one thing I learned from having acne for years: less is more. Like honestly, simple is better. I thought buying and obsessing over skincare products would get my skin better, but it just made it worse. Once you find something that works for you, DO NOT CHANGE ITTTTT.
My friend has one of those facemask machines and the only mask she makes with it is a honey mask. Her skin is the healthiest, glowiest of anyone I’ve ever met. I swear it’s because of the mask she uses (she only puts Manuka honey in her mask)
If you buy the honey for it ask her if you can use her machine, and make a bunch of them in batches and put them in an airtight container, it'd probably work pretty well for you too.
I'm so glad you mentioned the pain factor for cystic acne. Back when mine was out of control, my face hurt so much that I stopped caring about how I looked and I just wanted the pain to go away. The pain going away was so much better to me than even how good my face looked after it was gone!
Right! When I explained to others that I was a little obsessed with skincare they thought it was because I was obsessed with the way I looked. Like, no stinkin way!! The acne I had before I knew anything ab skincare was so painful that I didn’t even care how it looked
Hyram, first I want to thank you as you've helped both me and my daughter on our journey to clearer skin! I'm a 38 year old male and I've suffered with horrible acne my entire adult life, and my 12 year old daughter is already dealing with it. Second, I wanted to offer some constructive criticism of your video production. I notice a low humming/buzzing noise in your videos. Do you have an AC running when you record? I'm not sure how you would get around that other than turning off your AC while recording.
I took off my headphones twice thinking it was something in my apartment or someone doing some work in theirs apartment, then I realized it was the video.
as someone who’s had acne for around a year now, i’ve tried everything to clear it. and i did!! back in february my skin was amazingly clear, my dark spots were fading, and i felt super confident. and then i tried the ordinary hyaluronic acid because i read somewhere it helps acne. i used it wrong and made my skin break out. i haven’t gotten it back to the way it was before yet :( but i’m working on it!! we’re getting there :D
I make my own clay masks. Clay, water, done. Sometimes I follow up with a moisturizing serum or a hydration mask. I find clay masks really help my acne because I usually get clogged pores, and the clay helps a lot with that.
Hi Hyram, I just want to say thank you for posting weekly and teaching everyone the RIGHT way skin should be treated. I have grown to love skincare and spend my allowance on products that you recommend as well as thinking of becoming a dermatologist when I am older. Thank you and the whole youtube community loves you x
Whenever I have a skin problem (irritation, redness, flaky, etc), I just stop everything. I don't use any skincare anymore besides water and my super basic moisturizer (and spf if I'm going outside). If you start going in with all your fancy products expecting it to get better, it usually gets waayyyy worse. Less is more!

It's not a clay mask in the second video, it's a modelling mask. It's the same technique, but it's not meant to absorb impurities. It has the same effects as a sheetmask (keeping/adding hydration into the skin) minus the fabric. So you mix the powder with water and it creates a thick paste you then apply evenly; once it's dry, it's like a gel mask you can remove in one go. It's supposedly amazing, and I personally like that you create way less waste since there's no more fabric from the sheetmask (and no plastic surrounding it). It needs time though to really get the hang of it, since you need to apply it really evenly though (or else you'll end up with little bits stuck to your face that take forever to be removed).
Hyram your guidance has helped me change my skin soo much , it was bumpy , filled with acne marks , dry patchy and NOW IT IS GLOWY AF . THANK YOU SO MUCH 💓
18:05 I had similar skin and I got the same results without acutane But honestly, all I started doing was washing my face with water. That’s the reason why my face was so bad. But once I started washing it just with water nothing else, the redness of my skin cleared up in just 2 days. Obviously my acne wasn’t gone but I then started using different face washes and things and tried to find a skin care routine. It took ages but I’m finally extremely happy with my skin and I remember when I was at that point of wishing and praying for my acne to go away but I seriously thought that my skin would be like that for the rest of my life.
