The irony in Eric talking about free speech and Elon Musk only to be silenced by Conrad.
Best thing he could have done. Musk is a lying piece of shit, bad human, bad father, and spews more lies than anyone but Trump.
LMAO!!!
😂
It’s true. Sometimes Conrad is very disrespectful like that. I do not know why Eric puts up with it.
I think he was trying to stop him from getting into politics, he was about to bring up Ukraine lol
I really dont like that Dave Meltzer was one of the main people that they interviewed, everytime he speaks even in the documentary he says that he knows for a fact something is one way then seconds later says probably and that he thinks
He's lost his way. Meltzer is subjective and has made many mistakes and errors. I didn't always agree with his opinions but I subscribed to his newsletters in the noughties. They were good reads when at College and in my 20s. Even the historical issues on the Steroid trial, Montreal Screwjob and WWE buying WCW was compelling reading, even if I didn't agree.
I think he's lost his way though a fair few years ago.
I can understand why many in the business don't like him.
He's better as a writer or in written form. He was ok in the 90s and noughties in short soundbite or occasional interviews but his over audio saturation has worked against him.
He was unsure about snuka murder
You can't listen to anything that that man says anymore. He is broken. I'm pretty sure he went through a divorce and I don't mean to sound arrogant or anything like that but you can kind of see it on his face. He seems worn down and hurt and broken. It is what it is I guess. Either way, the documentary was terrible. Didn't do anything new. They literally copied and pasted stuff from other documentaries.
@@user-ol1zk3kv1d I see your point. I think Meltzer came across better as a writer , reading him off the page with the occasional screen interview or comments like in the 90s or naughties. Short interviews
He starred featuring on screen/audio too much which made him lose his standing and aura. Combined with being past his bes and the above comments you made.
@@user-ol1zk3kv1d Also, only seen episode 1. Fairly good, they told the story well. Nothing new you're right although found it interesting Vince directly from his mouth talking about Backlind being bland and considering Dusty Rhodes (well known facts but good to hear it from the horse's mouth).
I knew it wasn't going to be groundbreaking or have anything new. Didn't have expectations (not had any expectations on wrearlung or WWE for 15 plus years or more, stopped watching it 10 years ago).
Hey Conrad, nobody gives a shit about aew grand slam.
Nobody has cared since the first time they did it. AEW has been irrelevant since Vince left WWE
😂😂😂😂😂
@@jasonwhitman94 ahhhh cmon now whasteen thats not fair 🤣
then nobody gives a shit about your comment too. what a jerk!
😂
I just finished watching it. My only takeaway is that there was nothing in this thing that I did already know, so I was like, "What the hell point was this?" It was very good, though. The story Paul Heyman told about Vince telling Shane about the dagger. Holy shit! I agree. I guess I was expecting more. It still has the same effect of they wanted to bury Vince. That is for sure.
I am thinking the same thing. They didn’t talk about his childhood.
@@JABpentaThey did talk about Vince McMahons childhood? They talked about how he lived poor in a trailer with his step father and he used to beat him when he was a child, They talked about his up bringing.
Did you notice that story seems contradict what Vince said earlier about his father saying he loved him and was proud of him literally the day before he died. The cynic in me wonders if Vince bumped the old man off? Later in the doc Vince again contradicts himself saying that his father never said that he was proud or loved him etc.
@@ReneRamirez-d9h It was largely glossed over. I don't even think they mentioned his mothers name... the same mother that apparently abused him as a child etc.
OK people on this board I havnt seen it and my biggest question was the transition from capital /wwwf Vince Sr,to Vince Jr did it go into get into all the details the roster and angles and how it changed or did they just blow over it with no detail? I'm guessing the latter
I learned Steve Austin dosen't believe in CTE 🤦♂️
No vince doesn’t believe it in regards to Benoit
@@jodaveyWhy'd you start that sentence with "No" though? Both are true.
Steve's just old school. It's like when you have a relative or a friend say an antiquated opinion, even though there's facts to refute it, they just don't believe it. Some people are just set in their ways.. doesn't mean Steve doesn't care abt the boys' well-being.
