When you draw your circles on your target you should use a ruler and mark off the inches below so you won't need the measuring tape later.
👍👍 good idea
You just made my husband's evening! Thank you for the video. He's been hoping you would do this for a couple months.
🙏🙏🙏 appreciate yal watching
@@WHOTEEWHO all the time! Our 9 and 4 year old sons also watch and got excited that you replied. They both said, "hi".
Lol I think I asked for this one too
This round sure seems to be a favorite one for a lot of people. Thanks for sharing your ammo and time with us all. Good shooting and gods speed to the WTW HUNTING CREW. 👍🇺🇸
This round seems to spoken about with reverence in regard to long range shooting …. Appreciate the testing and upload
Another great video! No wonder everybody likes the 6.5 crm so much. Has a lot of versatility as a long range target shooting caliber or a hunting round.
Just what I was ask for, thank you very much for your time and effort to make your excelent videos.
If you sight dead on at 25 yards, you will be 1.5-2.0 inches high at 100. This will give you a maximum point blank range (mpbr) of somewhere between 275-325 yards (an online ballistic calculator can tell you exactly). This means anywhere between the muzzle and the mpbr yardage you can hold dead on and will never be over 3-4 inches high or low.
Yep that's where one starts, But you really got to Actually shoot those distances to make a real dope sheet
Very useful information and realistic testing. Glad to hear you bought a bunch of clay blocks too, always fun to watch!
Clay soon!
I really enjoy your videos but I must say they make me so envious that you get to spend so much time at the range!!! Keep up the quality content!!!!
Appreciate you watching reno. What you see on screen is the fun ppart. The pain is lugging everything around, cameras and such. And staying up all hours of the night doing all of the editing 😝😝😝
The biggest question in the whole hunting equation…….how far are you willing to take a kill shot? I dont see myself ever trying to make a kill over 300 yards.
That's about most people's limit. However, it does depend on the hunters skill level and what they are using. I've seen plenty of videos of deer being taken at long ranges, but these folks aren't your typical hunter who shoots occasionally on the weekends.
@@toddk1377Out here on the open prairie most hunters like to have their rifles dead on at 250 yards = 1.5" -2" high at 100. That's with 270 130 grain or my favorite 257 Weatherby 100 grain.(3650 fps, M.V.)
I am comfortable shooting a deer or pronghorn at 400, (I prefer closer if possible)
I find it funny when people claim that the 6.5 Creedmoor is flat and fast....... Not really.
Made a kill shot at 500 yards prone on a pipe line
Sorry I missed last night, but I ALWAYS enjoy your videos! Thanks, my friend!
🙏🙏🙏
Excellent information! thank you!
So since both our Ruger American Predators in 6.5 Creedmoor are so dang accurate with the Norma Whitetail, think I’ll go ahead and raise my Nikon’s elevation another inch for a 200 yd zero next trip to the range. You’re saving me some ammo money, Who Tee Who! Thanks!
Thanks I needed this information.
Ahh yeah, I've been waiting for this one!!
👍🇺🇸
Appreciate you watching!!!
Thanks for the video! Greetings from Brazil 🇧🇷!
Another awesome video bro.
Great run down. Thank you very much.
Thanks for watching
Thanks for making this!
It would be interesting to see the comparison of the drop with the actual chronograph muzzle velocity compared with the velocity listed on the box, since that is determined with a different barrel length and gun setup.
Wow. I've been watching yur videos for awhile now. N I thought I subscribed, Sorry for the late sub.... but love these drop vids. Awesome
Thanks for subscribing Evan!
Thank you that was awesome makes me feel like I have my savage axes 6.5 zeroed in just right for deer season. And I asked about this only a week and a jade ago lol thank you
Appreciate you watching
Hey Adam
Another awesome video Mate thank you , the 6.5C is known as a flat shooting round , your video proves that with less than a 4.1/4” drop at 200 yards is a great result , Aussie Steve .

