I've been building in the sims 4 for yeeears and I've never been able to create nice looking mansions that I'm really proud of, even with a lot of packs, yet here is Kayla building one with just the base game. Honestly, my props to everyone who can make nice looking mansions in the sims
For the Infant Madness stream, you could add an adult every $5k, or even just every $10k, so that there are rewards for you as well, and so that the infants don't get taken away because there aren't enough adults to take care of them.
That's an excellent idea! There's no fun in having many, many infants if they keep getting taken away from neglect! Also, a nanny, butler and maid would be super helpful
@@SLorraineE Yeah, it's comparatively difficult to get a toddler taken away, because if you leave food out often enough, they can typically get to it themselves, but infants are another ballgame. Even just arranging for a lot of adult NPCs on the lot makes a huge difference with infants.
I really hope they go back and update base game with new swatches or changing textures and adding things to make them look more cohesive with newer updates. AND MATCHING WOOD TONES
Regarding that sofa she was talking about - I would love to see more sofas in the game in general that actually look comfortable! I immediately knew exactly the sofa she was talking about, I always want to use it because it's the only one that looks comfy to sit on.
Base game builds are so underrated tbh not only because they can be used by someone who doesn’t have anything extra, but also for everyone else it’s so nice to know downloading it off the gallery that there aren’t gonna be random empty spaces and blank textures to fix because you don’t happen to have the same highly specific combination of packs as the person who made it. This is a perfect build for someone who just wants to get going on gameplay right away
But the game replaces the objects you miss >> If you don't have a carpet from a pack you don't own, it's replaced automatically. Writing this because maybe you didn't know this and it's a cool feature c:
@@foranzo1582 Oh I didn’t know that thank you! I have downloaded things before that came up with blank drywall and entire empty rooms (even though there was no custom content used), and I assumed it was because I didn’t have whatever packs. But maybe it was just the gallery being glitchy?
I say this as an OG Simmer, but this mansion ( mostly the front of it ) reminds me so much of what you would see the Sims 1 intro cut scene - the one you would watch when you would start up the game every time - even though I know that was totally on accident. The outdoor decorations not so much, because it really only had like...a tree or two, but the actual build itself is just so nostalgic. Because of that, I genuinely love this build. If you don't know what I'm talking about, look it up on RUclips, you'll see what I mean. I'm for sure downloading this from the gallery!
aw kayla i lost my mum in march to cancer. she fought so so hard. i genuinely didn’t think i could live without her but i’ve come to realise she’s no longer in pain and i get some relief in that. it’s not an easy journey to watch a loved one go through treatment/appointments/pain and just everything that comes with it. sending so much love to you and your family 🩷
This one reminds me of my grandparents house. After they passed and the house was sold building it in the Sims helped me still feel connected to them. So now whenever I'm feeling sad I can pop into the game to say hi. Today has been one of those days but watching this on my break from work made me smile as soon as I saw the thumbnail. Thanks for turning my day around Kayla!
As someone who has witnessed a child going through cancer what you do for st. Judes does so much for families and I love your dedication to the cause :)
I like the idea of creating your own distinct neighborhoods! Even if you don't make them income based, it could be based on architecture style. I haven't ever planned that far ahead before lol.
If possible, she should add an adult every few thousand dollars to make sure there are enough adult sims to take care of the infants. It’ll make it more doable without having the infants taken away by social services, but I doubt it’ll make things any less chaotic 😂
My dad was diagnosed w multiple mylomea in January and these Sims vids, esp the Newcrest builds, has been a great distraction. I'm glad you're so enthusiastic to help kids who're suffering.
i dont usually comment on things but I have an idea on how to make Simoleons fast (maybe with Stanley) Rummaging through decorations (the box from the seasons expansion) has a chance to drop items, and you can sell them. maybe see what season has the most profitable decorations as well (if you ever end up doing this) awesome video as always!
As a person who work in the game industry I love to hear the issue seen from the players 😊 and, if could be interesting to understand, why the blacks aren't real black but more grays, I can imagine why. I don't know for sure, because I don't know precisely how the sims team work. But, usually there are some limits with the colors, we cannot do a pure black or we cannot go too much dark with the blacks, because in game will result as a black hole (for how the light bounce with that object), and it wouldn't be ok. And the result often is a dark gray or a gray, and also the colors change a lot, in different lighting, maybe in others world with different lighting will be more dark "more black" or more clear. 😊 I'm sorry if I made any mistakes in English.
The story of your sister forgetting the infant update unlocked a memory. Back when Sims 2 was active & going & your sims could have babies, I shared my discs with my older sister for her to play. When our dad was visiting her, she - without context - commented to him that she needed to remember to ask me how to have babies.
I really want 24 hours unpaused challenge to come back. It was my favourite thing ever. I beg for at least 12 hours unpaused. It was so chaotic and so fun
May is potentially my favorite month solely because of the simsie fundraiser month. Thank you for all you do for fundraising and using your platform for stuff like this!
So I have a challenge for all you sim builders. You are amazing, so here you go. Start with the terrain panet and get all the terrain Panet done. You can change and adjust as long as you are working on that when you are done, you can not go back and adjust anything you are done. Next, do all the landscaping agen you can change, move, and adjust as you are in the landscaping and agen when you are done and move on. You can not go back or move any of your plants. Next is the shell. The same goes. adjust, finish move on, don't go back or change. Next floor, wallpaper doors and windows inside and out. Next, furnish inside and out. Then decorate, and if you need extra plants outside at this point, the potted plants are in the decor, so use it, lol. Idk if any of you will even see or read this, but you are amazing builders, and this may be fun to try.