@@ChrisWooton23 All those wrestlers back in the day tho really come off to me as they don't actually care about the boys in the locker room, they cared more about protecting Vince and his business first. If they did all care for one another they would of done more to protect each other against the company when it came to injuries and pay and working themselves through injuries to the point where most of them are either crippled or dead :/
@@BaileyM666It wasn't about protecting Vince and his business, it was protecting "The Business" as in Pro Wrestling in general. Undertaker touched on it briefly about maintaining kayfabe. That's how it was back in the day. Different time, different standards.
Conrad of course has to bring up AEW.
He has a paid quota to meet
Undertaker has a Ya know urn. I say next 5 streams Conrad has a AEW and Tony Khan jar. If he mentions them during the episode without the documentary bringing them up he has to put money in a jar. Seeing how this is a Mr. McMahon documentary I doubt they come up.
Instantly
Yes, this is a wrestling podcast where they cover AEW. They trash AEW all the time here. And they need to remind you about Grand Slam. This is a business. They cover it.
NFL films summed up tony khan and aew. Boring. Nothing to see here folks.
Haha having meltzer talk was just dribble
Meltzer actually came across really well . I don't like the guy but he spoke well.
The word you’re looking for is drivel.
I was surprised they never talked anything about his mother or his brother
Didn’t they say his mother got a little too close to him…
They also showed his mother
Thanks Eric, a lot of this computer nerds just can’t understand why some wrestlers don’t want to bash McMahon, he was a father figure to 75% of the guys since there were just turning adults. They’re acting like if there father was accused of the same things they’ll just act like all the good things he did don’t exist anymore which is insane
cm punk once said,"I have a father, he's my boss."
if you notice who holds up vince on a pedestal and who doesnt (bret, punk, batista etc) is they treated vince as their employer and not some god.
@@stingrey1571 ima fan of punk, but it’s very obvious he didn’t have a father figure in his life, he has woman emotions and that’s a fact, bad example
@@shawnmoney8055 i also mentioned bret, batista, then you have others like orton and reigns who see vince as their boss and not a father figure.
Like the documentary said, most of these interviews were filmed before the last set of accusations came out against Vince. A lot of those same wrestlers changed their opinion of Vince after they heard the lawsuit.
Why the fuck would they use Dave Meltzer in this documentary? I can’t stand the way he communicates
I agree he is straight up cringe!
Seriously. They could’ve used Bill Apter, Jim Cornette or Keith Elliot Greenberg. They would offer better insight than the tapeworm
Meltzer communicates?!
The better question is why isn't Vince in a cell next to Diddy? Oh because he's white, my bad...
@@FrankWhiteSamCarterreach...
I stopped taking this documentary serious once it became obvious that Meltzer was a focal point. He’s so quick to dispute WWE reports but never has the same energy with AEW.
Again , Meltzer spoke well . People just want an excuse to slate him . There is PLENTY to slate him for but not this.
Stop letting him live rent free in your head.
I’ll continue to watch, because I find Eric to be a refreshing change from all the ass kissing marks you normally hear from, but I’m afraid this show has lost its edge concerning Eric and Conrad’s relationship. It hasn’t been the same since Conrad hired him to sell mortgages, that’s Eric’s boss now.
I wish Eric would just branch off on his own, he’s held back with Conrad.
Correct. He starts talking about 1st amendment and freedom, then Conrad takes offense. Weird that he's on this platform because of that right. America, Conrad. Home of the free. Keep going, Eric!!
If you’re a hardcore wrestling fan, you won’t see or learn anything new. For lapsed fans, or those who don’t know anything about WWE or Vince, it’s suited for them. Overall a useless documentary.
Buddy angry documentaries are a documentary
Nobody is angry Bob. Just giving an opinion on a 6 hour doc that for most wrestling fans is passable.
@@HHHitMan23 What did you expect? I'd understand if someone said it was kinda bad. But useless, like what does that even mean.
I was hoping that in a documentary about vince, we would actually hear more from vince and not a bunch of wrestlers.
This doc is a typical Bruce Prichard / WWE revisionist history fluff piece. It’s a wrestling doc. Not a Vince doc. Heard all this shit before.
