This was also an excellent preventive and necessary job on this bike ! There is no need to have an electrical system failure because of this known glitch on this bike model. I hope this video can be watched by and be helpful to others bikers. 🇵🇷
Love your videos! I almost sold my VFR800A yesterday. I backed out at the last minute. I’ve put so much care to it just to have someone else enjoy it? No! 😂
Hey thanks for the video. I have a VFR800 year 2000. The LCD Assy, for USA miles part number (37230-MBG-671) on my bike is not displaying anymore and needs to be replaced. I searched on line for months and so far cannot find it. Do you happen where I can get LCD Assy. replacement? Thanks
Very interesting. Do you have an electric scheme of this ? Usa is too far from Europe for purchase to, and shipment costs and dogane are too much impacting !
Soryy to hear, I do not. Wondering if you can take a peek to the website and maybe pull the instructions to see if you can figure out the schematic. This thing is worth it! I recommend this to everyone. This fixed more than one of my VFrs in the past. www.wiremybike.com/product_info.php?products_id=266
Hey Mike are you asking because I had no lid? I will be very honest with you...The bike had no lid when I bought it and honestly I think it is causing the bike to stutter if I suddenly open the throttle. I have modified airboxes before, for example I removed the snorkle and sound suppresor on my FZ-09 and my GSX-S1000 which increased noise but on the VFR I have not done any research. I am currentlu looking for a lod because I am sure the exposed filter is the cause of the stutter I mentioned above. Does that makes sense? Did I answer your question?
@@ToModorNottoMod thanks! Abs answered. I was curious because I have seen a bunch of your vids and cld not find one explaining why you had a modded lid, so i didnt know if you spoke about it in another vid i havent seen. I figured with your experience working on bikes there was maybe a reason why it is basically gone. I have an '06 vfr so a lot of your content is very helpful with things i am planning to do and fix myself, this topic just stood out instantly when i saw it. Now that you have explained it possibly isnt good, i will stay with what i have so far, snorkel gone / flapper gone / better filter. Thanks again for your help!
Hahaha I have no idea, it was like that when I bought it. My theory is that a dog chew on it after being baked in the Arizona sun....maybe? Gooe eye! Yep, it's my version of a shortly lever 😁. Classic case of previous owner... Bike had been dropped from.both sides.
@@ToModorNottoMod I see. I got two RC46 VFRs One has 68 000km the other one 128 500km. These bikes are fantastic if you keep them in shape. Yours needs some TLC but after that it'll be awesome. Where did You get the VFRness and how much is it? On one of my VFRs the electrical system collapsed, everything melted including the wiring harness.. It took me 2K to get it back on the road..
@@laz1go286 I honestly love this bike. This is my 4th VFR, all have been the same gen though. I sold my first one with 75k miles on the clock. I learned about the VFRNESS in the forums back in 2014, because I replaced the battery on my VFR and kept dying. That's when I realized the cable from the rectifier to the battery was almost melte, or at least the connections were and even at idle the bike did not want to produced more than 12.9 volts. The VFRNESS fixed everything. So I chose that as my first mod for the current one. I just took mine for a 300 mile trip to Sedona, Arizona and did great, I love it. Hey Jay Town, the harness in the video is specific ro the 6th gen, but Wiremybike.com has a harness to address a common issue from the 5th gen which apparently is responsible for blowing up the 30 Amp fuse. Let me know if tpu have any questions. I am not sure if this is an issue that affected all VFR of your gen though. I hope my comment finds you well.

Oh man thanks so much for taking the time to let me know and leaving this comment.
Of course, don't sell it unless you are getting another bike! 😉
