    Glad you added the comment on speed loader clearance, especially when using "target" grips. It is wise to check speed loader clearance regardless of what grips you install, combat or target.
    Although it should be obvious, shooting a handgun with target grips like the ones you show installed with the opposite hand is near impossible. Yes, I've seen people try because they forgot to take it into account. Laughable at the range but not so much on the street. Be careful and choose wisely.
    Thanks for posting. Cheers!

    I like wood grips too for my S&W 60.

      Hi Jay, wood has the added advantage that it can be easily shaped and modified. You can grind and sand the grip, re-oil it to make it fit your hand perfectly.

    Le guacette in legno sono più belle e più prestigiose, ma sono anche più dure e non riescono a dissipare l'energia come quelle in gomma.
    Per cui ok quelle in legno sul 617, ma sul 686 io metterei quelle in gomma. Oltretutto se non sbaglio viene venduto proprio con guacette in gomma.

    Hi, could you please share dimensions of grip pin (part no. 35)? I've got mine without it and it's pain to get original part in Europe. Thank you.

    What is the name of the sights you put on your 617. What fame size is the 617 I want to change mine

    • @ozzistraightshooter9273
      @ozzistraightshooter9273  Год назад

      The sights are from LPA italy. Most Smith and Wessons have sights that are similar. If it is a revolver made recently it should have 3 mounting screw holes under the rear sight. The front sights can be different. some have the pinned design and some clip in. You need to check your revolver to determine which front sights you need.

      Hi John, sorry but I don't know where you can buy grips. In Australia I could help you, but the Australian government has prohibited us from exporting any grips or other gun accessories. My videos are intended as educational and are not focused on selling. They are to help shooters get better results from their firearms.

      @@johnnapolitano7443 I know it’s a little late, but the best grips in my opinion are from Altamont Company. It’s where S&W gets their grips made and you can get them with the silver medallion.
      Grips usually go for $75-$100. They’re 100% Made in the USA and I’ve put a set of on all my revolvers. www.altamontco.com/pistol-grips/smith-and-wesson

      Hi Jayson, Yes the 686 and 617 take the same grips. There can be some variations but generally this is true.
      Smith and Wesson have basic frame designs that they use for different models and they build different calibers on the same frames.

      Thank you. Doesnt the 686/586 have a square butt qnd the 617 a round butt? I like the last wood grips you put on. What brand and model is that one. Wo dering if that will also fit the 686/586. Thanks for rrsponding. Like your videos. Keep it up mate

    • @ozzistraightshooter9273
      @ozzistraightshooter9273  3 года назад

      Hi Jayson, many 686 / 586 revolvers have the round butt, it is the most common style today. You are correct that some do have the square butt and you really need to remove your grip and have a look at the frame. There are some revolvers that have had square butts fitted post manufacture as well. I have these grip made to order but I don't like to promote products on RUclips. I try and keep my channel more as an educational resource. Thanks for your comments on my channel, much appreciated.

    Molded combat style worked much thinner than these is more my taste & in cocobolo or some other exotic & moisture resistant hard wood !!! Made to fit the owner only , & not some sort of made to fit most concept !!! generic factory offering hinting at custom !!!