Bigger fan of bischoff because of how he was going to start his rant of Russia and Ukraine 😂
This was no hit piece. This was a summary of the career of Vince. Nothing we didn’t already know, but for the first time claimed and named Brock to be apart of the accusations. They talked for a hour about the success of hulk hogan and 30 seconds about the death of Owen hart. SMH
Why isn't Vince in a cell next to Diddy? Oh because he's white my bad...
They talked way too much about Shane too
Literally in the first episode they edited clips to have people contrast what Vince says on the topics that didn’t even matter like his dad.
@@alesitercrimson24I liked all the Shane talk. He was always so intriguing and mysterious to me so it was nice to see him explained more.
I wish Kayfabe was back. Exposing the business i think and constantly talking about behind the scenes of the business doesnt help. At least jot guys lioe me who appreciate old school wrestling. Its tough to get into wrestling these days. Although i do watch a match or 2 here in there. But i cannot watch an entore show. It doesnt keep me hooked much at all. It doesnt feel like a Real Fight at all....
Meh we aint 5 yeqr old no mo
Spell check
Don’t go on the internet
Kayfabe is dead and gone. Accept it
Movies never needed kayfabe, neither does wrestling. Kayfabe today makes wrestling look silly and is an insult to intelligence.
Netflix did a HORRIBLE JOB with the Documentary. Should let DARK SIDE OF WRESTLING do it!!!
They've been known to not check their sources on many of those Dark Side of the Ring episodes. If anyone thinks that Vinnie Mac is going to let anyone other than himself tell his story, you're all sadly mistaken. We are never going to get the "real" story about Vince.
All old news, very disappointing
If you knew everything that was out before this doc, I can't fathom thinking there was anything shocking we didn't know.
but most do not know all of it
Eric: ::advocating for free speech::
Conrad: OKAY ENOUGH OF THAT CUT HIS MIC ROLL TIDE.
man youve turned into a clown.
You should watch 2018-era Something to Wrestle. Man, I think those episodes were setting Internet records for most shilling on a podcast
Eric spot on about Bret. Anytime he speaks he’s either bitching and moaning or gloating. Only dude I’ve ever heard put himself on Mt. Rushmore.
Hogan and Flair also put themselves on Mt. Rushmore. I would argue and say for WWE, the most recognizable babyface champions in history are Hogan, Bret, Austin, and Cena since they each represented an era for WWE.
Conrad is live from the world between the Matrix and reality
Bret in his prime, for 15+ years mattered so much to the entire world of wrestling, not just WWE. They’ll always bring him on when they talk about the 90’s, early 2000’s, Owen, Shawn etc. Whether Bret likes the companies or not, he’s the only one with his perspective in the wrestling world, being Stu’s son, a former World Champion, etc. They’re always going to show us his perspective, whether we like it or not. I’m glad someone like him in his position is comfortable speaking out about his views, “he deserves it” as much as the next guy imo.
I laughed my ass off when Bret said "Shawn was being a DICK" Hahah
Bret is a cry baby! All he does is bitch about other wrestlers like Goldberg, HBK, Triple H, the Kliq, Hogan, Flair….and never holds himself accountable for following a paycheck and making bad decisions with his career!
@@DeezWebbos1978I didn’t say wether he is or isn’t a crybaby. Either way, it doesn’t change the facts of what I said.
Part 1?? You could review the whole series. Absolutely nothing new was uncovered. This was a "my first wwe documentary" for Netflix house wives. Waste of 6 hours.
Conrad is a mark😒
and we care because?
So? What's your point? If you don't like him, put your money where your mouth is and stop listening to his products.
So are you… otherwise you wouldn’t be here
So what? What’s your point?
This series was just presenting WWE to a new generation of what are going to be “Netflix wrestling fans.”
I watched the whole thing & they didn’t tell us anything that we don’t already know. Eric is right, I don’t see why everyone at WWE was so worried about this series coming out, it’s all old news.
I am also in the middle of episode 3 and so far it feels like I’m watching WWE dvd’s or A&E bios that talk about the same stuff over and over.