Very well done. Informative, helpful and quickly to the point. No annoying theatrics or loud music. NEW SUBSCRIBER. - - I am shooting the same 6.5 Creedmoor, Ruger American Rifle Predator but exclusively hunting Whitetail in a mix of rolling wooded areas and open farm-ranchland. Shots from 25 yards to 400 yards are the norm. I use Winchester 125g Deer Season ammunition and setup with a 25/250y zero .... -0.1" @ 25y *** +1.1" @ 50y *** +2.6" @ 100y *** +2.9" @ 150y *** +1.9" @ 200y *** -0.5" @ 250y *** -4.4 @ 300y *** -6.9" @ 325y (MPBR) *** -9.8" @ 350y *** -13.1" @ 375y *** -16.9" @ 400y. I use this MPBR system and don't have to think about holdover until past 325 yards and holdover is pretty minimal out to 400 yards. For a quick shot where range is in doubt (short or long), I just put the crosshair on top of the shoulder and squeeze. It's either going to be a kill shot or a good ethical clean miss.
Thanks Ken. Appreciate you watching. I'm just a regular ol dude
I've got a 6.5 creedmoor ordered thanks for a great video WTW
This is pretty much what I was looking for :D I’m looking to get pretty consistent shots from 300-500 yards with this round so this was pretty helpful! I’m new to all this so I’m trying my best to be diligent and learn what I can.
Thanks for watching!
@@WHOTEEWHO You’re welcome! It was straight forward and to the point 👍🏼
Hey, a logical extension of this series would be to shoot lower BC bullets at 100 and then at 400 or 500 if you can get that much range back east there in Tennessee. Then shoot a high BC bullet at 100 and 400 or 500. The difference would be minimal at 100 but much more pronounced at 500.
Enjoyed the video as always very useful
🙏🙏🙏
Y'know i found your channel from the silly yt shorts n i didnt think too much of it, just thought it was nice camera work showin off the gats, but i appreciate you knowing your stuff. Also respect for that 1000 yard shot. Ive never had the chance to shoot that far, i dont have a lot of property or a firing range that goes past 250 nearby. Someday i wanna see what i can do.
I think long range shooting is kinda underappreciated these days. Barely anyone cares about it, they just wanna run wacky drills designed for 2/3 gun matches & then call it combat training lol
Appreciate you watching 🙏
Your bullet drop videos are excellent! Very informative! How about a 12 gauge slug for the next one?🇺🇲✝️🇺🇲
Coming soon
Yes been waiting on this here

I’m interested in getting a 6.5 Creedmore, Savage 110 Bolt action “ tactical “ it amazes me at the distance of shots that will be kill shots !! It impressive !! I have a Ruger .308 Gunsite Scout Rifle , by reading n listening to The Master mind Colonel Cooper’s theories n one gun for all tasks , I feel with the weight to power in a very light stock n good barrels with the accu trigger , I appreciate your knowledge which I should be able to figure a way to figure my new hold points for different distance’s quicker in my head , with more accurately placed shot, cause of the small amount of drop up to 200 yards , easy system to keep memorized !!!! Thank You for helping me make my decision, that it’s worth to upgrade for better outcome !!!! Thanks So Much from Commy Ct. 😷💥🔫👻
I love Hornaday Match in 6.5 Creedmoor...shot 8 rounds in the space of a dime from my Ruger Precision at 100 yards...the other two were 1/4 inch away but not touching
Thanks for the ammo tip
Whooot, I am in the market for a new bolt gun for a long range rig, you Sir have me on the hunt for either a American-predator or my 1# choice of a CVO-Cascade. Thank you Whoot for showing these awsome affordable options🤝💥
👍🔥🦅Appreciate the info
Going out to 500 meters today (first time). I use Hornady 147 match. I watched this first. Thank you.