I've been doing dermaplaning for myself for a while and have found it helps my acne a lot. I do agree that it does make my face more sensitive, but it helps remove my facial hair; it makes me skin look clearer. I'm definitely thinking of stopping, but I have no other way to remover the peach fuzz :(
I have a weird questionnnn Are u by chance mexican/mixed Mexican? I am and have considered doing dermaplaning but am worried that my dark hairs will show up as more noticeable since they'll be growing in as stumps

Hey Hyram✌🏼 Someone told me that the founder of Caudalie told them that their lil like secret is that if their skin is extra congested they mix in a lil bit of any clay mask with their cleanser n wash for like 3-5 mins and it’s like magic. I now do that n it’s amazing 🤩. I have normal sensitive skin. Love you❤️✌🏼
I developed cystic acne all over my cheeks shortly after I turned 20. Within 6 months I was in a dermatologist’s office with prescription antibiotics. Within 2 months after that my doctor was setting me up for accutane before my scarring could get much worse. It is a very dangerous medication but it worked a miracle for my face. Five years later and I still have a few divots on my cheeks, but I think I notice them more than anyone else.
My daughter was on half dose acutane. Her acne showed no change until the last week of treatment. It’s been about 10 years of clear skin for her. It is life changing. Last I heard acutane helps about 2/3 of the people who go on it. I wish it would help everyone.
Try the Flawless face razor- it's not actually a razor since it doesn't scrap the skin. It's very gentle and pain-free! Just be sure to clean it regularly. It's been a life saver for me.
12:00 I’m no medical professional but it seems like it could also trigger contact dermatitis if she’s doing that everyday. Repeated exposure to a certain thing can make the skin or body irritated even if that product wasn’t irritating to you before, so basically developing an allergy. It happened to me with proactive.
Omg I was planning to add dermaplanning to my routine when I was a newbie to skincare and I was really considering it cause it was every where and it looks so easy 😳😳😭 so glad I was broke to buy a razor lolol
A video on how to deal with serious peach fuzz, would be brilliant! I am a SUPER pale Irish ginger, and have a face full of blonde peach fuzz, and can't seem to effectively deal with it and not irritate the feck out of my poor wee face. 🙄😱
I def agree w the comments! Use an eyebrow razor. As long as you clean and sanitize ur razor after each use (for the next time) and change it out at the right time, it’ll be safe for skin. And go with the grain , not against it. Avoid anything u normally would if u were to shave or wax any other part of ur face and like , just hydrate rly well. Do it at night so that u can do a rly nourishing and calming treatment after if u want (coz daytime stuff with spf , makeup , etc can irritate freshly ‘razored’ skin). You’ll be just fine 👍🏼. Stuff works amazing💯
I love to use the Flawless Brow tool on my brows and peach fuzz. I use it right before my evening skincare routine, so I use it then wash my face then the rest of my routine. I have pale skin that gets red easy and breaks out easy so I highly recommend!
Hi Hyram! I just want to thank u for stepping up my skincare game! Ur a queen and I just love how u rule the skincare world with ur amazing skincare knowledge, I talked to my dermatologist and he was kinda shook that I knew something about skincare! U literally rule a kingdom and just keep slaying queen 💅✨
I'm a licensed Esthetician and I dermaplane my own face to remove the "peach fuzz" and not to just exfoliate but I would never recommend that an unlicensed person do this at home.
I’ve studied the technique and I’ve studied how estheticians do it and I’ve been doing it for just over a month how once a week and I don’t have acne I would say I just have small bumps and small pimples here and there and my skin has definitely cleared up a bit since I’ve started derma planing and I’ve only ever cut myself on my jaw one of the first times I did it but now I don’t cut myself anymore
I literally dove into the skincare world for you, Hyram. Your videos made me check the ingredients list on my products and since then my skin has improved so much. Now, everyone in my family comes to me for skin problems and I suggest them your videos. You saved me. Much love.
started out using those razors around my brows and upper lip, and after awhile thought to use it all over so my makeup would go on smoother…. yeah, AWFUL breakouts on my cheeks and hasn’t gone away since 😐 so so painful
I do shave my chin and upper lip because of dark hair (thanks, genetics!) I usually use an electric razor or if I do use a regular razor, I apply some conditioner first. I still end up getting small bumps after. That's why I don't do my whole face. If I can't see the hair, I just leave it alone. Not worth the risk.
