      Andie Lim thank u from a fellow BU alumni. That’s what brought me here from your day in the life. Lived and worked Boston for 10 years and both my husband and I went to BU SDM in the 90s. Living in WNY now. Hopefully my son decides on BU for ED1.

    Hi! I'm a little late on this video but I go to BU too! I sometimes see you walking down comm. ave and I've always wanted to stop you and say hi but i've always been too awkward/running late to do so. Thank you for these videos!

    So let’s say I’m an inc9ming freshman at Sargent, what housing possibilities would I have?

  • @quaintleaf1208
    @quaintleaf1208 4 года назад +5

    thank you so much for making this video!
    i'm an incoming freshman and trying to decide housing and meal plan.
    btw, what meal plan did you have as a freshman and which one would you recommend ?
    also, my family home is like 30 min from campus (ie i'll be going home at least every other weekend i think)

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  4 года назад +3

      Ah congrats!!!! So I know that there's this meal plan hack where you can get extra dining points. I tried it out my sophomore year and it worked! So you start off with the 330 meal plan and after a few weeks before you can't change it, switch to the 250 meal plan. Just keep switching back and forth until you're able to get the most dining points. I think you do have to wait a few days in between each switch though.
      But if you don't want to do that it really depends on where you think you'll be eating more. If you'll be eating more in the GSU with dining points, I recommend 330 or 250. If you're planning to eat more in dining halls then I recommend the 14+ or unlimited!

    hi!! i'm an admitted sophomore transfer and I was wondering about the bay state brownstones and how easy it is to get into one of those as a sophomore/transfer?

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  4 года назад

      I'm not exactly sure how easy it is. It really depends on how many continuing students decided to live there and if there are any openings. My little was a sophomore transfer and she was able to live in one. Her roommate was also a sophomore transfer. I hope this helps!

    where do you recommend for housing as a sophomore transfer student, very social dorm

    • @AndieLim

      I think honestly, anything in West campus is going to be the most social!

    I'm a prospective PhD student and will be moving to Boston in September. Do you have idea about graduate on- campus housing? If you could make video for incoming graduate students? That would really help.

      I don’t know exactly how the freshman housing process goes because it’s kinda random. But I will say fill out your housing application as soon as possible!

    which would you say has the most social life for like meeting people and parties ?

    • @oliviaokpara8877
      @oliviaokpara8877 4 года назад

      East

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  4 года назад

      I would have to say West personally because if you're looking to go to frat parties, Allston is where they're all at. And west campus is right next to Allston

  • @amandalo6715
    @amandalo6715 3 года назад

    so if i am in the cas i should look towards living in warren towers over west campus? did i get that right

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  3 года назад

      Not necessarily! Im in CAS and I lived in west all 4 years! It really depends on what you're looking for socially! West campus is closer to sports games and frats, so it's a bit more social. Warren is closer to Boston

    I'm an old alum here, but can't freshmen be placed in Myles, HoJo, 1019, and Danielson as well?

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  4 года назад

      These were the dorms that I could think of at the top of my head and as far as I know to be the most popular ones for freshman

    What about bike like where would you put your bike if you had one

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  3 года назад +1

      There are bike racks all over campus! And a lot of dorms have bike rooms where you can store your bike if you don't want to put it on the bike rack!

  • @brayanorellana2303
    @brayanorellana2303 4 года назад +1

    i saw that you mentioned distance a lot for the campuses. are you allowed to ride a bike to your classes or is there like a policy against that?

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  4 года назад +1

      You can totally ride your bike! There are bike racks everywhere around campus. Students also ride skateboards and scooters!

    Isn't Bay State the Brownstones? What about HOJO, Danielsen, 1019, Myles Standish? Didn't hear you mention them. My cousin went to BU. Spent many weekends there lol

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  3 года назад +1

      Bay State and Brownstones are synonymous to each other at BU. In regards to the other dorms, I only included the ones that are popular to freshmen. The dorms that you mentioned aren't as popular to freshmen as the ones I mentioned. Also please keep in mind that this video is my thoughts and perspective of the BU housing as someone who attends BU.

      @AyeeeItsCam 3 года назад +1

      @@AndieLimoh no no. Your video just showed up on my feed lol. I was just curious. Not judging or anything. I just remember hearing of those dorms a lot when I used to visit.

    Is Myles Standish also an option? Can freshman live there?

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  3 года назад

      Yes, but most do not. If a freshman ends up in Myles, it's usually because they went random, but it's very rare for freshman to end up in Myles

      I'm pretty sure some of the brownstones on Bay State have private bathrooms

  • @racheljusuf

    is myles standish or like danielsen hall open for freshman?

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  3 года назад +1

      I believe so! I know a few freshman who lived there but it’s not that popular for freshman to live. I’d recommend either west or Warren to get the full freshman experience

  • @cathyli5752

    Are the three warren towers close to each other?

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  4 года назад +2

      yes! Warren Towers is just one giant building, so it's really easy to get from one tower to the other!

  • @tjayspamzz4248
    @tjayspamzz4248 4 года назад

    Do freshman normally get single rooms?

    • @AndieLim
      @AndieLim  4 года назад +1

      Not usually. It's actually very rare that freshman would get a single room, but with the current Covid-19 pandemic, I wouldn't be surprised if BU would put them in single rooms.
