- Hey guys!
So, my latest endeavour is to cover the entire Operation Mindcrime, all guitar parts, the full shebang! This is the ripping 'The Needle Lies'!.
I recorded all the guitar parts over the original track using my Axe Fx 2 and Logic X. I put the video together using iMovie. All parts were figured out by ear, I do NOT have tab so don't ask!
I claim no ownership to the original material, this is a non profit series of videos for your enjoyment only. If you haven't already got this album, go and buy it NOW!
Please feel free to like, comment and SHARE! I've put a lot of work into this, so it'll be nice for it to be seen by as many as possible! \m/
Cheers!
My favorite Queensryche song. You played it beautifully! Subscribed.
Thanks for watching and subscribing man! Real nice of ya :)

Scott Stofik Thank you for your support!
Awesome. You do the best covers of, Queenryche, I've seen on RUclips. Ever consider doing instructional videos? fingers crossed.
+jizzblob Thanks for watching! Maybe in the future, but its not at the top of my list at the moment.

“Don’t ever trust the needle, it lies!...”
Just incredible wow!!🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
Nailed it. Nice job. Incredible song. My favorite of theirs.
I don't think one could ride any closer on those frets. Seriously tight throughout the entire song. Such a wonderful creation played beautifully. Queensryche to me has a blend of Iron Maiden and Pink Floyd influence. Got to see them 4 times,4 albums, Promised Land being the last. Anyone know what their symbol is?
Fantastic fingers of spider!!😉😉
NICE!! Great playing Alex!! Great cover of a great song!
Hey Alex,

Thank you!
This is awesome. Your channel is dead ? no uploads for a year. Shame, love your selection of covers.
good job!
ImI Rock On!!!!
you're so cool
Wow
Alex, really awesome playing! Seems so effortless yet very controlled! May I know how you pick the main verse riff: 5 5 7 5 5 7? Which notes you downstroke and which ones you upstroke? Is 7 also palm-muted or only 5? Thank you for sharing!
Andy Andy Good question I’ve never really thought about it! I’ll get back to you when I’ve got a guitar in my hands - thanks for watching and the huge compliment!
I was fortunate enough to see the Empire tour and it was great. I went back to see the do Operation Mindcrime I and II. That was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen. I just wish Chris would have done that tour. He was always one of my favorites. Did you make your own backing tracks? I would LOVE to have those. Great job! I loved it and I subscribed.
Thanks for watching and the sub! Chris is very much the man! Just playing over the original tracks here with my guitar mixed a bit louder. Thanks again for the compliment!
Loving the video's. Still by far one of my favorite albums I remember seeing the Empire Tour when they did the full album. what amp are you using on the AxeFx?
+RichardA5150 I'm very jealous! I'm using the Friedman HBE and a ML Soundlab IR (Marshall, can't remember which one off the top of my head)
+Alex Ward very cool I'll have to give it a go. I actually went so far as to buy the Japanese tab book about a month ago for all of the tabs. Just not good enough to figure it out by ear.
Fantastic cover well done.
Have you ever thought of putting instruction videos up for the Mindcrime album?
Carl Brown has a million subscribers and you're just as good imo.
subscribed.
Thank you so much that's too kind! I've always thought about it but never had the time to do it! Maybe one day!
@@powerslave88 Well, after watching your videos and repeatedly playing, pausing & rewinding I have got all parts of Anarchy X and Revolution calling down until the last solo where I can't quite work out what notes you're playing.
Really enjoying your videos.
Keep up the great work.
@@paulnjoo Amazing job! Can't tell you how much I appreciate your support and I'm just so glad my vids are helpful!
Alex any chance if using a axe fx for this maybe you could give me a clue of what your settings are amp block cabinet ir etc would really appreciate it
I hate the selection switch too, but why did you take yours off haha
INeedAttention exe Haha! Not by choice, the casing broke off and I never got around to replacing it! Rock n roll and all that
Who would give you two thumbs up Jeff Tate and his wife
bruh you got this all from ear? I hope I will be able to do that in the coming years
Like anything the more you practice at it the better you get - though Ryche stuff is certainly a challenge! I’m setting up some lessons for this stuff and I’m going back over it and hearing MORE stuff now that I missed then! Insane! Thanks for watching and hope you find the upcoming lessons useful!
How do you remove the guitars from the original?
Damnn Howd u get that tone?
