Thanks!
Thanks for all the time we were able to hang out this past week. Such a pleasure painting with you. I have a lot to think about going forward. Painting is a lot of time spent in solitude so it’s invaluable to hang out with you and talk process. Thanks so much Micheal!
I had a great time Mark! Hope we get to paint again sometime soon!
Loved this trip to the shore. Learned so much and Mark is doing very well
Those wide shots of the beach are amazing!
A good mix of lost and found edges are always a treat for the eye to wander through 👍
love watching the painting process!
Beautiful work as usual, Great light and atmosphere in both paintings 😊🎨
Thanks Tez!
so peaceful! beautiful painting as always
Geez, Michael, you guys are killing it! I wish I was closer to the coast sometimes.
Thanks Scott!
Yes. Edges! Harder in focal points and architecture , soft in distance and natural features. I learned from another artist friend how to soften an edge. Mix together the two colors forming the edge and lay in a stroke of the color mixture. Works wonders.
Great tip!
Really loved the critique comments. You were so dead right about that line in his work and how much better it looked when he changed it! Also his other painting you showed was really superior - not a straight line, just beautiful and varied, abstract shapes! Great job you two!!
Thanks!
what beautiful paintings and lots of laughs. super spot....I wanna be there....oh, that's right i'll be there this summer!....just running all up and down that beautiful coast. life is good. thanks for the inspiration!! nm
Thanks Frances! So much to explore on the coast. I'm sure you'll have a great time!
Really inspired by this. I've been struggling to paint outdoors since winter has hit hard where I live, but I bit the bullet and went out there to do some winter scenes this past weekend, and I'm eager to get out there again. I'm going to really think about this next time I go out, the thing about hard edges. I recently saw the big Monet exhibit they had in Denver and that was a big inspiration to me as well. Even in his early days he was so loose and suggestive with his mark making. I think its so easy to get sucked into hard edges, high contrast, and lose the feeling of the landscape.
Really loved your painting. great work as always.
Thanks Danny! Glad you found this video inspiring. I'd love to paint winter scenes someday.
Really enjoyed this and loved both of your work....fast line is really helpful info. I’d love you to discuss more about the colours you use on the pallet and watch you mixing a bit more ,I’m really struggling with this ...hope you can , but really really enjoy watching your arty adventures thank you 🙏
Wow, this is one of my favorites of yours.
Thanks! Glad you like.
Beautiful , as usual I love the colors. I am learning a lot from watching you!, Thank you so much, your videos are great.
Thanks!
Love your painting keep up your work
WOW! Great two camera shot! You finally realized it after wanting it so long. Yay. :)
Good times painting outdoors with friends, must be fun, very nice painting btw...you always nail it man! There's a moment on the video where you walk on the beach between the rocks you painted and it was surreal because it's like you are walking inside your painting.
Thanks Martin! Cool observation, I'll have to rewatch the video for that moment.
5:41 to around 6:20
Great directional brushwork and values. Super compositional flow considering the choice of composition - I see what you did! The wet sand/ reflection? MF brilliant!
Thanks John!
So much inspiration in your vidéo.
Me after cleaning my room for 10min 🤝 Michael after finishing a painting:

Y’all need those umbrellas for your easels! You sound like you’re losing your voice...take care!!
I've given up on umbrellas since it's always windy. Yes, losing my voice from singing too much!
