About the screen going out:
- go to the settings by the top menu
- slowly scroll down to "Screen Auto Sleep" just below "AirPods"
- you find two sub-options "Timer" which is used while on standby and "During Recording"
- select "During Recording" and set it to "Don't sleep"
- leave the menu
Now the display stays on during recording and you can constantly monitor what the camera sees. Oh and by the way, double tapping on the screen while either show a close up or display the complete view according to the settings on the display.

An impressive piece of kit. Such a pity that it overheats so quickly as, for a brief moment, I thought it might've been a pretty decent replacement for a dashcam. I'm pleased that you covered this so early in the vlog.
It was the little white camera that overheats quickly, not the One RS. THE OneRS lasts a good amount of time. I've not tested it for any extended period but had no problems during filming so far.

In this video, I used the One RS mounted to the bumper....
I recorded the run once with it on the bumper, then cut in the drone-style chase shots over it in edit. Came out reasonably well 😁
So tempting to buy one!

Do you have 2 One RS'? I noticed you had one for the windshield and the exterior, was curious if you would recommend running a One RS for both or saving some money and running a One X2 for the windshield?
Hey there. No, just 1 ONE RS. I just moved it from the windshield to the rear for the different shots. The rest was done with editing. I've got a ONE X2 also and use that more for exterior while using the RS for interior. You can use the One X2 inside too, but I recommend a Lav mic and adapter (I now use the RODE Wireless Go II).

It depends, from what point of view?
If it's POV, it depends on what regs there are on the camera mounts.
If it's on the outside of the car, I think it's more about the mounts than the cameras. Check out Drag Times channel for what he uses.
@sportzntouring okay thanks, it's for outside the car, they use multiple cameras. I just want one camera that can do 360, then if you want you can put it at the back for driving in the streets and when doing drag racing can put it on the passenger side window.
@eduanwessels4292 check out the new Insta360 X4. That's the latest 360 camera. It will give you an all around view. You will need to export the footage into individual framed shots afterwards ( forward, side, back or into a dynamically reframed shot that tracks the car you're racing)... I've not tried it yet as I'm still on the Insta360 X3 but the specs on the X4 are higher across the board. The mount you use needs to be very strong. I use the Hague SM2 for that reason but I've not tested it over 60mph. I''m considering buying the One RS, but not that much a fan of the dash cam mount. Would rather have a windshield suction cup so I can place it behind the mirror and connect it through USB-C for power. Which suction cup are you using? The one from Insta360?

It's the Hague mount. It's really strong. It's the one I use for pretty much everything now. It's pro-grade kit! The Insta360 ones are decent but I do a LOT of filming so they wear out a little faster, I find.
I am a beginner. What model do you suggest I get. I am only going to be using this on my car. I will either mount it on the back, front, or side. Thanks.
If all you want is the 360 content, then the ONE X2 is the one to go for. If you want versatility, to also have the option of a 4K action camera, then the ONE RS is the way to go.

@@sportzntouring if I wanted to get the interior shots as well..... should I get 2 units then. 1 for the windshield and 1 for the back
@@Aman-vu7ld it depends on what you want to achieve with interior shots. If you want to do what we're doing, then you need to think about audio too. E.g. the exterior shots, we use audio from inside the car or from a mic on the back of the car. Otherwise, wind noise is too much at those speeds.
The interior shots use a RODE Wireless Go II with the receiver on an adapter that allows us to plug it into the camera.
As explained, the form factor of the ONE RS works better for interior windscreen mounts.
I started with one camera, experimented with it, learned about it's strengths and limitations and practiced. Then, expanded the style of shots one step at a time. Then got another camera and repeated that process. It's taken many 10s of videos to get to this point.

Hey so is this able to do 360 view without installing that long thing off tbe back of the car?
As shown in the video, it uses the extended invisible selfie stick... It's the only way I know of for the chase shot. You can mount it anywhere if you want 360° video though... like any 360 camera.

Can we see live streaming on our mobile?
In most modes you can see a live preview on your phone while the camera is recording. In certain modes, live preview isn't supported.
The video is not sharp at all. So much for a motoring action camera. You certainly gave the video your best but if this is the result of this camera’s capability then no I will not be wasting my money.
Can I just check, can you give me a time code for the place you notice this the most?
@@sportzntouring Sure: right at the start 0:20 to 1:30 plus the shots of the camera are fuzzy and remain fuzzy thru till you switch to wide angle. I am going to buy shortly and the insta360 Sri “was” a hot favorite. I better watch some other videos of action cameras although enjoyed your cars.
Ahhh. I see the misunderstanding.... @ 3:02 is the only time I film myself with the Insta360 ONE RS 4K lens.
@ 1:30, that's a Canon M50 filming me, not the ONE RS.. Almost all the shots of me are with the Canon, which I messed up the settings on sadly and had no time to reshoot. In future, I'll make it clear that I'm using a different camera to vlog to.
@ 0:20 that is shot with the Insta360 ONE RS with 360 lens attachment. That films at 5.7k but as I explain in the video, it depends on the crop you use as to the resolution you get.
I hope that clears up any misunderstandings. Also, that was shot nearly 18 months ago. Our camera work is improving all the time and have since replaced the M50 with a GH5. I hope you check out our more recent videos 😁
Looks way to bulgy and cartoonish compared to the video of the 360 chase shot.
In this shoot I didn't extend the selfie stick as far. That means you need to widen the angle to fit the car in so that causes the bulge. It's not down to the camera.