Always liked 6.5creed hope u have a good week
You should get yourself a ATN digital one shot zeroing scope. The Buckhunter daytime scope sells for around $900 and you will love it!
i love these eps because it doesn't matter how many times you try and teach some people it don't sink in bullets fall so sight in your gun at 100 then become a better shooter or just bye your meat
Thank You 🙏
Good series, WTW. Your scope height looks higher than 1.5" above bore. Changing the number in the calculator to 2" (or actual measurement) would cause the drop on the chart to show a number smaller than 4.16". Since actual drop is closer to 4.5, actual muzzle velocity might be less than the number you put in the calculator. Anyway, reallt just thinking out loud and commenting to help with the algorithms. I know you're on top of it!
Great test !!
Thanks heavy metal!!!!!
Thank you 😊
Thanks for the vid I do preciate it
Thanks for watching
Need to do one of these with 6.5 grendel. Love the content!
Need to get one
I don't have a 6.5 Creedmoor so I can't speak from experience but your results are right in line with what the Hornady book states the ballistics will be for this bullet at that speed. I don't see how this firearm lives up to the hype that has been generated for it. A .284 diameter bullet same weight and about 100 fps faster drops slightly less and retains more velocity at 200 yards. I don't see the love for the 6.5 but it's quite possible I'm missing something.
I just ordered some of the Norma Whitetail in 243 and 7mm08 from budsguns. I will give it a try.
I've been watching these and thinking... If only a 4 inch drop at 200 (2 moa on the chart), does it make sense to dial the scope up 1 moa and have a rough point of aim that "works" anywhere from 50 to 200? 50 would be about an inch and a half high, 100 about 2 inches high, and 200 about 2 inches low. On a heart shot that should be enough to get a clean kill (assuming a good hit).
Yes, that makes sense and will work. But, I would rather know exactly where the bullet hits instead of being okay if it hits within 2 inches of where I am aiming
I'm betting that cartridge would be less than two inches high at one hundred yards if it is zeroed at 200 yards. It may be no more than an inch high with a high ballistic coefficient bullet like the 6.5 Creedmoor needs to be using for hunting or target shooting. I would sure test it out before I settled on a 100 yard zero with a rifle in this caliber.
@@kenycharles8600 agreed the rounds I use for hunting with my 6.5 creedmoor I have zeroed at 200 yards and there is only about a half inch difference in shot placement between 50 yards and 200 yards but the rounds I use recommend being zeroed at 200 for hunting likely because they shoot like a laser the bullet ballistic data on the rounds I use read like this 50 yrds(-0.53”) 100 yrds(-0.26”) 200yrds(0.00) 300yrds(-2.77”)
@@TheShmeebitdog that sounds a lot like the ballistic data I accumulated with the 7mmRem mag before I decided to trade it off for something smaller.
If you're not looking for super precision, which I'd recommend for varmints at long range, but for deer, maybe sight in the rifle 3" high at a hundred and using a ballistic chart, find out when that bullet is 3" low and whatever range that is, call that your maximum range to take a deer. No guess work, just use the center cross hair and aim for the vitals and you'll always have a bullet in that vital zone of a deer. Ron Spomer covers this in his videos and calls it the maximum point blank range. Makes sense for deer rifles and such, but if using an optic with a bdc, then use the bdc accordingly.
I have the Begara HMR Pro in 6.5 creed. I was using the same Norma whitetail ammo and on my drop test I was zeroed at 100 yards and shot a group at 150 yards as thats where my corn pile is and my drop was 3/4" - 1".
Never have used a 6.5. But this video shows the drop right on the money. Have a great night buddy 🙂
Thanks for watching Scott
What is the app or website for the ballistic chart you use? I've been trying to find a decent one and most of what I find I'm not liking.
Can you do 30-30 some time
Nice presentation. Nice to see the drops and holder overs.. ♠️🎩☯️
Always appreciate you watching!
@@WHOTEEWHO Yw
Do you have this same chart for the Hornaday 140 grain ELD match? I’m a brand new shooter just would help me a lot!
