Hyrams' "reacting to people ruining their skin so you don't ruin your face after watching them" videos are honestly the best. Also seeing his reactions is funny. 😆
breast milk can have benefits for skin issues, there are definitely studies out there - lots of research about being good for babies' skin and helping chapped nipples etc so I wouldn't be surprised if it was good for other skin issues too. it's popular advice to add breast milk to baby's bath water!
Sooo right!! Dude the best thing about breastfeeding, besides feeding the bub, the love etc, is to be able to get rid of a spot in no time if you just put a drop of breast milk on it 😂
Before Hyram, I was scrubbing my face with St. Ives twice a day, using apple cider vinegar over popped pimples (yes, it burned like hell), not wearing sunscreen everyday, and making DIY avocado, lemon, and honey face masks every week. Boy have things changed😅
My dad actually got a really deep cut when my mom was pregnant with my brother and her homeopathic doctor said to use breast milk over it. It healed in about a week and a half. My dad said he wanted to bottle it up and sell it as a product 😭
Breastmilk had been advocated to use for baby skin treatments, in some places of the world where water is sparse Moms will use their breastmilk to "clean" the babies. Moms will also use their breastmilk they would otherwise need to dump(illness, bitter taste from freezing etc) to add to milk baths! There has been some research but most from what I've seen is through Pediatric studies on breastmilk. They do advocate using your own and being careful of where you source it.
I think the reason these DIY hacks are so popular, despite the ability to buy a good quality product that actually works for less than the amount of the ingredients, is that the primary viewers are children whose parents wont buy them skincare BUT they do have access to a banana and honey lol
For the person with Scarring Removal (min 8:00) Maybe because it pulls out the hairs it creates a local injury or bleeding and the body repairs the tissue in that area. As with micro needling
I think the diy thing is a combination of factors. One is a fundamental misunderstanding of chemistry. BUT I think a bigger part is accessibility. If you know your ingredients, than you have to be extremely discerning to know what youre getting on the market. The less ingredients, the more expensive the product (usually). I know there are great exceptions you've mentioned (and im not even disagreeing with you), but many dont know about them- where to get them etc....this paragraph could go on. Whereas honey is honey. Milk is milk. Theres one or two ingredients to keep up with and theyre at most grocery stores. Im not saying its "right." Im personally a big fan of science and chemistry. I use your recs often 😅. Just offering explanation of what I think it is.
Breast milk is sometimes used to treat eczema in babies, using a breast milk bath. Found to be as effective as 1% hydrocortisone! Paper: Efficacy of topical application of human breast milk on atopic eczema healing among infants: a randomized clinical trial
For the rice water I wold still like to see results further down the line. Often I just had a few good skin days because of other things and in the end the new product either did work great, worked a little, didn`t work or even made my skin worse. I did hear a lot of good things from rice water, personally more in regards to hair care but still.
You should do a “reverse DIY dupes” video, with a focus on affordable products. So, instead of an exfoliating salt scrub of salt and olive oil, you recommend an affordable product that does a better job.
Thank you for getting heated and advocating for acne skincare! I used to do clay masks to absorbs all the excess oil and they pretty much just dry out the skin like crazy and create a shit ton of redness
One of the best things for scars i think is shea butter! I didn't know that but last summer when i did a surgery i had my thyroid removed and the surgeon gave me some cream for the scar but told me to use shea butter also and after 3 months my scar was completely gone! And it was very big and deep so i think it really helped :)
I use a turmeric and honey home-made mask and a turmeric coffee and coconut oil mask for my under eyes and for me personally it doesn’t stain and it works really good I do both every 2/3 days for the past 2 months and now I can really see a big difference idk when it started but I saw a difference after about a month and a half and I have a bit of dry skin sometimes mix and not much acne
I can’t say anything scientifically but as a momma breastfeeding her baby I can attest that breastmilk helps babies scratches heal faster as well as greatly minimizing the appearance of my stretch marks
Hey!!! You’ll probably not see this, but what is your opinion on these routines? I’m 13. ❤ Nighttime: Micellar water- Eye make up remover Cleanser- Vitamin C brightening Nose strips Moisturizer-from okay Anti-Acne Ice face Acne patches Morning: Remove patches Wash face Ice face Anti oil wipes Anti-acne Sunscreen Chapstick Concealer Curl lashes First mascara Blush Highlighter Second mascara Is this an appropriate routine?❤
hi! I don’t know much about skin care and stuff but I do know that you need a moisturizer in your routine always! The one I use is from Cerave and it’s affordable and works wonders!
Could it be that threading and pulling those little hairs does work like a really superficial dermaroller, where the hair removing affects the skin by getting that targeted damage helping the skin to heal faster? That's the only thing that came to mind from that 07:58 part of this video. There's no data on this I guess but it just came to mind.
