My only issue with wpl is they don't do quality upgrade parts even the metal stuff is just not very good which is a shame as that's the only downside
I agree. Their metal driveshafts seem to be okay, but the metal axles are annoying and hard to shim correctly.
That totally reminds me of Marty's suzuki kei van thing from mighty car mods.. the worlds best offroading channel.

good that you show this... sometimes i feel everything has to either fall into basher or crawler. but even the cheapest rig can be had fun in the right and most simpliest conditions

I have purchased several WPL military style vehicles for my grandson to play with when he comes to my house and he loves them. For the money they are a good value
A local guy has imported a bunch of these, along with Honda Acty etc. I'm so tempted to buy one.....$8500 cdn....what a great little truck to rip around town in.

Wait for the import fees to go back down. Those trucks are what Asia gets around in and that's how they transport stuff. In many countries a brand new one is four or $5,000. I know a few people over the years who have had them and they paid $500 to $800 shipping and just a few grand for the truck with very low miles. It also won't be good for the poor countries when we are overbidding them by 10 times on the same export
My D12 has been abandoned for quite long time. After watching this video, I am inspired to give it a second life on the day after tomorrow.

Looks fun! I love my D14s, so cheap but so much fun. I like them as much as my $900+ RCs. They sure aren't fast or "high-quality" but the fun factor knocks it out of the park. Lol

I found a 370 with all metal gearbox, packaged as 1 pc for $20, eBay and aliexpress both had the same thing and I put it in a crawler chassis that's related to this little truck, it got to 21 on 3s and is quite the crawler, no modification needed

I just got a d12 recently. Upgraded it with Radiolink esc and rx with gyro. It’s like it was born to drift with slick wheels.

I’ve paid for my d12 about 5 times over now firstly with a brushless motor which destroyed everything to making a crawler with the b54?? Chassis. I had to put it away because i was spending too much on it but after seeing this video I think I’m going to get it out again.
I started buying WPL because of realism and I missed hardbody rc vehicles. I like the modeling aspect of them.
i have the OG wpl and i had to put electric tape on the tires to make it drift. and it drifted on carpet pretty decent! but this looks awesome!
Hey we just got ours the other day! Shame they didn't improve the rear suspension but everything else is significantly better.

nI'm sure I'm not the first to say this but you can get 3D printed parts in metal. It costs a little bit more if you have to send them the part for them to scan and render. But it's really not that expensive.
I bought a Traxxas Revo 3.3 without an engine for very cheap (£80)...
It's a bit of a Frankenstein as it now how parts from all manufactures as I converted it to electric.
The way I'd built it with parts I could find meant the spur gear I had was too far away. There was some full metal upgrades from HPI that would fit but they were expensive. I bought one to check it
fitted. I used my Amazon prime so I can send shit back without hassle. Before sending it bac I sent to a company that 3D prints stuff. I sent them the spur and told them I'd need holes drilling in it so it could be light. It cost me the same price as the HPI spur that I then sent back for a refund. Not only that. They gave me the prototype (basically a lower quality item to give a customer to double check everything is good before making the true product). , also. I used that Prototype for 3 months. lol.
I am in the process (awaiting a few parts) of building a 370 powered metal chassis d12, I found a motor including a planetary metal gear box. This might be worth looking into for this build.
Yes, I’ve seen that gearbox… or sure it will covert to 4wd though.

I might have to get one of these eventually. My old Kei Truck, and the little Kei car (both bought after watching this channel) are in the custody of my three year old nephew. I still haven't managed to sneak them back out of his room.....

I love the camera work in the videos, have you got a 5 axis desktop CNC router? Could make your own gears out of metal, they are pretty cheap these days.

My father in-law own’s the real truck. It’s capable 4wd used for farming coconuts from the mountain. With cross lug tyres it can go anywhere.
My neighbors probably think I'm nuts but I like to take my basher around the block while riding an electric unicycle.

the only thing that "sucks" with their keitrucks is the front suspension, as visualized at 6:25.... the controlarm either pops out or it actually gets worn down if you run it outside in the dirt, enough that you need to secure it with a screw because it will keep falling out
Yeah, they can be a little loose. Popping off is better than breaking

Really wanna get a Bushido+ and put a caiman c1 chassis on it, that vid you won 1st with it sold me on making my skeptical decision on getting one. Also what red oil do you use for the universals in the drive shafts and front axles? I was always curious but can’t remember what it was.

Needing to do under house recon looking for what the cat didn't drag in and yeah, it would be great if it had a scoop on the front / HARPOON ! maybe, FLAME thrower.... no it's a wooden house, skip that. Walksnail seems to be the one Stu on fpv futures is 2024 in going for. Also will be doing drain checking so 16th scale is max. and then you can do exploring the London Sewer System or less exciting nookie sites? .... please . from down under 🙃

I have to ask, how do you like that DDF-350? I just got mine and the only real disappointment for me is there’s only a 10 model memory! Otherwise I love mine! Also, what do you use for one handed drive? My thumb is like 5mm too short to really reach the steering knob! Thanks!

oh man. its 4wd now? i just bought mine a few months ago and trying to turn it into a trail truck. its currently being an abandoned project because the new metal gearbox kinda dont work. and then the motor fried.
