliest mushroom in the woods stuff used to suck lol and I tried it in a array of makes n models just couldn't get it to group. This stuff here is definitely a huge step up for them
I just finished the first stage of purchasing a Banish 30 from Silencer Central. Now waiting for ATF…. I plan on using it for deer hunting. Thinking of a Banish 223 next.
Crazy groups, we have a Ruger American package with Vortex scope over here in Auz in 6.5 creedmoor thats amazing value but I so want the 6.5 swede sporter as I already have a milsurp and I don't need to get another box of bullets. But these videos make it such a hard choice.
My first deer rifle was 6.5x55 Sweedish Mauser my dad gave me when I was 10. In 1976. He had shot many deer on our ranch in TX and a bunch of mule deer in mountains of New Mexico. Then I started going with him. I still shoot it from time to time. Still very accurate but a little beat up. Stock cracked, safety retention broke. It's been used a lot. When they introduced 6.5 Creedmoor I was extatic as the 6.5x55 was my favorite. I own others but I kept going back to the Mauser. I have two tweeked out 6.5 Creedmoor I just love ❤ You can't go wrong with either of these great cartridges. Accuracy, shootability have a lethality all of its own.
Excellent deer round! I'm surprised the velocity isn't higher than that. I have some terminal ascent in 130 grain and the box says around 2900 feet per second. That's still pretty good at 2750 if your inside of about 350 to maybe 400 yds on deer.
The scirocco bullet is hands down one of the best if not the best all around hunting bullet made today. Very rapid expansion coupled with the bonded core which offers great weight retention for dependable “through and through” performance which gives you great blood trails when having to track. Federal offers a load with the swift scirocco ii.
@@lessforloans no… not that I’ve seen. Just the 130 grain for the 6.5’s. The only caliber bullets that I’ve seen that they offer more than one grain in are .22 and .308
I was just as excited as you, I too have a RA Predator. Wow, great video. I have found Nosler BT 140 also are sub 1/4" but really wanted a bonded bullet, will try to find these. Thanks.
Best hunting bullet made in my opinion it holds together because it's bonded and flat smokes whitetails with a exit wound and I've tried it in several different calibers with the same results
Good, another one I'll have to be on the look out for. What was the cost per box ?, I've got a few factory loads of different stuff to try out and see what it likes.
This is my favorite bullet ever it's made by Swift and it's a deer hammer the deer in my picture was taken with a Swift scirocco hand load in 6.5 creedmore 🤘
Do you figure the weight of the can is making the difference in shot placement? Both rifles are shooting lower than original sighting. Anything for recoil reduction?
Think Remington might’ve improved their quality control in their ammo manufacturing in the last few years? I’ve got a Marlin 35 Rem that shoots really good unless I feed it Cor-lokts. If they ever make any more I might give them another try. Anyhow, I really hope so. I’ve got some 180g Cor-lokt SP’s to try in my new RAP 308 next time to the range.
