Faulty disk drives can be replaced easy though. Still, I have two PS1, one with a working drive, and another for the Xstation. Whenever i get the hitch to test a disc game, I boot one, when I just wanna play without hassles, i boot the other.
This is amazing to have. One thing most people dont know is physical cds and dvds start to slightly deteriorate at the 20-30 year mark,so soon these original discs will start to become slowly unreadable. The sd mods give our games more longevity and fully useable.
That looks pretty cool it would be cool if they kept the design like that with the original parts so you can see the disc spinning maybe some LED lights around the circle plexiglass. But still cool especially if you're a collector and you just want to have something different
It's really a hell of a job. The only "bad" thing is the soldering part, I could do an easy work like change the battery of my Dreamcast, but place this requieres more skill. Great video as always
I got a Dreamcast sold not working and someone messed up that battery and had cut the resistor next to it and blown the fuse after replacing everything and closing the circuit it caught on fire I quickly turned it off and realized that there are people who can even mess up that soldering job. I did see evidence of tampering but you don't know how bad it is until it is tested. I guess I got a few spare parts now.
The soldering and modding part is top difficulty for an inexperienced modder: I basically ruined 2 PS1 before I got it to work... At least I have spare parts......
Oh man just look at that aged beauty. Like a fine woman it got better with time and experience. I can remember going to my cousin house on weekends staying up late nights playing some Jet Moto. Being freak out by some RE1 and blown away by RE2. Trying to get to that next level on Crash, learning on how to make your team stronger on FF7 so I can take out that Ultimate Weapon. The Legend of Dragoon! What?! Being spooked by what Silent Hill is. And doing multiple playthrough’s of MGS1. Just to name a few. Man those were some great times as a kid. It was new and exciting. Thank you Ken Kutaragi.
I think the x-station is a very neath solution if you have an HDMI mod as well... then again, PS1 is emulated almost perfect for years now, so price is a bit high in my opinion.
I was going to say exactly the same. I won't say there is no market for this, but for 99,9999999999% of people interested in playing ps1 games, the money is better spent elsewhere.
Closest I ever got to one of these was my Gamecube I bought a clear pearl full size case and laser caddy for and I painstakingly wired in a string of UV and normal LED's and even put a modchip in so it could play naughty no no discs but have never used it for anything but legit games and I am thinking of SD carding it up and maybe rework some new LED's in there. This was one of the first sold in the UK and its stood the test of time brilliantly and before the LED's starting dying out it looked like a purple glowy cube that pulsed one set when the drive stepper was operating giving it a real custom look.
Looks gorgeous, I wonder what formats it would play?? E boots, or PBP. Not sure if my comment got deleted for mentioning them? But I wonder if the windows would serve a purpose, if you install some LED lights, or glue some figurines in there? Awesome addition to the collection, Wicked!
Dremel and sand paper. We were doing this to Xbox 360 cases back when they came out bc they are perfect for cutting up. Amazing I should have stuck to doing it bc people pay crazy money these days for something so simple to do. If not good at drawing use a stencil. Really easy tho, Dremel it and clean up rough edges with sand paper, high grit soft sand paper.
@@Exitsing no prob good luck, just like I said Trace that CD if you want to do the lid that way and just cut a little bit inside your trace line that way when you sand you can sand all the way to the trace mark to make it a perfect circle. It's really easy once you get used to using that Dremel, you can do a whole lot of stuff with a dremel
maybe cut away some of the metal shielding and also the inner housing so that you can see parts of the motherboard through the glass It already looks very cool, but it can be cooler. I would like to own this case. Will you give it away in a contest? Or does the seller have more for sale? I have some kind of xstation folder, but you don't have it. Maybe I can remove it. Cool controller by the way
Good stuff. I think im going for the mode. You can stick a drive in there. Holds more games. Tight on cash. Will take some years maybe. I bet there will be more options then. There is a hdmi mod as well. Ill get whatever works best then. Just use psone with the chip with burnt cd's. I hear the MiSTer is working on a ps1 core. Good stuff. If i wasn't working id probably just stick with emulation.
I do really like it. And I have several PlayStation one's I can update with this that are already modded. But the bummer is it's not going to do anything for the video output. With the newer emulator is allowing upscaling while it's fun to have the old hardware working on my110 inch projector it's a little hard to give up the smooth hire res graphics
The PS1 wasn’t really a retro console the games were retro but not the console itself the PS1 ruined arcade games classic retro games it was in a different level it had problems where look at the Nintendo 64 and Sega Saturn were better they deserved the retro games more then the PS1 you can see there are problems with the PS1 so instead of Sony releasing a PS1 that plays great they just threw it
@@TexasHollowEarth Alternatively, the Series S can run games from PS1,2, Dreamcast, Gamecube, Xbox, Xbox 360, One, Wii, all the Gameboys, etc. Without mods. (Just to clarify for anyone who doesn't know, the £20/$20 developer mode costs less than even a GDEMU, MODE, XStation add on without an SD card.) Makes much more sense to have all modern and classic games together imo
Love these sd solutions. So much more accessible to people who want original hadware to just look for a cheaper system with a faulty disc drive

