The story takes place four years later in the town of Amity, where Police chief Brody must protect the citizens from yet another terrifying shark.

Agreed, although I enjoy Jaws the Revenge on not taking it seriously in any way. Jaws 3 is utter rubbish though

What became of the helicopter pilot will forever be one of cinemas greatest mysteries.
When I saw the film in my country (Argentina) in 1978, the scene of the pilot attacked by the shark underwater was in the film, I see that in other countries this scene was discarded... why?
“But I’m telling you and I’m telling everyone at this table that’s a shark, and I know what a shark looks like because I’ve seen one up close, now you’ve better do something about this one because I don’t intend to go through that hell again!”

Fun fact: Roy Scheider didn't want to be in this sequel at all. He was desperate to get out of a contract with universal. Even getting into a fight with the director.
Just shows how great of an actor he was. He was great in this movie.

This is the best, Jaws 2 possibly had more horror,thriller element's.
Also if you can find it watch the extended director's cut.
The best scene the Helicopter grag down had more footage and shows what happened to the pilot and helicopter further!
Also little trivia fact When Eddie was in the water with Jaws he wasn't acting he really couldn't swim and had trouble holding afloat lol.
Best Jaws film in my opinion first one was great but this the damn shark was on steroids and meth and was beyond serious for the kills!!

I always thought that water skier was hot👍😎 If they ever were to remake this movie, I would want to see someone like Rhonda rousey or Stacy keibler play the role of the water skier!

So bad, it’s good.
In the first film, the sharks mouth and teeth were made deliberately oversized for effect. But the mouth got bigger with each of the sequels, with a huge, unrealistic underbite that looked worse and worse with each incarnation.
Lots of screaming in this one. Great.

I love the way all vehicles whether land or sea, Blow up in huge fireballs and massive explosions. I mean what they carrying, 200 tons of jet fuel? lol However goto love these classics, I remember watching this apon its first release and crying when jaws died :o(

Jaws 2 was okay... I wouldn't call it great.. Roy Schieder performance is great though that's why I can rewatch it a lot.. Roy Schieder carried this movie.. it's just most of the other characters are so weak..

I am pretty certain this was the Producer's and writer's (Carl Gottlieb) response to the Dino De Laurentiis/Jaws rip-off called ORCA in which an orca does indeed kill a shark in the early part of the film.
Martin Sorenson Orca is too good to be a rip off of Jaws but yeah sure.

Roy Scheider was so awesome in this movie, but the shark looks so fake. I just can't understand how they messed up the design of the shark so bad. The shark of the first movie looked way more realistic with the dark grey and white color sheme and the bigger more natural looking eyes, in which you actually see some white in so it gives the illusion of real eyes and of course the bloody teeth. It's sad, that the second shark looks just like a puppet with no details except the scar.
Its the mother so it had to be different looking
I like the movie but after awhile the sequels got dumb. It was always the same family. Jaws is one of those movies that didn't need a sequel.

This isnt a bad movie its okay nowhere near as good as the first but way better than 3 and 4. And plus these arent even the best scenes from Jaws 2.

I don’t like this movie as much as everybody else does for a couple of reasons:
1. The reason the first one worked so well was the characters were interesting. They were compelling and had personalities. Thus, we were more invested in them and wanted them to come out alive. In the second one though, with the exception of Martin and Ellen Brody and Mayor Larry Vaughn, none of the characters are particularly interesting. They are not compelling and they have no personalities, making them very bland and forgettable. That makes it incredibly difficult to root for them since we are never given time to know them
2. By showing the shark a lot more often in the second one, the suspense value that made the first one so thrilling is lost. This, combined with the uninteresting characters, made the film feel boring when it should have been exciting