So disappointed with this documentary series didn't learn a damn thing new
Conrad silencing Eric and not allowing him to talk politically is NOT ON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Major thumbs down, and from multiple accounts I own.
Why? If he wants to talk politics, he should do it on his non-wrestling show. There is literally nothing about this documentary that requires political statements from Eric. Talk wrestling.
Also, thumbs down gives them engagement. In the RUclips algorithm, the thumbs down carries the exact same value as the thumbs up. It’s relies on engagement, not the type of engagement.
@@StonehornI wonder if Eric had an different opinion politically if you would feel differently.
@@Jelly4Do2NUT0 without question. 100% he would allow it.
This!
I can barely make it through this because of how shit Conrad is
Conrad is kiss ass, I wouldn’t trust him in any situation. Conrad plays both sides. He’ll never give an honest opinion one way or the other. Only reason he didn’t like the doc is because it wasn’t enough dirt he could try to capitalize on.
I thought they were pro Vince but there wasn’t enough Vince in it if that makes sense. I also thought they missed a glowing opportunity in not asking Jim Ross to participate. I thought he would’ve been all over this given that he now works for the competition. JR would’ve been the most credible source given that he’s been close to Vince for years, and was also close to the old territorial system.
JR probably knows too much and stayed away.
Let Bishoff preach lol you know Conrad’s a lib and voting for laughing Kamala
That spot where Hulk attacked the iron sheik out of nowhere is the kind of stuff the current product is missing
I always liked how Hogan, even as a face, did heel ish stuff but the actual heel was so bad, that it was acceptable and cheered lol
I wanted to hear Eric’s political take. Whether you agree or disagree, he isn’t vile and violent towards people he disagrees with like Cornette.
💯
Wrestling historians dont realize that Vince McMahon gave wrestlers opportunities. Lets not paint this bad picture of Vince McMahon.
Hey , Vince
How are you ?
At least Meltzer's office is tidy now 😂
I said the exact same thing the first time he was on screen, also dude had some caveman hair when he was on the talk show in the 80’s
👉👉👉 VKM is the Stan Lee of professional wrestling. That’s a FACT and another truth is he has developed a LOT and LOT of good times, good content and a LOT of great pro wrestling legends like for example Hulk Hogan, Andre the Giant, Macho Man Randy Savage, Stone Cold Steve Austin, The Rock, Triple H and so on. So VKM definitely has a legacy already intact BUT dammmmmm WWE has a lot and LOT of hidden garbage during the VKM era that it’s pretty difficult and disappointing to NOT acknowledge. I’m NOT saying VKM is a bad guy I agree with Eric Bischoff on that context that I’m gonna be judging the dude. But I have to recognize the McMahon family is a FUCKED UP FAMILY WTF??? I’d definitely want to be a fly on the wall of there thxgiving dinner. 👈👈👈
Only watched 1st ep. Dont think anything was new. Feel like theyre rushing through the years and skipping the things we'd like to know just to hurry and get to the current bs. If tgis were a doc about a serial killer or someone who deleted their family they would milk the early years and delce deep into the abuse they suffered as a child, the home life, the chaos. Instead we got a brief highlight of what we already know and they fast foward through WM1...like it was quick and easy getting to.
Fantastic analysis of the first episode. I agree with Eric. Vince McMahon is a staple in this industry and you have to be able to separate that from the alleged allegations which are just that until proven otherwise. Well done gentleman.❤❤❤
I thought 4.5 to 5 of the 6 episodes were really less of a "Mr. McMahon documentary," as much as a "history of WWE" production full of a ton of clips that we have all seen several times before. From the way it was being talked about in the lead up to release, it really wasn't what I was expecting.
Thought the exact same thing
Vince just drops "incest" and somehow no one says a word about it in netflix... wtf was that
They didn’t want ppl to feel bad / build empathy for Vince.
What's up with Vince's shoe polish eyebrows?
Next time he cuts you off treating you like a child Eric, tell him to go eat a Big Mac.
You were trying to make a point about free speech, and everything you said is true.
