TotalOutsider looking in, but to me the Devils added some grit on the back end and shored up their goaltending. Aren't those Hallmaks of a Jersey team?
The Devils added grit, defense, and goaltending all without losing any of their core players plus Hamilton will be back. On paper the Devils have one of the best depth rosters in the league, hopefully it translates to the ice.
BMW line was without a doubt one of the best fourth lines in the NHL in 22-23. having a soft fourth line is a bigger problem than it may seem like, so i while i absolutely love the changes defensively, beefing up the fourth line was an amazing move and tatar in a second-third line spot only helps our offense.

•Dillon: ALWAYS Top 20 in Hits Per Game & #️⃣3️⃣ Most NHL Fights last yr. w/ 7 Fights🤜👊
•Pesce: Big time upgrade over Marino as Pesce is actually a true Defensive Dman where Marino had an outlier season in an outlier NJ season.
•Noesen: is at the very least a right shot lol, but for a real a heck of a right 1Timer good enough to play on PP1/2 while greatly improving the Bottom6.
•MacDermid: a goon who was the 1st player I ever heard refuse a team a #. Wouldn't give Noesen his #23 back & like a child said my dad played as #23...
•Tatar: Ranked#️⃣1️⃣ in +/- his last yr. w/ NJ. +/- is not the best individual stat, yet notable if Ranked #️⃣1️⃣
-Tatar played w/Nico almost all season, it's clear there's chemistry there & w/Tuna on the ice more Goals are scored FOR than AGAINST💯
More depth and physicality is exactly what the Devils needed. If Jack can stop giving the puck away, I think the devils are poised for a playoff run but not quite cup contenders yet.

Terrible goaltending and losing Dougie early sunk them last season, if both of those things change they're a sure playoff team
Don’t underestimate losing McLeod….. that’s really when things started falling apart last season…..
