    I have a Rockpals 300 and I am connecting my Firstgear electric motorcycle jacket to it .. this is not a option for most as the electric gear is expensive .. but I have it so why not use it! The coat is waterproof and warm by itself .. the arms, torso and collar are all heated and the coat is pretty form fitting .. which is what you want as it transfers the most heat that way. And at night when it's cold out I switch on the coat till warm .. run outside and pee and back into the car and plug back in .. that's when I get the coldest! 🤠

    I bought a jackery 240 about 3 weeks ago and I've noticed something that I may just be overthinking about, and I'm trying to get other owners of the 240's opinion. I've noticed that when watching videos here on RUclips that on some units, even like the 500 and 300 when you plug in charger to charge that the light is blue when charging and turns green when done. I've never saw a detailed video on the 240 to see if it acts the same when its done charging. Mine never turns green. It will charge up to 100% and the watts will taper down, slowly going to zero and the charger box even gets cold, from not pushing out anymore power, but the light never turns green, it always stays blue. The unit seems to function fine, and I even left it plugged up for like 12 hours just to make sure, but it never changes to green, it stays blue. Can anyone else who owns a 240 confirm if theirs stays blue or does turn green? Like I say, any other time I wouldn't think anything of it, but it's got me questioning why the 240 stays blue but the other units turn green when done

    The Jackery has 240 watts per hour so wouldn't it die in 5 hours with a constant 48 watt draw?

    • @nt40lanman

    I just bought this same blanket and Jackery 240 based on this video. I don’t know how you got it to last so long but mine was dead after 5 hours. I should have done the math before a bought 240 watts/ 48watt per hour is 5 hours. How did you get yours to last so long? I’m a little disappointed as I was hoping to have an affordable heat option to last through the night.

    • @kimlongdota
      @kimlongdota 2 года назад

      Maybe don’t turn it so high. Leave it at lowest temperature. Also cover the blanket with a sleep bag or another cover so it retains the heat so the heated blanket doesn’t have to work as hard.

    • @ryanbozzell8577

    Great video. Would you recommend a heated blanket over the heater in the Escapod? How do you feel about the tradeoff of drawer space in the galley for the heater.

    • @offgridexploring
      @offgridexploring  3 года назад +1

      You could easily save quite a bit by eliminating the heater and using a heated blanket which could run on the battery bank/solar setup. In hindsight, the drawer space is super handy to have more, but depending on climate, the heater may be a bigger deal. If i lived in Alaska, id keep the heater lol

      @@offgridexploring I’d get the heater if I lived in Alaska. I live in California and the weather is good most of the year. I assume we would only need to use heat when we travel to colder regions.

      Does the heated blanket warm up the air inside the escapod? Smart to run the blanket off a dedicated power source so you don’t wake up to no lights.