Can't stand Conrad
I have watched the documentary , and once again it is the same stuff we have already seen on wwe dvds , it is absolutly not worthy and deja vu. It was kinda boring , i think the show on netflix is over rated and there is nothing new about WWF history.
The episode about the screwjob is useless compared to what we have heard on youtube before or darkside of the ring
83 weeks is da best. Yall leave my homey Conrad alone. kick rocks
Truth hurts huh? 🖕🖕
The only new and exciting thing I saw was Vince saying FUCK...he said it about 5 times in the first couple of episodes. The first 2 episodes were jumping all over the place.
Only people who have never been abused will sympathize with Vince.
Those of us who know abuse know that Vince became what he hated, a monster, because deep down he's fragile.
You either come out a protector or a perpetrator.
Vince was a vindictive narcissist.
He was a perp.
Im begging documentarians to stop talking about the fucking attitude era, steroid trial, NWO, Owen Hart and how nobody liked the rock so he changed character
Wrestling documentaries and podcasts have been telling the same stories with the same information for the last 25 years, not a single shred of new info has come out
The only reason they had Meltzer is because he was the main person doing what everyone on YT does now, back when there was no YT (he was on the talk shows & at the events/trials). Notice they had Meltzer & Not Alvarez? Brian doesn’t matter as much as he thinks he does, kinda like Conrad 😂
I want a political podcast from Eric. Conrad is afraid to lose his ch. when so many people are unaware of the truth Eric was about to unleash.
Agree with Eric, though I’ve only seen one episode. The only reason to release this with what has come out about Vince recently is to distance themselves.
Sounds like all the 24/7 wrassslin is life and nothing else exists fans didn’t enjoy this. Bro it wasn’t made for you. If it was it would’ve been uploaded to some random site only yall mfs go to
For long time fans this was a let down. But for casual or non fans I guess it was pretty interesting.
Overall a good doc, but not as much of a deep dive than I hoped for.
Oh and I think it was funny that Meltzer had more interview screen time than anyone else. Or at least it felt that way for me
Spoilers, the six episodes amount to a nothing burger. I recommend watching 83 weeks, but you can skip the docuseries
The doc was horribly done it had little to nothing to do with Vince it was more so just history of wwe that has been done over and over by wwe better, the only thing Netflix did different was cut it together to make storylines seem like negative things about vice the way the pieces them together with interviews. Even with the people all saying it was story lines and had nothing to do with him as a person.
Vince McMahon was a visionary and one of the most successful businessman and should be given that credit
Eric gets it. 👍
personally,I didnt see anything new that we havnt seen before in other interviews and documentaries, Hope it gets better!
The documentary looked comparable to the various RUclips documentaries. I didn't learn anything new. Netflix could have seriously saved a boatload of cash and just licensed those videos.
I'm 4 episodes in and very few new nuggets of info. This was the TNA of documentaries.
So this documentary turned out to be just a normal wwe doc with meltzer overly commentating to add drama. Felt like I seen this all before until the last 30 minutes of the last episode
it felt like a WrestleMania Doc (The true Story of WrestleMania) in the beginning, nothing new was told
This is basically the Vice documentaries all rolled into one on Netflix.
Thank you Eric! Your takes are better than the documentary!!!!
I did not know about the ringboys but everything else I know I kind of Let Me Down
I am now watching 83 weeks, after episode one. Eric is right. I enjoyed epp one. Its a nestalgic feel. Hehe i wont be surprised if i watch them all like conrad did
Skimmed through it. Saw Meltzer and didn't care anymore. Shit we already knew. Wating on the 50 Cent produced Diddy documentary now. Then ill renew to Netflix
Satan's biggest lie ...how you feel is what matters not the actual truth
i was emotionally abused by my mom so i have respect for you eric and vince
Very underwhelming nothing we didn’t already know i wonted and expected more behind the scenes of Vince himself his personal life who he is in the wrestling space ..instead it was just an outline of his years in the business and where he took it nothing anyone didn’t already know or could look up very public knowledge nothing groundbreaking.. iv gotten way more out of your podcast over the years than this very public knowledge documentary
I might as well listen to 83 weeks to get the info about Vince. I wanted some good stuff and was presented poo poo
It was a history of wwe documentary that we've seen a thousand times
hey eric you need to tell tubby to be quiet, we watch this for you not him
Vince McMahon is the 🐐 fck them allegations
It was the Monday night war doc. Learned nothing new
Calling out the media, I love Eric lol!