Today i learned that some countries refer to screws as "Parkers". Neat.
Not al screws but te type of screws for metal and plastics parts are called parkers
Awesome!! How you cut the shell? It's a perfect cut...

Agreed, I saw the price then saw my Android TV box with internal HDD and it just doesn't get any better than that for me.
I would keep it without it, just because of Light Gun Games.
I like the modifications I have the original Playstation I bought back in the day and I don't want it messed with so I would rather buy this
The PS1 and PS2 I don't play on original hardware because the games look so much better up-scaled. That case looks so cool though.
Best PS1 ODE on the market right now. I own two (PU-18 - US/JP consoles)
Yo this system is awesome! Loving the see through acrylic panels 😎👍✨
You have a really cool channel mate. I first watched your Mega CD model 1 video and since then I really like your content. Keep up the awesome work.
one that still reads discs? (being the ultimate seeing as how its the only one that still works.)

Throw some leds in there it's gonna be lit AF.
Great Mod... Also another great Video from Wicked....
Very cool. Also the ps is cool aswell but I agree would be nice to still have disc functionality. Awesome upload wicked as always 👍😎🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I thought of something you should search for if you don't have them already. Gameboy Camera and Gameboy printer.

It boots Iso, I never tried other formats though.
Very cool
Xstations are pretty banging to be honest I got the console itself with an Xstation for around $200 totally worth it
I Love it
How to make a perfect hole in the lid, or is it possible to buy it custom? Or buying a clear housing?

Also trace around a old CD to make that lid that way. That's what most people who do that style use.
@@iinemesisii8964 thanx for the tip will try on my spare part ps1

God I has been years since I have heard the PlayStation jingle. Miss the days when you could just insert a disk & play a game
i love it think ill get one as i love my playstation.
I'm confused as to why he said you need to have a modchip around 1:41 because the Xstation has its own modchip already.
6:20 Tekken (Eddy) command god (X O X O X O) 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Seller does MOD these systems now a then.
Only nothing for sale now 😶
o0 it is sooo beautiful
MEN YOU ARE A GENIUS WOW
damn it i need the clock!!!!
It looks sick.)
I want one how to find one like that?
Lovely job😉
2 bad you didn't cleaned that bottom shell when you put it all together, also you're missing white feets from xstation board...

can you modify the ps1 slim with x-station, is it possible

Well, no HDMI connection. And my personal favorite fiber optic connection for perfect sound to a 7.1 surround sound.
Awesome
Shit, I was sick of PS1 back in 1999, no way I am playing one today.
Do ps2 pleaseeeee
I had one only it came in 10 different pieces so that one went back to the creator. 😅
Where can I buy this
This mod is useless without the disk lol, at least they could let something rolling for no purpose.
The only thing I like is the SD card system. The case looks like silly and childish. The brown one looks ok though.
When you've got a XBox Series...
give it it an exhaust fan
Haalloo
what it is Game on the End of the Video?
Wicked I would rather use duckstation 😂
Tekken
I think if I opened up a system like that I'll ruin it!😠
Quite the feat to turn an old PS1 into an emulation device. Can modded XBOXes be far behind? 😲
? OG X-Box is THE original emulation king 👍. It runs arcade Killer Instinct 1 & 2 while modern Chinese clones still can't!