You should do bullet drop tests with a handgun. That would be cool to see
That makes me confident because I have the SAME ruger american preditor 6.5 creed but I put it in an mdt chassis
Great series brother, I love them all. Have you done the 22Mag bullet drop yet? We got 30, 40, and 50 grainers...
Just filmed the 22mag. Be out in a few days
Would love to see .270 WSM @ 130 gr & 150 gr with a 100 or 200 yard zero. Really great videos.
Nice video sorry for the late view wanting still to see the bullet drop of the 45-70 and also compared to the 450BM
Thanks for doing this on the 6.5 CM. Curious about the hits being slightly right of center at 200. Do you think that’s trigger pull bias or windage?

Fort Scott Munitions 7.62x39mm 117 grain Copper Solid Brass Centerfire Rifle Ammunition tumble on impact, love to see a video of this specific ammo tested for 100 yard group to see how it does in the real world before I spend the money to buy it for hunting. Not cheap compared to Tula soft point ammo.
I've never been a long range shooter and I've been slowly getting myself into it, your videos have been very helpful. I picked up a 6.5 Creedmoor bolt action to be my first long range rifle, I hope to be hitting 600 yards regularly soon.
I’m a new shooter (four boxes of ammo new), with a Remington 700 in 6.5CM. The last time I went shooting I got a .55” 3shot group with Sellier & Bellot 140gr ammo. If you do your own reloads I’m sure you’ll get to 600yds quickly.
@@dannsgamingfails8899 I'm planning on doing my own reloads. My intent is to use about 60 rounds getting use to my set up at 300 yards and less. Then move into the higher ranges with reloads. I found a couple boxes of high end competition rounds in the event I can't find reloading supplies. I'm new to reloading as well, lol, so I don't have a stockpile yet.
Hi WTW and friends from Seattle. What online programs do you use for bullet drop charts
What is the brand of the rifle mount you use? I need one of them!...or to make one!
I like Norma ammo but I started shooting it with my 6.5 Creed and found out they are a high pressure ground even though I really liked what I was seeing there's a vlog online explaining it was blowing the primers out on mine
Could you make a video (or a few) using this in a real life station? Pick random distances and estimate range to see how close you get? Just a thought...
Where did you get these drop charts? They seem very useful
What do you use to make your charts?
Took my boys creedmoor out and shot a whitetail with it today. 350 yards with 129 grain Hornady. It's sighted in at 200 yards at 300 it drops little over 7.5 inches. It's an inch five high at hundred.
Good shooting!
@@WHOTEEWHO thanks I'm gonna try to get another one next weekend. If not then I gotta get the cva wolf muzzleloader out
buddy in the video clip was right - that was a good couple of seconds. i'm quite surprised the ding was so loud after 1000 yards but let's see what your chart says re: the energy at that range might explain it. yup. 791 vs 392 ftlb. the ballistic coefficient was nearly double too. hmmm. :-).. :-)
Keep them coming.. great series... don't forget 308 please..
308 soon
That 100yrd group is instane💥 good trigger squeeze wtw💪💪💥💥💥
Its a great round. But.... Not the super hero compared to all other rounds alot of people claim it to be. Its good. Accurate. Light recoil. But... There are lots of those. LOVE how your videos are putting things into perspective for everyone to see with their own eyes. Thanks Who Tee Who!👍👍
Always appreciate you watching Gary
Let me guess, 308 lover?
@@davidshuff2700 .308 is a great one. But no not my super faveritus bestest ever. Lol.😏 what made you ask that anyway?
@@garytrainer748 Lot of 308 lovers are 6.5 Creedmoor haters
@@davidshuff2700 roger that. Thought you were coming from a different angle. No not a 6.5 hater, its a great one too. But it gets a little over blown at times by some people. The 6.5x55 swede been around a long time. The Creed comes out and has a little better numbers and some people act like its a brand new thing. Its good. I'd have no qualms about using it. But definitely not the end all some claim it to be. You know....... Thinking about the whole hater thing..... I can't think of a single cartridge\caliber etc. That i actually hate. Lol. I would gladly take any and all of them. 👍👍😁
Have you found a bipod for the Ruger American that you can still put a sling on. I bought a barrel mounted bipod that I didn’t like so I sent it back.