I’ve got ep6 to go, but there’s nothing new here if you’re a wwe fan…. The doc focuses mainly on the attitude era, clearly the most “shocking” era. If you’ve watched any wwe doc before, It’s the same stories told by the same people just slightly differently. If you have never watched wwe you’re probably be shocked but if you’re a life long fan you’ve read it, watched it and were probably shocked at the time but it’s not new
Thank you!
After watching all 6 I’ll say if you’re a hardcore wrestling fan there’s nothing really new. The final episode dealing with the allegations was the only info that was sort of fresh.
I wouldn’t call it a hit piece on Vince. Quick spoiler.
One emotional moment was Shane talking about his dad, when he returned to WM, and the moment they shared , a loving father with his son.
Bruce sure called it a hit piece. Poor Vince.
It was dude.
@@jkranites it was a A&E WWE style doc. The last 20 min went over the latest headlines. The rest was an overview of the WWF/E.
@@Rob78169 na. That was not what it was billed to be. But I get it and so does Eric
@@jkranites 👏
I am not Vince I am MR . McMahon! 😈
I love it
Agree with eric when dave steps out of his lane
Yeah I’m on episode 5 and basically everything they’re talking about, we all already know unless you haven’t been watching anything previously
Im enjoying the documentary.
We're not all judgemental Eric!!
Eric if you lose Conrad, maybe go to James or WSI, you’ll get so many more views. Conrad sucks. Bad.
James is good
Conrad getting pissed because Eric said about Russia invading Ukraine He didn't like that
Conrad’s a bitch. That was. Nonsense
The filmmakers can’t decide whether they want to cancel Vince or tell an objective story about him. They keep switching between making a hit piece and a wrestling documentary. One-sided at times and tries too hard to be edgy. Most of the content has been covered before, so there's little that's new. While some parts are well done, the film as a whole lacks direction. Nowadays, it seems more about pushing moral superiority than actual filmmaking, as if they're trying to preach how people can’t be "evil."
o i see, dont talk about politics because Eric has some right leaning beliefs.... i bet if he was spewing that Democrat BS, Conrad wouldn't be so quick to shut him down.
You guys and your fkn ads!!!!!
At 51:00 let Eric go off 😂
Eric needs a new host
FREE ERIC BISCHOFF
Went through all 6 episodes and altho i dislike Conrad, i have to agree with him, there was 0 new information. I dont even consider myself a "wrestling fan" and I still knew all the stuff they showed.
Eric is correct.
VINCE IS A VISIONARY
Belzer's blood was actually pooling on the ground if you look closely. Way more than on his jacket. Watch it again
If Eric didn't do interviews for this doc, he should definitely talk to his people about compensation. Because it appears that Eric is heavily interviewed for this doc.
I completely agree with Eric my first thought watching this is that it's the most well produced wrestling documentary I've ever seen.
Haven’t finished the pod yet, but didn’t we all just hear Bischoff say he wasn’t a part of the doc a few days ago? He was ALL OVER that doc lol.
The production was very high quality, but it was a letdown for hardcores.
Man… I’ve always clowned Bischoff… since the days of Wheel Chair Wraaastling…
But after hearing this… the way he speaks with respect and reverence for Vinny Mac…
I have a new found respect for you Eric. You are a much wiser man than I gave you credit for.
PS
Long live FREE SPEECH. Throughout history the censors and war mongers have NEVER been the good guys. This time is no different.
People here are complaining because Meltzer was one of the main people that they interviewed. What a bunch of crybabies who dont know about meltzer in the past. Dont get me wrong, i despise meltzer these days because of his pro aew remarks.
I 4:39 i have to disagree. The Jake the snake doc was fantastic. This was good for a casual wrestling fan. Out of all of it I wanted to hear about Chris and Sable. Other than that, it was pretty much repeat.