I had severe acne for years. I used accutane like 4 times. and i still broke out. so i went and got chemical peels, RF treatment, masks ,microneedling and mesotherapy. Now my face is shining and my skin feels so good. It costs a lot but definetly worth the investement. The scars however are the most stubborn and need the most work.
Silly question, I'm not well informed with skincare - how is dermaplaning more risky than someone shaving facial hair like a beard for example? Plenty of folks shave everyday and don't have the same issue, is it just because of the cream used vs on dry skin? 🤔
Cuz they shave the beard with a cream , so it doesn't really effect the skin + they do it to just remove the facial hair, mean while the ppl who do dermaplaning do it to exfoliate their skin so it does effect the skin :))
In Dermaplaning you use a certain “razor”, sharp as hell like a scalpel & if you make even the smallest mistake your skin can get very irritated and lead to more skin problems.
i really love hyram hshshsh he inspired me to become a dermatologist....now im like a dermatologist bc my friends asking me abt what products should they put and i always recommend hyram's videos hshshs my skin is really really bad before and now wahhhh its getting clearer i really love hyram!!! love from the philippines!!
I am so glad I saw this video. I’ve never had acne nor skin problems. I’ve had the itch to shave my peach fuzz. I was just about to do it tonight. Nope. Not anymore!!!!❌❌❌❌❌❌
I finished accutane 5mo ago and STILL can't believe I can wash my face with no pain. I'll be using cleanser, feeling my smooth pain-free face like "who's face is this??" 😭💗💗 And my dermatillomania is in complete remission thanks to not having painful acne on my back and face!
I only use a razor on my face for when my peach fuzz gets long enough to start really bothering me, so I do it pretty rarely like less than once a month, and I use a lot of face oil when I do it. For regular exfoliation I just use chemical treatments.
Hey hyram I love your videos :) I’m a young teen girl and my skin has gotten a little worse lately. Your videos helped me a ton!!!! I’m so thankful that you shared this information with us so we can have clear skin 👏👏
Hi Hyram! I really need help with my skin! My nose and t zone gets soooooo oily and even when I cleanse it gets oily like 5 minutes after. But then my jaw and outside of my face is really really dry. And I also have been getting heaps of pimples. This is the steps and products I use: Cleanse- Simple foaming cleanser Jade roll Moisturise- Aloe Vera gel & Simple moisturiser SPF- SunBum spf 30 Pls help Hyram!!! I can’t stand it!
Hi! You might have combo skin which is oily T zone and dry outer cheeks. Since you do jade roll, are you washing the jade roller normally, that might help prevent SOME spreading bacteria
@@kermit6670 hello! Thank you so much that is exactly what I needed to hear. I just needed to know what type of skin I have so that I can find the right products. Thank you so much Have a wonderful day!
I battled acne for years. I finally figure out, with the help of my dermatologist, that I have hormonal acne. The topical medicine I was on ruined my skin barrier. I now only use a gentle cleanser then use moisturizer and sunscreen. My acne is totally controlled with oral medication. If you want to know what I use, comment below. Going to a dermatologist is the best you can do!
One thing I will say about diy skin care is that I can see why young people might fall into the trap of it and it’s convenience and low price point. I remember being in high school making my own masks with Elmer’s glue and activated charcoal pills (loooorrrd help me lol I know it was bad) because I just didn’t have the money or means to buy a nice product. I will say that drug store skin care has gotten much better so hopefully kids don’t have to go through this anymore.
Also the fact that most foods that we eat have acidic pHs even if it's not a lemon or citrus fruit so it's not the best thing to be putting on your face
The mask she used was a rapid setting clay mask. They set very quickly but they still stay wet if that makes sense? . You've got about 30 seconds to get it on your face once you add water before it sets. It doesn't dry your skin out. They're very refreshing. 😊
I only use a razor on my face for my eyebrows and above the lip, but recently got curious about using it on other areas so I just tried shaving the center of my forehead and broke out the next day, definitely not doing that again.
