Ok so when I say I am a complete beginner I mean it, like I’ve barely dipped a toe in the world of crochet. For some reason I thought I’d be ambitious and start with a full ass turtle and luckily your video was so good I ended up making the cutest turtle ever! Love it! Thanks for all your tutorials, I’ll definitely be making more 😊
That's exactly what I'm doing! Only ever made scarfs and blankets before so fingers crossed I can do this 😅
so glad to know this worked for u! I started crocheting yesterday and have now decided to make this for my bsf baby that’s coming in march haha
@@saigeelizabeth8284 awesome! I’m sure they will love it! My biggest tip is to make sure you have the right crochet hook for the size yarn you get! 😊
@@aleahchittum1520also, make sure to not get yarn TOO big or else you’ll have a turtle bigger than a basket
@@oreoxloopz3123 so true! Although that might be fun! Could use it as a bean bag chair
just warning everyone, i decided to size up from size 6 yarn to size 7 instead, (chenille home) and use an 8mm hook bc i wanted a slightly bigger turtle. only on round 13 and the head is already big enough to wear as a hat (covering my eyes!) just a warning!!
I'm just about to do the same with a 8 size hook and I'm thinking to shorten the rounds so the head isn't massive!!
I should’ve read this sooner 🤦♀️ LOL
i used a 9mm hook
Same but I am just trucking along
I used a 8mm hook and my head is almost a hat as well! I also ordered 35mm safety eyes for it! They fit perfectly!
My friends baby was born two days ago and she also has her turtles. So this is a perfect present. Of Course I will have to sew in eyes as its for a baby
I just finished my first one! It’s beautiful and has 35mm safety eyes! I am so proud! Thank you so much for the pattern!
This turtle pattern is fantastic! I’ve made and sold several large ones and this weekend I had two jumbos available for sale. Sold one in hot pink and mint green and took order for same. Thanks so much for sharing your talents with all of us
How much did they sell? If you don't feel comfortable answering I understand
@@ambersnider6296 $55 for jumbo
Omg I loved this entire video. The instructions. Robin. First time on the channel. I’m sold!!! ❤❤❤ thank you!
This looks so cool to crochet. I recently just started a crochet. Ian’s I love what you crochet. Your channel was a partial inspiration. So thank you
Yay! Thank you for this tutorial! I love your creations!
i did just finish my first crochet blanket, and now i want to try and make this turtle :D cant wait! gonna buy the things i need tomorrow! hope i success :D
i just finished making this and i absolutely love it!!! i’m more of a beginner with crocheting, but i really wanted to try to make this. the only weird thing that happened while making it, was that it ended up being 16 inches instead of 13 inches lol. but it’s okay. thank u for the tutorial!
Thanks so much for your tutorial! It's so easy to understand. I got success after my first try and it turned out very cute. I'm thinking of making one more with different colors.
I love when I come across some post like your their so easy to fallow. Thank you for posting!!❤
They are really easy! And she doesn't go really slow either! She plans them out so well without making it too simple and yet it's not too hard either
So easy to understand and follow up. Thank you so much for this
Thank you. If you make a book with your patterns I will definitely buy it! I’ve already bought an individual pattern from your Etsy shop and will be coming back.
I’m so excited to do this for Christmas presents 💗
SO pretty, thank you for sharing!!❤️🥰
I honestly thought this would be really difficult even though I have been crocheting for three years. I only started Amigurumi last week and this is my third project. The tutorial is brilliant, so easy, and the finished project is very good and looks so professional! Totally amazed I could do this, thanks to this very comprehensive and fabulous tutorial. Subscribed. P.S ....please please please can you do a pattern and tutorial for a giant frog? Thanks!
Thank you so much for the tutorial:) easy to follow along, I’m excited to start part 2 :)
Thank u for making the instructions more clear and followable it's make my brain takes is more easier 🙏🥰 love your videos
first, I love your channel. I have made so many of the projects you have created tutorials for. Second, when the kitten popped on screen I got so excited.