I wonder if threading helps increase collagen production as it kind of pinches the skin & rips the fine hairs out? I’m not sure what the science is but that’s the only thing I could think of hahaha
Breast milk is great for skin especially for baby's skin! Milk baths are an age old trick for skin issues! But for anti aging? Not really. Eczema? Yes.
I think what's nice about homemade masks is that people who don't have financial independence are able to do them. As a kid, I made skin/hair masks at home because I wasn't making money to buy stuff on my own 😊
Besides the fact that everyone else has explained that there are evidence that breastmilk is good for the skin, even baby skin, if you think about it we already use milk or milk protein or ingredients extracted from milk like lactic acid for skincare and they work, so it would make sense that breastmilk would work. Probably even better in some sense since it was made specifically for humans unlike the cow or goat or etc milk.
7:44 This is one thing I have to completely disagree with. $20 for a tub of facemask is way more expensive than just making it yourself whenever you want it using ingredients you bought yourself. You'll get way more for less making it yourself over-paying $20 for a product. It's also good for poorer people who can't afford to spend $20 on skincare but can afford buying rice flour and using milk and honey they already have.
Hiram was just giving one example of the mask. It doesn’t mean u have to go out and purchase it and be more broke. I get it. I’m broke and poor myself but there are other options out there I’ve seen for $5-10 that work just as same . Using the products for food as he mentioned in several other videos it’s more about the stability of the ingredients in them and the shelf life of the food vs the skin products that are made by chemists who actually know the stability and shelf life of products which are made to last 3x longer than the foods mentioned.
I think there's a tendency to think of all DIY skincare in the same way. Were not all simpletons who decline to use preservatives and proven methods. While I do buy some products (I can't/haven't make a good vitamin c product or sunscreen), I make the majority of my skincare products because a) I get so much more product without retail markups, b) because I can control what goes into the products I make, c) because it's a creative itch I get to scratch while doing so, and d) because I love learning.
Netflix has a series called (un)Well and 1 ep is about bodybuilding and breast milk. (The bee sting therapy ep is very interesting as well.) Aloha and happy 4th Hyram!
I don't know of any actual research papers, but as a currently breastfeeding momma, I have used breast milk for different skincare concerns on both myself, my baby and my husband. And it seemed to help every time... I know you don't like anecdotal evidence, but here you have mine anyways 🤣
Hey! I’m 12 and I have combination skin. My mom does not let me use skincare products because she says I’m too young. And my skin texture is horrible. I’m embarrassed to go anywhere. Any tips for natural skincare??
I would recommend my skincare brand Selfless by Hyram's Retinol & Rainbow Algae Serum to help with acne scars and hyperpigmentation. Just remember to only use it 2-3 times per week 😊 us.selflessbyhyram.com/products/retinol-rainbow-algae-repair-serum
Hello Hyram! I’ve been struggling with acne scars, and whiteheads on my chin, could you please recommend something affordable (e.g a serum) to treat them? Thank you!!
Women's Health UK asked the experts. "Many people see breast milk as a great home remedy for treating all skin concerns. Due to its natural healing and anti-inflammatory properties, breast milk can be used for cuts, eczema and acne," explains dermatologist Salomé Dharamshi, founder of the Sky Clinic. - Copied and pasted from a Women's Health article
I meaaan, i used to!! I used it, and LOVED it, whilst also using the Paulas Choice BHA. May be worth buulding up tolerance first, and not using Retinol as well (just in case). Hopefully it works as well for you as it did for me 😊❤️
I do use apple cider vinegar on my head actually - just mix a few drops with my shampoo once or twice a week. I am unfortunately allergic to shampoo - almost every single brand of shampoo, even baby shampoo :( the ones who don’t sensitize my scalp are damaging my hair. The vinegar helps with that. I can use any kind of shampoo now. You could also try to use aha or bha toners for that, but apple cider vinegar works better for me - just wanted to share if anyone here has the same issues 🙈 (if it burns etc, rinse immediately and don’t do it again. Also, don’t overdo it, it will only sensitize)
A great egg hack has nothing to do with skincare but egg whites are great if you have nothing else and you need to treat a burn on your face if you’re far away from the hospital. It does a fantastic job till you can get it treated at the hospital.
Idk about the breast milk but I knwo that parts of the placenta I.e can be frozen and when u or ur child have a server disease it can be used to help the healing process or for severe burning to heal the skin . But I guess it only woke for the mum and the child like bot for strangers just because of the DNA. So why shouldn't be breast milk helpfull:)
I love your video but you could be a little more inclusive when talking about women. Not all women can produce breast milk and not everybody who produce breast milk is a woman. We can’t forget about non binary and trans folks. But I totally agree with you for the other stuff. Have a great day! /gen

