I honestly think that out of the popular pet stores (petco, petsmart, pets at home) pets at home do the best hamster care especially with their cages. 0:26 in other pet stores you might find these cages but for pets at home, you will never be able to find these. They still have wire cages but not as tiny as 0:26 . I think they give about 600-500 sq inches. But overall, pets at home wouldn’t be knowing everything and wouldn’t be having the care like Victoria Raechel , Pancakespets, thehamsteroom and you.

I agree that pets at home does have the overall best hamster cages for a chain pet store! Sadly I don’t have one near me 😔

great video with great advice ....shopping at a pet store is a minefield for hamster owners [ especially for new owners ] what with small cages . fluffy cotton /nylon bedding as well as scented bedding and those dreadful edible hides / chews containing sawdust and honey . this great video will help steer new owners in the right direction .

I know I probably could’ve made an hour long video on this topic! 😅
I really do hope this video will help prevent new owners to not use these unsafe items and instead go for a better and safer option!!

stay away from wire cages, no wood or wood toys fro hamsters, no small cages, no saucer wheels, no wheels with edges or see through slats. dont use hamster balls unless they are on a stand.

I wouldn’t use a hamster ball even if it is on a stand, although it makes it a little bit safer hammys can get their toes or nails stuck in the slots. Yes there are a lot of things I didn’t touch on I did try to point out at least three! I could probably make an hour long video on the topic 😅

My hamster cage is big and she still not stop biting

Is she a hybrid dwarf?? Just wondering. It might be because something traumatizing that happened in the past for your ham (if it was from a pet store or rescued from a bad situation or a backyard breeder) or maybe it just gets spooked more easily then others. Have you watched any taming videos here on RUclips? I’ve found those very helpful. My dwarf hamster bites and I haven’t gotten him to stop so I’ve found ways to work around it like wearing gloves or socks on my hands while interacting with him or using mugs to transport him to his carrier or playpen for playtime. Hope this was helpful. I know getting hamsters to become tame around us humans sometimes can be a long and repetitive process but I hope your hamster comes around and stops biting you! 🙂

@Bestieforgam31 hmmm 🤔 idk what to tell you id just keep working on her and showing her your not mean give her lots of treats and try to show her that when your around she gets rewarded. That’s what I’ve been doing with Chai my male Syrian and he has been making significant improvements! But if you might have already been doing that 😅