I’m curious, did you put makeup on your forehead shortly after you derma-planned? because I saw another comment that another person had a personal experience like that which caused the breakout and the girl in the video put on makeup shortly after as well so I’m thinking putting makeup on freshly exfoliated skin is what’s causing the breakouts because I personally derma-plane at night and put my skincare on after and it’s actually helped clear up my skin rather than doing the opposite but I mean everyone’s skin is different but it’s a theory
i'm never going back to derma planning ever again. after doing one or twice my skin started breaking out so much and I'm still struggling to fix that. so yeah don't try every beauty hack you see online just because it has millions of views and celebs are using it. always consult with your dermatologist first before trying anything.
Honestly I do dermaplaining once a month or every three weeks because I rly get annoyed by the peachfuzz on my skin esp because around the chin erea i have little black hairs like other people don’t see it but i see it in the mirror and it just really makes me self conscious soi just can’t stop
I'm new to the channel but I love how kind and sweet Haram is. Usually when people watch videos like this I see them being really judgmental. But Haram is so sweet! I'm subscribing, may your channel flourish. ☺️🌸💕
Hi Hyram! I’m curious to see a video on your opinions on prescription acne/dermatology topical medications. I was recently prescribed Winlevi (clascotrone) cream 1% for my normal acne. I had been on Tretinoin cream 0.025% for YEARS and all it did was irritate TF out of my skin barrier and cause my skin to peel all the way around my mouth. I’ve watch pretty much all of your videos, so I just thought your take on how different prescription medications could affect different skin types would be interesting. Hope you’re doing well love 💜
you’re honestly helping so many people to improve their skin health. As a medical student I’m learning more from you that at university hahahaha sending love from Spain!🇪🇸
Your videos have helped my skin so much! If you've already done a video about this I missed it, but what products do you recommend that are solid/package free/plastic packaging free?
Alginate masks are way better than the PVA glue masks. It's great to put over serums so it pushes it against your skin more. And a bit of surface hydration is also nice. More useful in salon use but fun at home too.
you're so humble, well informed and give some very good advice. i love watch your video as a skincare addicted, thanks to you too! I hope your line will arrive in Italy!Pleaseeeee!!love you
I learned about dermaplaining (or more like not doing ur own) the hard way!! for AGES I did it and I thought my acne was related to hormone imbalance when all along it was THAT. my skin is doing better now after 2 or 3 years, but only now did I connect the dots...
RUclips just recommended your video for me and now I just feel wow , why you're so sweet heart and teach a lot of important points I really feel thankful to you
I guess the white faced lady was not using a clay mask, it seems to be an alginate mask, which I absolutely love, they are so great for reducing redness, brightening and calming down the skin. I use them once a week and they help me relieve my rosacea, and are perfect when skin feels hot, they are very soothing. You can apply any serum or lotion or anything under it and it will work better.
can you please do an updated eczema video. I have been STRUGGLING lately with my dry skin, blackheads, and eczema all in one. I only use CeraVe on my face but I dont think its doing ENOUGH. What's else should I try. Is Glow Recipe, Ordinary, Lineage, Koreans skincare, or Tatcha okay? IDK
I shave my face and it’s never cause any problems, I wonder why it causes aches or other issues for some and not for others. (Incase your wondering I do it with a ton of moisturizer or aloe vera gel on my face) Edit: I do want to say I have the polar opposite of sensitive skin, and I’m pretty sure that’s one reason why I don’t break out. I also only really have bacterial acne, some of which is actually caused by the hair on my face.
So glad I found this channel way back in the throes of quarantine. My small skincare routine is my favorite form of self care now. Hyaluronic acid changed my entire EXISTENCE
hey hyram !! I used to use evenprime's daily moisturizer every single day since I watched one of your videos in 2020, and it was INCREDIBLE! Since they unfortunately went out of business, I am in *desperate* need of a new moisturizer that's very similar to it. I tried the Inkey List water cream and it broke me out immediately :( please please help!
