Give it a few years and you'll be the one laughing at them because you were focused on what's actually important and stayed true to you! Don't change for anyone. No 13 year old should be worried about "getting guys".. trust me you'll have plenty of time to worry about all that other nonsense later in life!

I wouldn't even expect this from a wedding! maybe the bachelor party but, no. I'm newly 17 and I would never dance like that in front of anyone (maybe future husband in the comfort of our home) let alone My Family. I'm going to a wedding in October and i'm trying to make sure my dress isn't to tight because my family is going to be there like bffr.

12 year old Hispanic male here, what the hell is this? Genuinely, I’m very concerned. Like, damn, it’s a quinceañera, not a strip club. Unlike a lot of kids my age, I don’t like social media that much, it’s entertaining, yes, but we all have to understand that there is a very defined line between safe content, and straight up explicit content, whether it’s porn, nude photos, art, people under 18 need to stay in the safe zone of the internet, family friendly content, texting friends, etc. In summary, people under 18 need to know that this behavior is unacceptable and should act their age, because life doesn’t get any easier after childhood. This is unacceptable and disturbing.

As a newly 13 year old girl I can’t agree more with what you’ve just said. Social media these days is getting out of hand and seeing someone only a couple years older than me doing stuff like this makes me feel so uncomfortable. Life has become so hard once you become 12/13 because people in your year at school say that if you don’t dance, act like these people in this video or dress Cooly/ inappropriately or don’t wear makeup they say that you’re weird or ugly or that you’ll never get a boyfriend or a girlfriend. I can’t believe that these teens parents let them perform this or cheer them on. Shame on them and the choreographer. I’m also a Latin dancer and I have been dancing Latin for 10 years and I have even switched dance schools and never in my 10 years have I done anything like that. Not even in show dance.

I’m 15 and Hispanic and this is NOT it 😭. for quinces yes it is about being introduced to women hood but it is also a very religious concept, for my quince like I went to church and had a ceremony for 2 hours because that’s how it works. Yes we party but never like this. The worse is that the adults might drink but that’s all🤷🏽‍♀️. And the way the chambelans looked a little hesitant to tells it all. Idk also the fact that the girl was comfortable doing this in front of her fam. I would’ve been dead lol.

Me as a 14 yr old. I get shamed for being too childish. I always thought i was a late bloomer like you said because i never had a boyfriend or kissed anyone. My friends always think my parents are super strict because they don’t allow me to wear tank tops or skirts at school, or any provocative clothing at that. This video made me realize that i don’t have to grow up faster, i have seen tiktoks where girls my age dress sexually and i feel like i need to be like that, but i dont. Im 14 and i need to just be 14.

If it makes you feel better,it’s okay to not know who you are at 13. You’re still so young, & you can take these teenage years to try different things, try new things, to figure out what you like & don’t like.
      Life is always changing.
One day you might be a certain way, & the next, you’re a brand new person. (For example, you might like makeup one day, and a year later, you don’t like it anymore. And other things)
      That’s okay, that’s life.
You’re not supposed to know who you are at that age, people aren’t typically sure of themselves up until their 20’s. & even then, you will continue to grow & change.
I only figured myself out at like 24, I’m 26 now. & I’m still evolving.
You will never stay in one spot. You continue to grow & change. 💕
I also wanted to add.. things that might seem important and like a big deal in middle school & high school, are NOT important outside of school. Hopefully that makes sense. Haha. Life is different outside of school, & those things that are going on in school, & the things people are doing, is not that important once you’re out.
& trust me. The classmates & friends who seem soooo sure of themselves, are deep down still growing and figuring themselves out.

It begs to look at Mexican culture and ask why the need to be sexy to the point that it’s encouraged into to the young girls resulting in these types of inappropriate dances for young girls of age 15.

This is Mexican/Latinos culture, but NOT normal or the traditional way of doing Quinceneras.
Many women ‘perform’ bc they think it’s sexy versus vulgar. Not all Mexican, but many parents that believe you have to be a certain way to be sexy are they themselves getting enhancements of body parts. They are proud that their daughters are being ‘sexy’ and push it on them. It’s pretty raunchy and sad. Not all Mexican women light up a candle to Mary or use the Rosary to pray or read the Bible.
Gone are the days the quincenera was used to celebrate girlhood to womanhood, a coming of age celebration with big gowns, the ‘waltz’ and a party to enjoy family you have not seen in a long time. Although in America being an adult is 18, Mexicans keep it at 15 bc it’s a traditional event going back to Mexico and a time where a girl at 15 was considered adult. Mexicans will be Mexicans wherever they go. As well as any Latino culture.

I won’t share my age, however I am a minor. I have constantly been brought down and have became insecure because I’d always think that I’d have to follow the trends and whatnot. I’ve developed a slight eating disorder even though I’m not fat (there’s nothing wrong with that your beautiful the way u are) but I’d see all these other girls on RUclips and I’d grow more and more insecure about the way I look. As a Gen z I also feel that the older generations have really made a bad impact on me. They’d always be like “oh your generation is so screwed! They aren’t going to survive the future! Look at them, they are glued to technology all the time!” And yes, I know that. But the sad part is, it really gets me upset, wishing I wasn’t born in the generation I’m in because it makes me feel like the gen z generation is stupid and useless to earth. When older people say that kind of stuff, it makes me feel like I serve no purpose in life! And with the insecurities I’ve developed, I’ve constantly been trying to look my best, and try to impress other people. Sometimes I’d skip breakfast and maybe even lunch because I’m way too paranoid to get “fat” (once again I love you all girlies!). After watching this video, the girl speaking really gave me the biggest confidence boost ever. I’m not even kidding, once she started talking about these young girls and whatever, I got up, got a sticky note, wrote “you’re beautiful!” With hearts and stuck in in the middle of my mirror. I flipping love you so much (girl who made the video) and I hope you live the best life you could ever have. I appreciate how you have spread awareness and brought attention to this type of subject. Love you all!! ❤ (I pray that this blows up on a popular social media platform so that people know my story and other young girls like me will gain confidence in themselves!! Bye queens, and thanks for reading!!)

As a “tia chismosa” who watches a bunch of la Rosa de Guadalupe there is an episode where two girls have a like battle, on insta I think, to figure out who will be the prom queen and this one girl A starts posting sexualizado stuff to get more likes, so the other girl B does it too, girl A’s mom helps her and approves of those fotos, but girl B’s mom doesn’t approve. A predator gets on both girl’s page but he ends up kidnapping girl A but they rescue her. But her mom gets tought a lesson that doing stuff like that is bad for children. I just wanted to share cuz the vid reminded me of the episode 😊

That is very inappropriate. Why are parents not protecting their kids. Why are you trying to make them grow up fast. Let them be kids. The most a girl at that age should being doing is maybe hold a boys hand. Not giving him a lap dance. Children have such a short period of time in their life to truly just be children. We should not be throwing them into situations that realistically their minds just cannot cope with.

    God Bless you 🙏🏼❤️
Note: Please however respect the Latin Culture of Quince, don’t talk about how it is a waists of money and unworthy. My quinceañera was one of those days I will forever cherish and be greatful, I thank the Lord of Abraham and Moses, the same God who turn into flesh and died for us and resurrected on the third day! I Thank him for such parents to who say to me “ That Dress look stunning bc you are wearing it my child” 🙏🏼❤️