This is truly one of the best big builds that is both playable on small computers, base game and really inviting for your own adjustments. Very tasteful and inclusive I'd say!
Lovely build Kayla! I appreciate you doing this because I’m too lazy to fill Newcrest myself tbh. You do give me inspiration to get better at building though! ❤
Thank you for making a new base game house, your starter home helped my little brother who is 9 years who first time played the sims 4 yesterday and he was surprisingly good at it i was expecting him to get stressed and he didn’t.
You are such an amazing person Kayla! I can't wait to see your streams! I'm so sorry your dad has cancer I can't imagine that. I'm so happy you're giving back and you're such a thoughtful and amazing person! We love you and you're so amazing! Have a great time in May! 💗
Omg I was 2 mins in and realized this is the house I downloaded from your gallery and have been playing with for the last week or so 🥰🥰 LOVE this build!!! It’s so nice to play in!!! ❤️❤️
Realizing from this video that i am the same age as kayla's younger sister is not what i expected today. like i always think of me and kayla as the same age and her sister as so much younger, so it's really funny to learn that we're both HS seniors rn.
I just played the sims for the first time yesterday and I downloaded this house from the gallary! I didnt expect to see you bulding it the next day! I've been watching people play the sims for so long it's sorta surreal to actually play it
ahhhh this is perfect, my family i’ve been playing with lives in a brick house you’ve built on this same lot and i loveeee the build but that one but the floor plan is very closed off? if that makes sense lol. this is perfect because open concept is perfect for my big house hold
when i hear “20 year anniversary” it’s so obvious to me it should’ve been a lore update :/ oh well, can’t expect the sims team to be creative at this point
with the couches in base game I just kinda wish they would take the plastic-ish one you like and add that really nice texture that for some reason only the turquoise and orangish swatches have
Back when the sims was older, I didn’t know there was the gallery and I didn’t know you could custom build. So I used to pre-made room tool ONLY, I would have outdoor hallways, nothing was connected, to was just- god it was awful. I have a fond memory of when I was only just learning sims could have babies, so my sim had a box baby and I had a kitchen fire. And all I really remember was everyone (I had Geoffrey Langrab as my husband is) my sim and Geoffrey freaking out as the baby’s nursery was burning down. My mom walked in the room and watch as my sim’s baby burned. And then the memory ends, I love the sims
I like how simsie calls this a mansion meanwhile I'm current;y building my "modest family home" that completely fills up a 64x64 lot and costs $300,000
About the grills... I once befriended the Hermit from Outdoor Retreat and she glitched I think? Every time she would randomly visit my house she would get stuck making mood potions until she passed out. And my sim couldn't get rid of the potions because they didn't "belong" to her.
I love it. I like brick style houses. It's so awesome that you do charity for St Judes. It's such a worthy cause. There shouldn't be any child that has to go through that but glad there's help for them and not have to worry about medical costs. They need to have more of those so children can get help without being on a waiting list.
My grandma used to donate to St. Jude every year we still have these ornaments they sent her for donating she was an amazing woman and did so much to help others! She unfortunately passed away 14 years ago from cancer but she had such an impact on so many people’s lives!
The dark spot at the top of the stairs is just the obligatory mansion ghost. Just pondering where they were before being pushed to their death, don't worry about it Simsie.
I agree SO MUCH with the grill! It literally makes my Sims bankrupt! I had a family when I first got Get Together (around November last year) and they moved into this really nice home on the Island part and it was so fun until their bbq caught on fire on LITERALLY THE FIRST DAY! After that, they all had a fear of fire yet they kept using it?? They kept using the bbq until their 8k something simoleans went down to 2k.... Another family of mine uses it constantly and they have had the same issue too, I've made them really nice food yet they'd rather grill something that won't fill them up like a whole roast would 😭
last year i rented an airbnb and it turned out to be the funniest experience because the apartment was literally furnished like an early sims4 house with four different types of wallpaper in one room -- none of them matching. there were wall decals on top of the fridge?? and stick-on wallpaper on the inside of some cupboards. and the furniture had that bright magenta/pink colour and there were stock photos of bright red roses on the walls. its like randomizing a sim but its a whole apartment
I stopped putting grills bc my sims would choose to grill in a thunderstorm or blizzard… even when there’s two full kitchens in the house 😅 and then they’d leave the food outside… and every other sim would risk their life to get a burger…
I’m having total déjà vu watching this video. You made a really similar house in the same plot like a year or something ago and I just was confused because i thought I was rewatching a video of yours
Summized at the end 🚨Idea 🚨 do not ask how i have come to this idea anyways, IDEA : Each lot / world is a different pack/packs . CONS: 1. It will take long 2. the newcrest in my world is so chaotic rn i literally put the mini picnic space i use for my sims to propose to each other in next to the tropicana nightclub and the 4 storey gym lmaooo i need to re-arrange it
It took me until simsie hopped into the tour to realize I downloaded this in one of my main save and have literally been playing in it for a while lol 😂 Great House, Would Recommend
Having a house next to a wedding venue sounds like it could be great, but also could be really annoying. I used to work in a cafe next to a fancy restaurant where people would come for special occasions like wedding receptions, rehearsal dinners, defore prom dinner, etc. It was always so fun to see everyone dressed up and having a good time! But l also know weddings can go quite late and get quite rowdy sometimes, so that's probably not ideal to sleep next to!
There are funtional vehicle mods out there, like cars, mcs, segways. So, yes I AM interested in how you build YOUR garage, simsie. Too bad there is no functional garage doors, only for painting and graffiti paintings.
“On any given day it’s very likely that I’ve cried about columns in the sims 4” Simsie is so real for that
i be using debug columns now friendship with columns has ended >:(

