I was So Hyped with Direct in past
This was so great! I started watching Directs when the switch came out in March of 2017, so it’s been a real fun romp through time. Thank you for doing this, it was fun to watch!
I only started watching Directs in 2019 and it has been a rollercoaster so far. I wish I watched them during the 3DS days since many seem hilarious and meme worthy (but funny enough I had no idea these existed). But hey, better late than never 🤩 that being said, time to watch these directs with you!
The best one is probably the Mii fighter announcement at E3 2014 but yes they used to produce Directs in a way to have parts of them shared as GIFs on bulletin boards

Year late but YES. A true gamer gets emotional over others genuine reactions. I still watch the BOTW Presentation trailer reactions and tear up when people start bawling during it. It's just wholesome. It's also crazy that video games can unleash that amount of emotion from people. It's wonderful

I started watching directs in 2017 and I'll never forget when they announced Labo and I almost had an aneurysm from being so mad. I felt like they had wasted my time to announce cardboard and it failed miserably. Hate it to this day.
I was the contrary i knew it was really dumb but it just remind me of building things when i was little so i was exited for it.
Hate just go to both sides its better to take citrisim on wath can be done better but we know how internet works

You missed the 2017 E3 direct that announced Metroid Prime 4 and the capture mechanic in Mario Odyssey! That was the best direct of my recent memory, other than maybe E3 2019
I learned about directs and started watching them back in like 2019, I actually learned about them through your channel. It was so cool to watch you go through the history of Nintendo directs.

The era of Satoru Iwata. I miss that man so much. He brought so much fun to the company. Directs were his baby. And he is the reason I love watching them so much. Even if the direct sucks, I still get so excited to see whatever they have to offer.
My first Nintendo Direct was January 2017 where we found out about the Switch in detail and the release date for it and Zelda. Me seeing the 2016 Zelda trailer made me aware of the existence of Directs. Been a revived Nintendo fan ever since. Thanks to the Switch.
I also got chills when the splatoon characters were announced into Smash. Which is weird because I don’t play splatoon.
That was pure magic, reliving all the excitements, love these kind of videos
I gotta say, I love my raycon. Bought them with your code but idk if it was just me that got unlucky. After a couple weeks, the case stopped charging my buds :( and well I prob have a weird ear shape cause none of the buds fit me so I can only wear them for a couple hours before it starts to hurt my ear. Nevertheless, I dont regret buying them cause I do enjoy the sound quality and they were the gaming buds which helps with using on discord for me. Just wanted to put my honest input since I do enjoy your sponsor videos and the skits always crack me up. Thanks for your many amazing vids you do Wood! :)

The first Direct I watched was in 2016 when Splatoon was Nintendos new Ip at the time and as a Wii U owner that made me so happy! Finally a fun Multiplayer Nintendo game!

I started watching Directs actively back in 2018 with the January Mini Direct. Ever since then, I’ve gotten super hyped with each new one that’s aired, I’ve gotten really into all the Direct speculation and honestly, when they’re really good, sometimes they can be stand out moments in my years (E3 2019 for example). Directs got me fully into the online community of Nintendo and I haven’t turned back since. Love you guys!

I remember kinda the direct where the 3ds xl was announced, but also that freaky forms was I think was being upgraded from small eshop title to bigger game
I liked the use of "EVERY" and then like 5 minutes later it's like "nah im not doing that, it'd take too long" and is split over 3 different recording periods haha I can relate to that so much. Great vid wood!

I've seen bits and pieces of them before getting a switch. But my 1st full direct I actually watched was the most recent one. Not what I was hoping, but definitely not super disappointing. 1000% more entertaining by watching it live with Wood on stream 🙌
I was crying at the announcement of Banjo for Smash.
I had played some basic games as a little kid on my saga genesis like sonic,, lion King, etc but I didn't really go crazy for it.
But then when I turned 6 my aunt got for my cousins and I a n64 and Banjo Kazooie and i......was.....HOOKED.
Been a gamer ever since.

It's interesting how many people don't remember how lackluster the switch was at launch for someone who didn't care about Zelda and 1 2 switch was kind of a joke there was no reason to get one for me what made me buy a switch was the Mario odyssey bundle and Xenoblade had just been announced so I brought one much later in the year because there's always that wheird transition period between consoles and then I think the switch really popped off in 2018 as they focused on the switch more added many more indie titles and first and third party titles but yeah it's not surprising the 3DS was still the main focus even after the switch launch

This video was fun and I had a lot of fun watching it because it goes back though Nintendo's history and you put a lot of work into it, but I don't think a mini direct video would have the same impact to be honest. I don't want you to have to do the work on something that doesn't sound as fun

I will admit, I also love going back and watching those Nintendo NY reactions to Smash announcements and Directs and all those things cause it's just a wholesome time that really captures what it was like back there seconds after a big reveal dropped. They send chills down my spine too.

Freakyforms was the game I got my 3ds with back in the day and I actually really liked it. It’s really weird looking back, but also fun
The directs and general Nintendo marketing is really fun to look back on as it feels like the marketing was always focused on my age group even with me being 20.

The first direct I ever watched was the one in September 2019. I remember absolutely loving it and I couldn't wait for the next one. However that was the last major direct they had for like a year and a half so the wait for the next one made me sad 😂

I actually own Freakyforms Deluxe! Granted it got it for $10 (new, not even used) so that may say something about the quality of the game. It was fun for what it was... You make creatures and then do the most basic baby platforming with them. The platforming was honestly trash, but making creatures and getting other people's creatures from Streetpass was interesting for a bit. Keep in mind that I was already an adult when Freakyforms came out; kids may have gotten more fun out of it. My favourite creature was one I got from Streetpass named "7 Circles". It was just 7 Circles super far apart from each other, and it actually gave the game some basic level of challenge because if one of the circles fell into a hole, the other 6 would get dragged in and you would die. Also there was the ability to add creatures to your game using QR codes and there is an invulnerability in the game that essentially resulted in people using the QR code reader to launch homebrew software on the 3DS. Because of this, the price of Freakforms Deluxe skyrocketed at some point.
I have never watched a Nintendo Direct because I always find a better summary here

I've seen every direct here. Since 2012-2022. I've never missed a one. I've seen all the special directs.
If we were to count game-specific Directs, I think the August 2018 Smash Bros. Direct would be my choice for the best one of all time-I will never forget how amazing it was to watch that when it came out, from the reveal of Simon and Richter with Alucard and Dracula appearances (and Death killing Luigi), Chrom and Dark Samus being revealed, all of the miscellaneous details shared in the middle, the tease of Spirits, and the reveal of King K. Rool at the end, it truly was the Ultimate Direct for me.
