fun fact: hard drives aren’t actually sealed, theres a small hole that has a channel underneath it and it goes through a filter, this is to allow the hdd to breathe and not build up pressure with heating/cooling. Also taking the lid off of your drive won’t render it broken or anything, in fact the platters are so smooth that dust will fly off due to the air cushon and be pushed into the filter, this is why hdds actually spin up to max rpm before the heads move from parking to the platters

Disagree. While SSD without a doubt is the future and keeps gaining market share there are still a lot of use cases for HDDs:
      - Still cheaper per Gigabyte than SSDs
      - higher capacity than SSDs
      - Unlike the Flash Memory in SSDs, HDDs can be overwritten an unlimited amount of times without issues.
      - HDDs do not loose data even when removed from power for years
      - Still the primary choice for data center drives
      - Ideal for large data which low performance requirements like video files

Drives fail. As an IT tech, I see a _lot_ of data loss, and often hear, "I _meant_ to back up, but didn't get around to it..." Well, luck is unreliable, so back up important stuff regularly, keeping copies online and/or at remote sites. Google Drive, MS OneDrive, and Carbonite are just three of many (often free) 'cloud storage' options.
