- Hey guys!
So, my latest endeavour is to cover the entire Operation Mindcrime, all guitar parts, the full shebang! Here's the finale - My Empty Room and Eyes Of A Stranger - an epic end to an epic album! \m/
I recorded all the guitar parts over the original track using my Axe Fx 2 and Logic X. I put the video together using iMovie. All parts were figured out by ear, I do NOT have tab so don't ask!
I claim no ownership to the original material, this is a non profit series of videos for your enjoyment only. If you haven't already got this album, go and buy it NOW!

ALL his Mindcrime covers are so insanely epic. You can't tell the difference between his parts and the album.. iv'e never said that about any musician! drums,bass or guitar.. BUT he didn't write them. Awesome covers!
Excellent. One of my favorite chord progressions EVER, is in the verse when he sings, "Is this all thats left of my life before me" It flows so amazing with everything it gives me fuckin chills. Killer job dude!

No matter how many times I bring this up, I know everybody will likely agree with me on this that this is a masterpiece of the dual guitar work of Michael Wilton and Chris DeGarmo At its best, because eyes of a stranger is the one song I will consider the best masterpiece of their dual guitar shredding

This album is a masterpiece, one of my desert island albuns. Score for guitar parts are rare and low quality. You did an amazing job. Just to watch is fun, learn some parts, even better. Thanks for your effort.

Well done! You do these amazing songs justice. I saw them on the Warning and Rage tours when I was just a kid. I tried to learn some of their songs as budding guitarist, but never got close to what they were doing. The chords, the textures were and still are so fresh and innovative. So cool to see what they were doing through your excellent work. Glad you were able to repost these! Keep up the great work!

Glad you liked it! This is all done by ear/watching live stuff from the era so I'm not sure how accurate it is, but I think it's close! Thanks again!
+Alex Ward only thing I could find any kind of fault with is in the outtro itself... after the second run through you go back to the 1st riff, then play the second again to the fade out... That's a minor quibble though.

As I said over on "Speak", I just think the backing track should be a bit more faint because you're so dead-on that it's difficult to hear your part over DeGarmo's (and/or Wilton) part.

Please... tab out what you're doing in that fast run at the top of the solo! It's the hardest part of the whole thing, you're making it sound exactly like the record, but even at slow speed I can't quite see what you're doing!

Thanks man, I appreciate the view and compliment! It's not outside the realms of possibility, I get a lot of requests for lessons, but it's all down to how much time I have on my hands. I'm more inclined to do a cover than a lesson - as I say though, I may get around to it :)