Your videos are amazing! Thanks for sharing ❤️
The pattern is great for begginers! I crochet like 4 years and I love this pattern, but I love using tiny yarn (for 3mm hook) and it's pretty
Your tutorials are brilliant. Thank you so much 🙏❤❤❤❤
Juat found your channel and was so grateful. Thank you for the clear instructions and speeding it in process as well. Definitely earned a new sub. Turns out I already subscribed to you 😂

I’m so exited to crochet this
Beautiful cat lol love your work
Just made this and it turned out so cute! Thank you for the great tutorial
How many grams/balls did you use
@@sonyadale8553sorry that this is late but I used 2 skeins for the body/fins, and 1 skein for the shell.
just made it!! used 6 weighted yarn and a size 10mm hook. i absolutely love how much and perfect it came out!!
How many yarn did you use?
I literally just finished your other turtle tutorial last night 😂
I love watching your vids, they make crochet patterns so much easier to follow!! Is there any way you could try a dog by chance?
I absolutely love your videos .i just recently started picking up crocheting and your video was so easy to follow. Ive made 2 turtles so far and working on the third and fourth one. Plus with Ive used thicker yarn. I used 6 chenille and 10mm hook. The shell looked like a sombrero on my head.. Wish i could upload a picture of it. Thank you
Just made!! Ty nice and easy to make :) xxxxx
Love your channel especially the turtle and donut patterns!
If you don't mind, what is the brand/link to the hooks you use?
Love it! Thank you!❤
Would love a XL frog and XL bear tutorial!! 🐸🐻
This is GREAT!! Thx so much. Austin,TX USA
Yay a new video!! I love your videos and creations!!
Thanks for the tutorial! The head was a bit big for my taste, so i stopped at (4sc, inc,) did 5 rounds of sc, and then started decreasing
me encanta! gracias!!
I love it and you're good teacher. Thanks 😊
i love this tutorial, thank you soooo much, you are amazing💗🙏🏻
i really want to do this, did you need the second yarn of the body color?
Sammy is so cute!!!
Can someone please help me how to double or triple size of the pattern? I can't figure it out how many rounds and what kind of stiches I should add to the pattern and keep it in shape after resizing.
your kitty is adorable
Thank you very much my dear 🙏❤️
I made it and its adorable
OMGG, my bestie has the same hobby as me, crochet, and we were both going to make a big plushie for eachother and we both made turtless! I made a simple baby pink and hot pink one while she made a sunset one!! SO CUTEEE😊😊
Can I ask what size skeins you use? I only have 100g skeins but not sure if it’s enough 😊
love this turtle
How can I add the petals to make it a flower turtle, as with the small flower turtle video? Thanks!
How much polyfill (stuffing) did you end up using?
How much polyfill would you estimate to have used? 2-300g?
Can I use blanket yarn and a 8 mm hook? How much would you sell these for?
I loveeeee this
J'adore ❤❤❤, je fais du crochet que depuis 3 mois et les tutos sont très bien expliqués. ❤❤
Serait-ce possible de faire un tuto pour un koala en taille 33 cm ou 25 cm. Continue 🥰🥰🥰
What size turtle would be similar size as cow you make? Please 🙏🏻 making this today for a friend.
Are you able to make a no sew version
OMG I love Sammy ❤😂
She’ll be so happy to hear that 😂
Gosto muito do teu trabalho e queria muito fazer este tamanho por favor podes fazer o passo a passo em Espanhol ? Pois em inglês eu não entendo obrigado
How many grams of poly fill do you recommend?
I'm halfway through 😃🐢❤️ I used a chunkier yarn so mine is HUMONGOUS 😆🙌💖
How did your shell turnout ? I used a chunky yarn and my shell is so pointy in the center it sticks up , I used her directions very carefully and now I’m just disappointed
@@brandonyafanaro9710for plush yarn you often want to skip the first round skip to round 2. So for example if it’s R1 : 6 sc in a magic ring & R2: increase in each, you would just do 12 sc in the magic ring instead.
