I grew up in the Philippines knowing about Smokey Mountain as a large landfill forever producing methane and smoke. By the time we left Philippines in 2007, Smokey Mountain was undergoing the cleanup and restoration. I never imagined this result and I'm very happy that even plants, trees, vegetables are growing in it now.

Smokey Mountain is one of the more interesting walks I have seen yet from anyone. If you hadn't panned out I would have thought it was in some province somewhere. Also, clever use of materials with the bedsprings for fencing. They sure had to scrounge up a lot of them!

I guess there are more jobs opportunities in the cities now through hospitality and the younger people have another way of making money. There are more shops and restaurants and Filipinos have the biggest shopping malls in the world and tourism is improving.

Always wonder why people who can't take care of themselves would always have children that they can't afford or take care of.
It’s not always black and white, and I’ve asked myself the same question when I was younger. However, despite the circumstances, having children is not necessarily about today, but the possibility for a better future.