Yes and I was told to put breast milk on my baby's eye when he had conjunctivitis 😂 it did heal it up to be fair.
Sooo right!! Dude the best thing about breastfeeding, besides feeding the bub, the love etc, is to be able to get rid of a spot in no time if you just put a drop of breast milk on it 😂
I love that! That should be more heavily researched and shared with mothers!
It was recommended by my son's pediatrician for my nipples when starting BFing!
It works for cradle cap too
Before Hyram, I was scrubbing my face with St. Ives twice a day, using apple cider vinegar over popped pimples (yes, it burned like hell), not wearing sunscreen everyday, and making DIY avocado, lemon, and honey face masks every week. Boy have things changed😅

😂😂 wow that's crazy!

I try to keep it informative and positive because I know these creators just want to share what's worked for them! 😊

Ah! It's the progress that matters! 😅 keep up the good work!

Hi Hyram, love you, your teeth looks so white, is it becoz of gene or you have a special routine on yr teeth?
I think he has mentioned getting his teeth whitened in the past
Screw it if it is a guy crime you look AWESOME in that shirt. Your eyes are popping and shinny rocks with your hair.
Aww thank you! 🥹

Apple cider vinegar I don’t think so
So I haven't watched your video's in a while and just returned and I have a question...
_Where_ did that jawline come from, because *damn*

Yeah people are using breast milk on their skin. I haven’t tried it yet
***It's not just women who lactate/produce breastmilk***
I remember putting a hair clip on my nose after school because people bullied me and said my nose was too big :)
Aww I'm so sorry that happened to you 🥺💙
Hope you can sense the sarcasm 😂❤
people use things in their house (things they cook with) some people use diy skincare because they can’t afford skincare
I don't know if it's true or not but my sister in law has been asking me for my milk since I had my daughter for just this reason
3:20 Wash your face with what 🧐? She said that if I can't eat it then I shouldn't put it on my face. I can't eat soap or any cleaners. So what 💀

Omg I didn't even think about that!

I love your video but you could be a little more inclusive when talking about women. Not all women can produce breast milk and not everybody who produce breast milk is a woman. We can’t forget about non binary and trans folks. But I totally agree with you for the other stuff. Have a great day! /gen
As a woman who can't produce breast milk - idk what kind of mental health issues one needs to have to get pressed about this. Best to adress it with a professional. Same for the very few people who choose to make a child while not identifying as a woman.

Pretty sure rice water contains arsenic… and she’s putting that on her face
Where did you get that idea? Pretty sure rice doesn't contain arsenic.
Gorl, can you Google? FDA posted in 2022 that washing rice has minimal affect on arsenic amounts, which also means the rice water will have the same