Haven't looked. I usually don't take a bipod when hunting
I'd really be interested in a boolot drop video with a 6.5 Grendel, in an ar-15! That would be a really fun video!!!
Have you tried Norma Bondstrike in the 6.5 Creedmoor, if so how did it shoot compared to the Norma ammo in this video?
I have many videos of bondstrike in 308 and 300wsm. Never found it in 6.5
What was the average wait time between shots?
Nice shooting! 👍 I am almost tempted to pull the trigger on a Ruger American in 6.5. At my local gun shop they go for $475. Looks like a bargain. 🤔
Love mine. Many videos with it
Have this gun in the Go Wild Bronze! It is a laser!
Great video. Where are you going to get your drop data?
Free website
So the forces of gravity & forward momentum are independent of one another... A bullet fired out of a rifle & one dropped by hand at the same height will hit the ground at the exact same time...knowing this, it seems like the only factor that will effect how "flat" any cartridge shoots is muzzle velocity...
Have this exact rifle. Shot the biggest buck of my life last weekend
Congrats! 🦌🦌🦌
Your first 2 shots is always true.. afterwards rifle warm up and swift.
My rifles seem to shoot a lot better off bags for what that’s worth. Thanks for all the info!
Thanks for the video, great as always. Is it just me or does it seem that most of your 200 yard targets with everything seems to group to the right. I looked back at a few and still seems that way. Do you have any insight as to why all your 200 yard targets would group right of center ?
Drift
Right-hand twist in bullet rotation will drift right.
@@LyleAshbaugh
True but not likely at 200 yards.
My 10 boxes of 9MM are scheduled to be here tomorrow. $.32/rnd including tax and free shipping. I wish i had more $ and I would have bought twice as much.
LGB
So of all the calibers you have done on this 50, 100 and 200 yard test which caliber has had the least amount of drop at 200 yards?
So far - 204 ruger. But that one is not out yet......
I've noticed most calibers hang around that 3-6 inch mark at 200. Imo, this is what to expect from most calibers, just the difference is the amount of energy it will have at that range. I guess if this was a 5-800 yard drop test, then that's when we would see some big difference in drop and windage amongst all these calibers as well as the energy levels.
@@toddk1377 i think that you sir are in complete understanding of this whole thing. I'd say your logic in this is just about as accurate as possible.👍👍 now.... How do we get everyone to understand? Lol.😊😊
Should have compared the match ammo vs hunting ammo. Good video. Thanks.
Didnt have any match ammo. Gave away my last box. Incredibly hard to find right now
@@WHOTEEWHO i agree with you buddy.
My 6.5 with Winchester deer season xp 125g hits to the right at a distance also. That’s interesting.
Oh yes wtw is shooting laser beams tonight. Thank god for a new video. Been stuck in a rocking chair all day with the newborn. Not complaining but it’s nice to have some entertainment
Appreciate you watching bigtime. Enjoy that baby time. They grow up too fast
Checking in from South Africa.
I get good results with the Remington core lokt 140gr ammo. Groups well and doesn't damage the meat. Mind you, for a small casing, it's got a punch. To people who feel that they need a 300win mag for distances under 400yards, learn how to shoot.
I agree
Well put. Never did understand why so many think they need big "magnum" cannons for everything.
If you had to choose 1 cartridge for the rest of your life, what would it be?
338 win mag
If I'm just going to hunt like i hunt now and have up till now for the rest of my life... I'm good with a Browning lever 30-06. If its some sort of post apocalypse survival got only one gun kinda thing.... .308 win. in an AR platform.
Liked the .223 video… and as a fan of .308, I know that’s a common comparison to 6.5
Awesome videos , keep up great work . We should go shoot sometime , just got a howa American flag 308
