Nice clean video with a scary clean garage. I can see the boards for low slung cars are cut to short lengths. Going to snag your idea because shorter boards will be lot easier to move than one long one.I have a mid rise lift and have discovered that a 4' square moving dolly will fit under it when partially raised then when lowered it will lie flat and I can easily move it around like a big creeper.I have room to push my lift to the side against the wall out of the way when not in use so I don't have to straddle it to bring the car in.A dolly can be made out of 2x6s with 3" steel 600# capacity casters from amazon or northern tool. Casters are about $6.00 each. This lift is really handy for most of the work I do. I have had this lift for about two years and never want to go back to using jack stands. Thanks for the video.
another alternative is the QuickJack. Purchased one myself for DYI car repairs. Gives more clearance to work towards the middle of the car if you need to do exhaust work unlike the scissor lift. I have a brief vid of me using it on my channel.
Despite American people and Media says, the USA can't get enough of Made in China stuff. Made in China is very good quality, considering the price people are paying for this.
Good review but would have been better if you had lifted an actual vehicle so we could see how high it went and the amount of access you have with the lift frame across the bottom of the vehicle.
Top class review, I'm a bit restricted with the length of space I have. Wanted to know, when the vehicle rises. Does it move forwards or backwards any amount? Looking at the vehicle side on. Sorry if this sounds confusing. Thank-you
Hello good review. question ... do u have to bleed the lines for the first time use? i have a similar jack from Atlas i can't seem to find a bleeding port..
You don’t need to take the lift arms off. Just swing them in wards and lay a 12 x 2 on each side of the table and lay your table top on them. You can screw the top down to the 12 x 2 if you want to. That’s what I did.
my biggest fear with the scissor jack is the scissor joint the bolt just never seems to be sized right, I would like to see a minimum of 1.5 inches of hardened steel at that bearing.
No offense, car questions, but a lapel mic would still be 1000 percent better. I teach audio mixing to high school kids. The voice is just bouncing off of every surface BEFOREHAND we here it. And it's not very audible. In lieu of a lapel mic, you could consider voiceover. Thanks for letting GManGT and myself comment creatively.
how wide is it? mine looks exactly the same except its made by TMG industrial. but literally exactly the same just some parts are grey on mine. but anyways, im either having trouble linging it up, or my 3 series BMW is wider than most cars or something because it came out short and cant meet both sides on my lift points. figuring just making longer arms to swing out but yeah, just not sure if my model is useless or not. says 4'3 inches wide.
Nice video! I really considered one of these. My two car garage ceiling height is 8.5 foot. I want it for oil changes, tire rotations and brake work. My concerns are when it’s professionally delivered getting it off of the truck, unboxed and into my garage. As you said it’s very heavy, 900 plus pounds I’m sure. Once in place I really have no plans to move it around, will pretty much stay in place. I see it has the dolly but I have concerns when maneuvering it around to position it. I assume you had yours delivered? If the case did they help you unload it etc..
Could you fasten the 2x12 down and leave them there all the time. What length are they 10 footers .I am opening a small body shop I think it would be awesome, but I'm doing oil coats also would this be OK for those purposes. Any feedback back you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thanks very much Dale
Looks like if cars front is placed where the hydraulics are you could possibly remove the transmission from a RWD vehicle? Any attempt with this? Much appreciate your time.
Tony, Tony, Tony. Not a carpenter I assume. "2 by" material" is (these days) really 1 & 1/2 inches thick while widths are also reduced by 1/2 inches. So a 2 X 12 board is really 1 & 1/2 inches thick by 11 & 1/2 inches wide. (With your choice of length which is still "actual".)
Except they won't ship it to us in Canada... even someone like me that lives along the border. I tried having it shipped to the closest store like we did with a milling machine years ago--nope they don't do that anymore. I tried having it shipped to the shipper's closest terminal... nope won't do that. I tried having it shipped to my rental address that has received items as large as tractor tires for me... nope they classify them as a freight forwarder and refuse to ship it there. Cancelled my order each time. When I called again to speak to a manager, I left him a voice mail and was completely ignored. They can suck it.
A note for our American friends, though... their 25% off any item super coupons that come out around the holidays DO work to buy them, and will save you $375 Buy one before they notice and add it to the list of items it can't be used with... lol
@@carquestions so if I want to pull it out in the middle of the garage when i wanna work on something and move it to the side when not in use pretty easy to do that?
Yep - 2 minute job - needs a little muscle but a 120 lb woman might struggle with it - stick it in, push down, and start pulling, pushing or turning@@kevins5268
@carquestions awesome this was one of my main concerns buying this. I have a 3 car with 10 ft ceilings but I would like to be able to move it to different areas of the garage. You answered my question thanks! Also if I bought this second hand would it be difficult to load on a trailer that has a ramp

so, you are just betting your life on hydraulics with this? I don't see any physical lock struts or anything. I wouldn't get under that without some stands. I like the QuickJack over this so far in my research. Thanks for showing us around your lift.
oh I see -that clutch handle is working a long cable that releases the locks? That makes me feel better. I was thinking it was just preventing accidental release of the other lever.

good review.

Do the pad mounts come off. ..??Thinking of putting a steel top on it and making a lift table out of it.. lawn mowers, snowblowers etc.

12 ft and yes no problem - just make sure to put something over the hydraulic lines so your undercoating oil doesn't destroy them

Can a scissor lift be install outdoors with small pebbles on the ground or do you need a cement floor.
Not recommended - the wheels need a smooth hard surface
Eduardo Madrigal drop some blocks in the ground sticking up about an inch for the wheels to sit on and keep it covered when you’re not using it
Awesome vid! Totally adding that to my arsenal! Can you recommend some brands to research? Thanks.
Scissor lift - The Lift Super Store

Titan SL-6600

you do know most cars now are 3 - 4 1/2 inches off the ground now even civics if they have stock skirt kits on them
Tylor did you know - the most popular vehicles sold are SUVs and Pickups by a very wide margin
Anyone do their homework... which one is better, there are several out there
All I can say is mine has worked perfectly and never had any issues to date - except the paint job isn't the greatest - started to bubble year 2

the cross pin is just safety back up! It is held by the hydraulics!
who makes this Scissor lift, what is the model number?

Appears to be Hemi Road Runner Model # LSS6MR
Where did you buy in from here in Canada?
A place called the Lift Super Store

No idea since I don't sell this - contact the seller in your area
How stable is it since the lift is narrower than the vehicle when lifter to top height of 4 feet (Canadians 1 meter)?
1 metre = 39 3/8 inches eh! I have never had an issue with its stability - but I'd bet 2 guys could push it off when full up some effort