I use the COSRX snail mucin moisturizer! I am going through puberty and have hormonal acne and combination skin and it works amazing for me! Soothes redness and any flare ups!

Hyram is the only one I trust my skincare with. You're always the best!!
Try the Flawless face razor- it's not actually a razor since it doesn't scrap the skin. It's very gentle and pain-free! Just be sure to clean it regularly. It's been a life saver for me.
Hi Hyram , if not dermaplaining then what method do you suggest for removing the peach fuzz from the face ?
Love seeing your gorgeous face. You always brighten my heart. Sending much love from New Zealand xxx
You are so kind! Thank you for the love :)
I love how he cares about skincare, but also cares about the environment
A video on how to deal with serious peach fuzz, would be brilliant! I am a SUPER pale Irish ginger, and have a face full of blonde peach fuzz, and can't seem to effectively deal with it and not irritate the feck out of my poor wee face. 🙄😱
That’s why I shave my face with an eyebrow razor. My skin even feels smoother, makeup goes on better
Same
I def agree w the comments!
@@undertakerslaugh Made me break out and turn red when I tried that. Mind you it was ages ago!!!
I love to use the Flawless Brow tool on my brows and peach fuzz. I use it right before my evening skincare routine, so I use it then wash my face then the rest of my routine. I have pale skin that gets red easy and breaks out easy so I highly recommend!
Hey Hyram! I use Pearlessence A LOT! I get it from Tj Maxx and I have been obsessed for years. Would love to hear your thoughts on TJ max skincare!!
I really enjoy your channel. Your knowledge of skincare is so vast! I especially love your shoulder shimmie.
YESSS that makes me so happy to hear! Skin care knowledge ftw :) So glad my videos have been able to help!
I'm a licensed Esthetician and I dermaplane my own face to remove the "peach fuzz" and not to just exfoliate but I would never recommend that an unlicensed person do this at home.
hi why is it bad to do at home? if you're just trying to shave off the peach fuzz
I work in a med spa and every time the estheticians try to do it on themselves they cut their face. 😂
I do my whole face but only every 1 or 2 weeks. I have really noticeable dark hairs but i find that just doing it gently works great
I had severe acne for years.
I’m still so scared to use my ordinary peeling drops…especially when you said you needed to bulldoze your pores! 🤣🤣🤣
Dude I want to be a dermatologist cuz of u!! I never thought skincare would be something I would be so interested in 😅
No wayy!! I fully support your dream, I'm so glad my videos have been able to help you discover your passion :) You got this!!
@@Hyram ahh thanks for the reply!! 😆
@@mayyy5109 shaving is a form of exfoliation
In Dermaplaning you use a certain “razor”, sharp as hell like a scalpel & if you make even the smallest mistake your skin can get very irritated and lead to more skin problems.
i really love hyram hshshsh he inspired me to become a dermatologist....now im like a dermatologist bc my friends asking me abt what products should they put and i always recommend hyram's videos hshshs my skin is really really bad before and now wahhhh its getting clearer i really love hyram!!! love from the philippines!!
OMGG I am so honored!! I'm so glad my content has been able to help and so proud of you for pursuing your dream! Best of luck boo
I am so glad I saw this video. I’ve never had acne nor skin problems. I’ve had the itch to shave my peach fuzz. I was just about to do it tonight. Nope. Not anymore!!!!❌❌❌❌❌❌
Hyram is so professional, like it's amazing
I finished accutane 5mo ago and STILL can't believe I can wash my face with no pain. I'll be using cleanser, feeling my smooth pain-free face like "who's face is this??" 😭💗💗 And my dermatillomania is in complete remission thanks to not having painful acne on my back and face!
That’s so amazing!! I’m so glad you’ve seen positive results, congratulations 😍❤️
created my first skincare routine yesterday !!! thank you for being such an inspiration:))
This is the steps and products I use:
Cleanse- Simple foaming cleanser
Jade roll
Moisturise- Aloe Vera gel & Simple moisturiser
SPF- SunBum spf 30
Pls help Hyram!!! I can’t stand it!
