Also Alfa Romeo Brera is good in all points for a tier 1 car, (including handling), it makes this car the 3rd better of the tier 1, and it only lose for Mercedes CLK 500 and Nissan 240SX. Need for Speed Carbon is nearly one-on-one Most Wanted 2005 under the hood, and Most Wanted had notoriously bad rubber-banding (mainly in the form of AI cars just randomly getting speed boosts if they're behind). It is entirely possible to do a perfect run and lose because the AI just decided to teleport behind you and set its velocity to 900mph on the approach to the finish line.

That's why nfs is weird and good at same time. A dodge charger (For example) can go 0 - 60 MPH in 2 seconds or less in carbon... It's like try to make people like muscle car by increasing they acceleration in the game. But it's valid for the game context, we can see these cars in this game can race easily against mercedes and aston martins (Which in real life is impossible)

The muscle cars can hit only until 200 KM/H, and acceleration is scary low, like 8 or 7 seconds. Supercars can hit over 350 KM/H and acceleration is like 4 - 2 seconds. You can't put em to compete.
It's one of the fastest car in the game if tuned properly. Almost all the muscle cars are meta on Carbon. Vette and Viper being the best in terms of acceleration.

This is how i always wanted the canyon races to be.....oficially canyon race should have that drift physics enabled by default in the game just like it was in drift race events.........then evrytime we use to exprience like the evo nd challenger drifting around the canyon as we use to see in the games intro.....it would have been a lot more fun ...

Idk I always played this game with the Camaro SS straight to Chevrolet Corvette, and I drifted throught the entire game. And it works perfectly without drift physics mod.
Overtaking is always the far easier option for me. People always say "use the Viper, use the Viper", but the Corvette is just as good, if better, having essentially the same acceleration, but with a hair better handling (not that it's particularly good anyway). Having an insanely fast car makes any canyon race a breeze. Why bother doing it the normal way when the whole thing can be over in about 15 seconds or less?
I win against Darius with 3 cars, Ford GT, Viper and that nissan Z350, thats not that easy but is totally possble win with all cars i think... (my next try go be with the gallardo i tryed in the past but i never pass canyon with her).
Acceleration isn't everything; good handling in tight corners does technically equate to more speed. Whether you overtake with an absurdly fast car like a Viper or Corvette immediately and stay in front, never having to bother with corners, or overtake with a slower car that stays right on their ass and can slip past them in the corners, still a much preferable option to the normal points system. It may take a few restarts, depending on the car and your luck, but there's really little point to winning the normal way if the golden snitch is so easily attainable with a decent car.

There's nothing more badass than beating someone with an old 70s car... In MCLA the first thing I used to do was get a 69 Mustang Boss, max it's stats and finish the game with it (whenever possible, obviously). It made the game harder, and made the wins I got way cooler. Old times.
I get why most racing games extend the track boundaries above the physical barriers, but if they'd just remove the sparks and impact sounds it'd be a little less immersion breaking than grinding against an invisible wall.
That's the speed it can get to in stock form in this game because EA gave it a 5-speed gearbox. In real life it can do 210km/h but it only has 4 gears.

for some reason when i use the mod and then i finish the race it doesnt actually finish the race and i gotta reset the race the only way to prevent that is to disable drift physics at like 80% of the race

It's funny yet creepy how the AI cars act in canyon duels. Unnatural acceleration on the 1st round. Then they are slower on the 2nd round. If they pass you, they basically let you pass them back 😂

I really hated the drift mechanics in this game. the way cars counter-steered itself when entering a slide really throws me off that I start counter-steering too, which in this game would end the drift even in a RWD car. At least NFSU2 acknowledges the player to at least know a little bit of surface driving knowledge to let them control the oversteer themselves, all the while keeping its arcadey feel.
I overtook him when I first tried Subaru for this race, but it took me couple of times cause I d lose due to lack of points. And then I overtook him right before that long straight
Too much of accelerating imo. Use the straight to gain as much momentum as possible, turn hard and release the accelerator. Only hit the gas when you about to hit a wall and try to just tap it instead of full throttle.
This was definetly the worst of the original "Underground" type games. I was blown away by how much less content it had compared to Underground 2. If Underground 2 had 20+ different bumpers you could choose from, Carbon had 3. The costumization was super watered down, not sure why. It didnt even have sound systems, and i dont think you could even change the mirrors either not to mention a ton of other stuff.
this game wasn’t really meant to be a “underground” type of game, they devs weren’t probably as focused to customization here (they did add autosculpt as a new feature though)
Carbon customization wasnt bad at all, each car had 4 widebodies and 4 autosculptable set of bumpers. Out of the black box games probably Most Wanted had the most basic customization.

He used a mod mate, you should try it too (if you only want too tho), personally its more fun to use the augmented e-brake while doing sprint runs on the canyon, it feels more initial D lol

This was definetly the worst of the original "Underground" type games. I was blown away by how much less content it had compared to Underground 2. If Underground 2 had 20+ different bumpers you could choose from, Carbon had 3. The costumization was super watered down, not sure why. It didnt even have sound systems, and i dont think you could even change the mirrors either not to mention a ton of other stuff.
this game wasn’t really meant to be a “underground” type of game, they devs weren’t probably as focused to customization here (they did add autosculpt as a new feature though)
Carbon customization wasnt bad at all, each car had 4 widebodies and 4 autosculptable set of bumpers. Out of the black box games probably Most Wanted had the most basic customization.

With full upgrade Chevrolet u can beat darius at first turn. and instant win. darius car have bad acceleration, so u can pass darius at first turn.

Btw i had to use unlocker because fuck it,i wanted to do it with Carrera GT and unlocking everything with Nissan 240sx was pain and i started with Camaro

Was this on Manual? I've been trying to figure out the drift for a long time now, was it depend on the shifting when cornering or just the timing of the brake and E-brake.
He used a mod mate, you should try it too (if you only want too tho), personally its more fun to use the augmented e-brake while doing sprint runs on the canyon, it feels more initial D lol