This is Awesome! Thank you!
My head is big I'm using a size L hook 8mm bc that's what is required is that right
Can u use red heart yarn?
Can you use Red Heart 4 ply yarn ?
how long is the thread needed to make the body and shell of the turtle
Is this pattern done yarn over or yarn under?
Can I use this pattern even though I crochet left handed? Thanks
Can I have a tip bc everysingke time I try to do this it doesn't seem right
Am i able to just double the stitch amounts? If so, would that give me a turtle double the size? I want to make a reallllly big one
Double as in: head do 12 in the magic ring instead of six and for the legs instead of 7 do 14?
My head is Soo big bc you said to use what the yarn required,so I used an 8mm hook .is that right?
When doing the decreases… do you do the 5SC for example and then decrease all the way around until you get back to the stitch marker?
you do 5sc then 1 decrease, 5sc then 1 decrease, 5sc 1 decrease… all the way around until the stitch marker.
@@kahansss THANK YOUU SOOO MUCH ☺️☺️ It’s been giving me an headache lol
@@ruewenacalloo4578 of course! glad to be helpful
Is a skein 50g?
what size safety eyes did u use?
How many skeins did you use?
Next you need to do a tutorial on a land turtle🐢
Alguien sabe cómo se llama el hilo que usa?
Can i use a 6 ,00 mm hook?
Soooo if I don’t use fluffy yarn how big will it be?
What size eyes do you use?
Hello!! This is awesome! I would love a tutorial for a tortoise 🐢 Thanks so much for all your hard work, I just made your hedgehog yesterday and it turned out amazing!! 🦔
Yesss we need a tortoise, I have one in real life 🥹
@@crazypumpkin2886 aww, that’s so cool!
I'm enjoying this but I'm really new to amigurumi and despite following the increases exactly, I'm getting a cup shape rather than a disc. I keep having to try to stretch the yarn out so that it flattens but what I really seem to need are a lot more stitches (when I stretch out, I create more holes for stuffing to peek out of). Thanks to any more experienced crocheters for help!
Okay so I learned this last year the increase by 6 does always give more cup shape and its the stuffing that shapes it back to round. If you want it a bit more rounded naturally try using 7 stitches it will end up a tad bigger but not by too much but will be a more round before the stuffing. Hope that helps a bit. So just remember it would be 7 in the magic ring and then follow the same pattern but make sure it's always increased by 7 then instead of by 6.
Has anyone made this and can anyone tell me how many balls of yarn for each colour is needed
hi! just wondering why you use a smaller crochet hook with this yarn? Hobbii’s website recommends using 6.5mm/K hook and I’m wondering what would happen if I used that. thank you!!!
It's so the stitches are tighter and stuffing doesn't show through and makes a longer lasting toy
What size are the safety eyes?
My name is lily and I love this video
How much total yarn have you use for this tutorial means how much grams etc
If i want to make a bigger one, would You reccomend multiplying the amount of Stitches bye two?
I was also wondering if that would work as well, but on a side not, maybe try Bernat extra chunky baby yarn - it’s like double the size of chunky yarn so maybe that’ll help.
Does this have to be jumbo or can you make a smaller version?
Vc poderia traduzir em português adoro seus trabalhos mais não entendo nada
This is amazing and I can't wait to start making one!!!! Would you consider making a giraffe maybe?
She has! Scroll down to near the bogeying of her videos and you will find it!! :)
@@indematharu4781 Omg I didn't even notice!!!! Thank you so much for letting me know 🧡💛
where i can find the eyes?
Excellent explation where we can understand easily and start doing thank you madam you made our work go easier thamnkyou
Wow
bonjour je voudrais svp avoir le lien pour la Tortue moyenne je ne l' ai pas trouvé merci
So if I pick the same yarn as you and follow the instructions exactly BUT with a smaller hook is the turtle going to be smaller? Or I should use a less thick yarn aswell??😯
The smaller hook will make a slightly smaller turtle
Or use the same yarn and follow her original tutorial, it’s half the amount of stitches.