Hi! You might have combo skin which is oily T zone and dry outer cheeks. Since you do jade roll, are you washing the jade roller normally, that might help prevent
SOME spreading bacteria
@@kermit6670 hello! Thank you so much that is exactly what I needed to hear. I just needed to know what type of skin I have so that I can find the right products. Thank you so much
Have a wonderful day!
Use salicylic acid and niacinamide sweetie they’re gonna make a difference
@@malathabushanab2222 Thank you so much
any particular brand you'd reccomend?
If you wanna put veggies on your skin just check out the korean brand skinfood, you can literally get a carrot moisturizer. Benton has carrot oil.
Going to a dermatologist is the best you can do!
what do you use?
What's hormonal acne
One thing I will say about diy skin care is that I can see why young people might fall into the trap of it and it’s convenience and low price point. I remember being in high school making my own masks with Elmer’s glue and activated charcoal pills (loooorrrd help me lol I know it was bad) because I just didn’t have the money or means to buy a nice product. I will say that drug store skin care has gotten much better so hopefully kids don’t have to go through this anymore.
yeah, i completely agree with not dermaplaning. I broke out, i did it more than a year ago and it still has consequences on my skin
Also the fact that most foods that we eat have acidic pHs even if it's not a lemon or citrus fruit so it's not the best thing to be putting on your face
My husband is the same when it comes to the organization videos. He's a hot mess, but my Triple Virgo @$$ is like the videos 1000%! Lmao
I’m curious, did you put makeup on your forehead shortly after you derma-planned? because I saw another comment that another person had a personal experience like that which caused the breakout and the girl in the video put on makeup shortly after as well so I’m thinking putting makeup on freshly exfoliated skin is what’s causing the breakouts because I personally derma-plane at night and put my skincare on after and it’s actually helped clear up my skin rather than doing the opposite but I mean everyone’s skin is different but it’s a theory
i'm never going back to derma planning ever again. after doing one or twice my skin started breaking out so much and I'm still struggling to fix that. so yeah don't try every beauty hack you see online just because it has millions of views and celebs are using it. always consult with your dermatologist first before trying anything.
ok can we appreciate how consistent hyram has been lately like sir great job💞💕💗💕 also not a blue shirt ?? what is this hyram. explain😹😹
Honestly I do dermaplaining once a month or every three weeks because I rly get annoyed by the peachfuzz on my skin esp because around the chin erea i have little black hairs like other people don’t see it but i see it in the mirror and it just really makes me self conscious soi just can’t stop
Really liked how you described how fruit and veggies didn’t work as much as actual products
As a medical student I’m learning more from you that at university hahahaha
sending love from Spain!🇪🇸
Then you might want to check out the actual dermatologists on this app like Dr Dray, Dr Sam Ellis, Doctorly who go way more in depth 😉
Your videos have helped my skin so much! If you've already done a video about this I missed it, but what products do you recommend that are solid/package free/plastic packaging free?
I think he had a collab eith another youtuber on zero waste skincare a while ago.
Alginate masks are way better than the PVA glue masks. It's great to put over serums so it pushes it against your skin more. And a bit of surface hydration is also nice. More useful in salon use but fun at home too.
The peel off mask is algae mask used by estheticians for years. It works as an occlusion for skincare you put under it
I have not hit puberty yet and im so scared for acne so I watch Hyram for advice!Love you Hyram!!❤
you're so humble, well informed and give some very good advice. i love watch your video as a skincare addicted, thanks to you too!
IDK
i love your videos! i do have a question though! is there something i could use to remove peach fuzz instead of using the face shavers? 😁 please help!
wait so then how do you remove facial hair?
I shave my face and it’s never cause any problems, I wonder why it causes aches or other issues for some and not for others. (Incase your wondering I do it with a ton of moisturizer or aloe vera gel on my face)
Edit: I do want to say I have the polar opposite of sensitive skin, and I’m pretty sure that’s one reason why I don’t break out. I also only really have bacterial acne, some of which is actually caused by the hair on my face.
Who's gonna talk about Hyram's shirtgame recently👀
haha trying to step up my styling game! :)
