as a peruvian woman i completely admire kendrick not only because of its music but also for his point of view of prostitution and the way he see women in poverty and violence scenarios. i really respect his empathy for these victims often called "sex workers"
I feel like Kendrick connects some dots in his albums like with this song. He told this message to his sister and told her to not let this happen to her. Then in SAMIDOT I think Kendrick was talking in the perspective of another character in SAMIDOT and I think the person was talking about his sister. Then in u, Kendrick talks about how his sister was pregnant. I think she was 13 or 15. But ya, I just wanted to expand on the ending.
I actually talked about that in the original version of the script, just with this specific video I tried to create a specific tone and message and it didn’t fit so well. But yes all of what you’re saying is true and there’s 150m people who’ve heard SAMIDOT and only 30m who’ve heard this I think a lot of people miss it
I agree it’s one of his lowest streamed songs on spotify it only had around 30 million; originally I had a different intro mentioning that and talked about its connection to SAMIDOT, but it didn’t fit into the tone I wanted
When I listened to Section 80 and heard Keisha’s Song, it made me feel so impacted that I had to pause my listening to section 80 right then and there. Months have passed, I still haven’t finished my listen.
@@nosyweird2972 i do not care anyone who's gonna say they couldn't listen to an album for months because of how sad a song is is weird and i will clown them
I listened to Keisha song a lot(section.80 is my second most favorite album) and everytime I hear this song it sometimes make me feel sad cause this song has a very deep meaning good job for this video 🫶🏽
7:31 he was an undercover cop, presumabely wearing a wire to record their conversation. "thought he was wired up (on duty and technically recording with intent to jail keisha for prostitution) like a pair of jumping cables, his eyes was closed shut prior charges he had waived em" (he chose to close his eyes to the fact that keisha was doing illegal activities because keisha let him tap, waiving all her priors presumabely for the same thing)
@@drxzi1 Hey don’t worry about it, I watched all of Adventure Time cause one of the songs in the 8th season sounded cool. I’m a relatively new Kendrick fan anyways so I gotta start working through his discography
Yeah, I tried to have this tone of voice to match the darkness of the song but it ended up just being kinda boring lol. Next video there is a lot more enthusiasm
sure it’s normalized in hood environments but that don’t take anything away from the horror of it, and to add onto it something tell me you haven’t done sex work. sybau and let somebody speak on a message of a song, u not tough for bragging
It doesn’t matter how often that happens, if you watch the video you’ll see how Kendrick sets up the twist at the end of the song that makes it so much more dark. People get killed all the time, but when it happens in a movie it’s a horror movie

What about the girls that don't get paid. Are they victims. I knew girls that have as much sex as sex workers.
You should watch half Nelson

This actually goes more in depth then I thought it would good job 😊
Shorter than my other two analysis videos but much better script imo
Keisha’s Song is the most underrated song in his whole discography.

@@drxzi1Also dumba*** Kendrick fans call this one of his worst songs what a travesty
People say that?
Keisha song is so good and the fact we got a different perspective from her sister on Sing About Me is just great storytelling

Personally I think the meaning behind for sale is even scarier when you realize it’s the devil speaking it’s hard to listen to that alone
Did you know that the guy doing the corus is actually dead?
No I didn’t

Not me thinking he was gonna talk about “U” From TPAB 😂
When you consider that this song does have a connection to ‘u’ though…
HEATHERS IS CRAZY 😭🙏
Oh don’t worry, there’s another musical reference in my newest script NO ONE CAN STOP ME
It was a crazy good song but when you release what it’s about it hits you like a truck.
Never heard of this song but I’ll listen to the whole album to watch this video
I mean you don’t gotta do all that but I hope you enjoy it
