  • Megyn Kelly is joined by Charles C. W. Cooke and Rich Lowry of National Review to discuss the new details about the FBI’s raid on Mar-a-Lago, the inclusion of "deadly force" language and whether that was just standard operating procedure, whether the raid was necessary at all, and more.

Putting that aside (i.e. assuming the raid was the right call), the FBI did do the right thing by contacting the Secret Service first. But that's not the issue. The issue came before that in that they were given a standard use of force order when you have anything but a standard situation. You have 2 separate federal agencies that have a use of force authority on opposite sides. Luckily, (as far as I understand it) the FBI did give a heads up.

The secret service disarms other law enforcement officers who come into the president’s (former) home. It’s a major safety issue for the secret service and the persons they’re guarding. There should have been communication between the two federal agencies where the FBI would be allowed in upon being properly identified. They also should have been shadowed by secret service while inside of the property.

The idea that papers are more valued than the life holding them is evil. No justification that lives need to be ended if they forcefully deny complying with the warrant. How does someone not sensibly say, "if things get that escalated, withdraw and de-escalate the situation while maintaining the absolute siege of the compound"? This is absurd and people need to be removed from their positions over it. Why is it a must to show absolute authority over every spec of dirt, air, and space for all moments of time even at the cost of lives unnecessarily taken? When the govt plays these types of personal vindictive games, it is proof and validation that the same govt needs to be reduced in power and capabilities.

It common practice to give other law enforcement a heads up if they are known to be in the area. If you dont it does create a dangerous environment. I’m not sure if we can call the FBI agents “law enforcement” anymore. Not totally sure you could ever have labeled them as such. It’s well known, government agents in most departments are political enforcement officers.
