as someone with all but the most batshit insane achievements in HK, becoming an ultrakill player, I can confirm my skill is nothing compared to these people
I think it stands to the absolute mechanical depth of this game that a move that most players won't even discover by themselves has so much nuance. I've yet to incorporate chargebacks into my gameplay since I find the precise setup is a bit too time consuming for my playstyle, especially because I like to let malicious faces vibe around for a bit and clean up some of the smaller enemies before I take them out. I don't personally have much reason to go out of my way to kill them quickly, even in the coolest method imaginable.

It's worth mentioning that Maurice fires the laser twice, but only on Violent difficulty. It's easier to predict and track the second shot when timing a chargeback. Awesome editing, it makes me happy to see my favorite montage maker SaimizZ in other people's videos!
@@geoffreyprecht2410 that's fair If that's worth mentioning, i think they have a higher chance of firing the laser when enraged too, especially in a row
@@somethingsomethingsomethin6104 yeah that happened to me too yesterday, with two different maurices, i think i once even got it done 4 times in a row, i don't remember, bht they are indeed more likely to use it when enraged
Once I learned how mow to parry the beam, and especially after I figured out that a fully charged pump shotgun does insane damage to Maurice, malicious faces became easy for me. It's funny how many ways there are to easily kill this enemy, though the enemy seems very difficult to fight before you learn any of the techniques
Literally bought Ultrakill 24 hours ago. I didn't even start the second act yet but i feel like i'm gonna want that whiplash very soon... Amazing video! I will style on bloody corpses as soon as i have the skills thanks to you.
seeing cybergrind footage without music is like eating a biscuit by itself. It's not necessarily evil, it's just like... why? add some gravy or some chicken or something!
one small thing about the vertback, you don't need to stand still to land it, just have to make sure that you stop holding any movement keys after you jump :p
Man this is a really good video nice job man. Its funny how at a certain point no tutorials teach you game mechanics or tech you didnt know but every time I watch somebody else play this game I see them do some new crazy flash thing that I haven't before. Its really a testament to how good this game is.
Genuinely one of the best guides for anything I’ve ever seen on RUclips and one of my favourite videos ever. It makes my brain tingle every single time I watch it because your voice is just so satisfying to listen to.
Man, seeing you wait under Maurice for the punched coin to come down and intercept the beam made me wish this game had a taunt. It would totally fit with the character action elements and be so stylish for moments like that
From what I know vertback can be done at any time, any speed, you just have to throw straight down. I haven’t tested, but I have never missed a chargeback when I throw down, because from what I know the coin is always at your position, and that’s where Maurice aims
Fun fact about the vertback: You can actually hit it while moving horizontally, just don't change direction in which you're moving until you throw the coin after jumping. The timing is pretty much the same.
Lashbacks are absolutely sick and i didnt know dashbacks were that viable stealing a nuke is absolutely practical, especially on labyrinth in cg Also you didnt talk about how maurice targets the floor. I cant wait for sentries since they wont just aim down for no reason
I did initially have a section explaining the tracking, but decided a 15min+ vid was too long :( Maurice doesn't fire the beam at you, it shoots it where it predicts you to be, so in that moment of prediction before firing, if you're dashing/sliding/slamming towards them, they may 'flick' to that position. gl with yo chargebacks!
Quick tip if you want to do chargebacks while moving sideways: The most effective way I can see to do it is to look down, and slightly to the right. If your moving left, look to the left, and vice versa. Once you hear the little click of the chargback, throw the coin. A 360 is also really effective
With the new update allowing you to juggle coins with the grappling hook, you can chuck a coin at Maurice mid charge then right as he's about to shoot; grapple the coin so it bounces up right into his face. Sorry if the explanation sucks lol. Amazing video!
I found this out while playing with sandbox. I'd call this pierceback, you can do this with 2 sentries or up, though 4 is maximum amount to be practical. Let one of them sit down, if both of them sit down, it would be easier, before the sentry shoot, toss a coin above the sentry nearest to you and let it pass overhead, right after the "ding" sound, look down, toss a coin, and let it roll. The sentry's bullet will be chargebacked, but just like railcoin, the bullet will go to other coin, which conveniently positioned behind one of the sentry, so that sentry would be killed, the second coin then go to the other sentry. Killing two of them easily. Though it's impractical if there's other enemies, but in 5-1 in second and third room from the exit, there's 2 lone sentries. And might be practical in P-2.
eternal gratitude upon thee! i'm on my first playthrough and God Damn The Sun is the only level I can't manage to get anything more than a B rank on, mostly because of the excessive amounts of Maurice per square centimeter in this level. I'll go back to it and try this >:D
i'd recommend tossing the coin at your feet for anyone struggling with the positioning of this tech; maurice shoots at your feet, so if you just look down and toss a coin towards your "toes" i find it much more consistent than trying to arc it through the air and get a perfect line from maurice to coin to feet.
amazing video, and don't let this become an overly negative thing it doesn't really matter, but you can here a high static noise in the background of your recording. just thought i'd let you know :)
the shotgun nuke thing might be some wild shit but also probably easy to do compared to the first before it just charge and perform what you would normally call a chargeback despite being so fucking brutal in comparison
About the dashback, it's actually pretty easy! aim about halfway between the floor and maurice for mid/long range and raise your retical up towards the bridge of his nose the closer you get to him. The coin moves fast enough you can do it at the last beep of the rev-up and it'll always stay in the apex! Now for the original message I had while writing: The Dashback is the only one I can hit consistently (except the very first one where you walk forward and look slightly down), meanwhile, the ones that you said were consistent were ungodly inconsistent. Might just be me, definitely a skill issue I acknowledge (and have spent 3 hours in sandbox working on since watching this video)
I think it says a lot about the ways the player can approach the game that I was wondering where getting Maurice to shoot a core was until I saw the crackhead combos. It was the first enemy attack combo I ever realized I could do, and I employ it far more often than it deserves. This game is bananas.
I have another chargeback technique which I call the jumpback, where you whiplash a Maurice, get on top of it, jump, and throw a coin downwards, it’s super easy to land the chargeback but getting onto it is the hard part

hyze just a small tip deadcoining for me is most comfortably done tossing the coin after shooting the target coin. Basically shoot and then toss in a smal time frame
