Hey everyone! I'm back this week joined by a very special guest vocalist, the amazingly talented Mitch Grassi! You guys may know Mitch from his work in his acapella group, Pentatonix. Go look them up and have your mind blown, if not :) Mitch and I both absolutely love Zedd's music and his new song, "Find You." We couldn't wait to get into the studio to record it for you guys, and hope that you like the twist we've put on it here!

As much as I love Mitch's high notes and the beauty of the high registers, him singing low notes gives me just as much chills
That is exactly how I feel. I grew so used to hearing him and his high notes, which is impressive and I'm sure that's why they do it all the time. So when I watched this I was taken back. I was like, "okay four seconds in and I'm suddenly in love with him." lol I think his voice is so interesting. I always think about how him and Justin Bieber are so close to the same age and WHY on earth Mitch can't be as popular when he can sing like THIS.
Leigh Tkd oh yeah, I can definitely relate to that thought. But I mean Mitch is being recognized for his incredible voice. Not anywhere near enough, but it is a beginning!

I feel like whenever Mitch is with Pentatonix, he's always either singing obscure harmonies or belting really high notes. It's nice to hear something more authentic from him. He nails everything he does though.
That's because Pentatonix doesn't know how to be low-key. They're pedal to the metal in every song. Even their slower tunes and ballads, they always amp it up like they're afraid no one will like their stuff unless there are belted high notes.
Just let singing be singing. It doesn't have to be a spectacle.

@@zachgray4767 while they love their dramatics for sure, they have many sweet and simple songs. Usually not their singles/videos though. Recent christmas album I think both "my heart with you" and "evergreen" would fall in to that category, just off the top of my head.

@@Lupin788 absolutely agreed, but they've definitely, for lack of a better word, 'overdone' quite a few songs in order to consistently ensure wows from first-time listeners and stuff, not to mention if they fail to be consistently very impressive, it can feel unlikable/self-centered to be a band that doesn't use intruments, ONLY their voice.

I'm a huge Mitch Grassi fan, but I want to take a moment to acknowledge Evan Duffy on piano. You are so skilled! I love watching your fingers fly, and hearing that beautiful music you're making on that piano! I was a pianist for my own pleasure before a connective tissue disorder made playing ever again an impossibility. I lost muscle memory, fine and large motor skills and cognitive skill as well. I also suffer from repetitive motion injury. It's terribly painful. So this heart that aches to play is full after listening to your playing! Such a skilled pianist! Thank you for having my favorite vocalist, Mitch Grassi, on your channel. Keep making music. It's food for so many souls. 😊♥️🎼

I can't be the only one whose breath was taken away by this?!? Mitch's voice is always amazing and I love the high notes he can hit and does hit so often in the stuff he does with PTX, but there is something so incredible about his lower register, I just get instant goose bumps and it's like a punch to the gut almost. I was rendered completely speechless by this video and I just... I'm not even sure. Just this was so incredible and talented and this cover was FREAKING PHENOMENIAL!!!