I have done it only once 😢 but it is honestly a struggle! Most of the time is just massive and empty... and I never know what to add
your mom texting you about the infant update is so adorable. you can tell she’s passionate about your passions ❤
For the Infant Madness stream, you could add an adult every $5k, or even just every $10k, so that there are rewards for you as well, and so that the infants don't get taken away because there aren't enough adults to take care of them.
Work smarter not hard cause the Sims just go to the crying toodlers and it's annoying but for this situation it's is sooo helpful
That's an excellent idea! There's no fun in having many, many infants if they keep getting taken away from neglect! Also, a nanny, butler and maid would be super helpful

Good
I really hope they go back and update base game with new swatches or changing textures and adding things to make them look more cohesive with newer updates. AND MATCHING WOOD TONES

You got it!
Building Idea: each room is based on a different rug. The avocado rug, the zebra rug, the princess cordelia rug, the Cottage Living rug, etc.
Ngl that's not a bad idea 😂
I think we can all agree that watching simsies video just makes our day ❤
Yea slay
Agreed
My go to, wether I’m happy, sad, tired, wide awake always simsie!! She’s a true light of the world
Watching lilsimsie’s vids have gotten me through some of the worst times of my life. Truly a legend.

Base game builds are always painful so it’s really satisfying when you actually make something really nice. This is so well done!
I used the shell of this build for the red gen of my NSB, I'm obsessed with this house
This style of home kind of reminds me of the "Home Alone" house. Ive always wanted a house like this IRL. Great Build as usual. ❤

Would love to see you do a public pool for Sandy Run lot in new crest that or a basketball court
THIS LOOKS SO AMAZING
This house exterior is giving very 90’s family sitcom
Can you post a whole list of all of the Newcrest builds you've done?

Kayla, How about base game +1 pack so like base+ seasons, or base and get to work... Loads of video options lol
I recently lost access to my sims 4 so i’ve been constantly watching these videos to pass the time while i wait for access again :))
bestie i love ur content it feeds me (in the most nice and peaceful way)
Having a house next to a wedding venue sounds like it could be great, but also could be really annoying.
That dark spot. Can you put a light in the space below it? And/or a door on it to make it a closet?
This reminds me of the mansion from the Sims 1 intro video when you start the game.
I lost my dad in December to cancer, I'd never wish that on anyone or their family. Keeping you and your dad in my thoughts ❤️
There are funtional vehicle mods out there, like cars, mcs, segways. So, yes I AM interested in how you build YOUR garage, simsie.
Too bad there is no functional garage doors, only for painting and graffiti paintings.
I play the sims 2 to 3 days a week and still haven't played with the infants and I was super excited for them
Maybe you could use a hashtag on these builds so its easier to find in the future (i.e. : SimsiesNewcrest or something)
