This was an awesome video and will be running several test later. Im sure im gonna find out why, but why is it not easier to remove the controls/board to make room for the wrenches vs removing the whole thing? As an automotive tech sometimes complete removal is necessary or sometimes just making room works.
I just had to stop by and thank you for this video. It helped me diagnose my problem (water flow) after a few frustrating hours. Thank you for creating this content!
This is an incredibly helpful video. You helped me to understand the steps and trouble shooting steps logically. We have this heater and currently the shower is the only place that doesn’t fire up the water heater. Every other facet can call for hot water successfully. We do have a pretty hard water. Somewhere in my shower system the water flow isn’t enough to “call for water”. Thanks again for the very well done video. Subscribed to support you and your channel. Keep it up. 👊
Thanks for the information I had the problem with the outside shower. Hot on shower head off. Finally did enough reading and videos to figure it out. 8 month new rv owner, still learning.
Great video! I verified my water flow, then checked again the unit and still no heat. The display showed no water flow. It had acted like a loose connection, working then not working. Once I ruled that out I was going to disconnect the flow sensor to see if it was stuck, as I was on the road with no multi meter. Before taking anything it apart I open the high temp relief valve to see if that might flush out any grit. Luckily that fixed the stuck/sticking flow sensor. It has worked flawless for two days now.
Hello thank you very much for your excellent explanation. I have subscribed to your channel as I find it very interesting. I have a question, I am living in an RV with a water heater Water Heater without Lair Tank I read that these heaters have an anti-freeze mode. Could you explain to us about this and also that you suggest to me, keep the city water directly connected (I have a heater hose) or suggest to me what fills the water tank and disconnect the hose? The temperature will drop to 10 degrees next week and I have that concern. Thank you!
Followed your algorithm. Propane, water pressure, etc all perfect. Measured pins 2 and 3 at 4.9V when unhooked from the flow detector. Checked at all harness points. 4.9V. consistently. However once the harness is connected to the flow detector measurement drops to zero, therefore no way to detect a further drop when hot water is turned on (Klein tool, professional electrician). What now? And thank you!
What DC voltage setting for the test? Different numbers on my meter. 500, 200, 20, 2000m, and 200m. I checked on every setting with no water running. Didn't get any voltage on the higher settings. Got way different readings than 5 volts. So, bad valve right?
Our just started having issues and the oddest part is we’re getting three different temps out of all of our faucets including our shower, bathroom sink matches what we have it set at. Shower is not getting past 106 and the kitchen sink is struggling at 101. I’m so confused
Great videos! Do you have a video or plan on making a video of stuff you keep on hand, like sealants, or awning motors or anything like that?? Thanks again
I set the temp to 115-120. Bathroom sink gets hot and temp in control panel climbs to the correct “output temp”. But kitchen sink gets waves of warm water then settles on kinda warm and the control panel only states 92-95 as output temp. I can shut off the kitchen sink and immediately turn on bathroom and that one will work and get hot. pressure is good, like a normal house.
Love your channel!! So helpful!!.... I have a question about an issue I'm having with my RV fridge....it was working fine until recently, but now it's not cooling on propoane? I've cleaned and checked the Jet and the Burner tube.....I'm getting nice blue flame, (not very loud though? Not sure if it should be?) but for some reason the fridge isn't getting cold on propane? However it will when I run it on the generator? Any ideas? Is it an airflow issue? Thanks.
I've had this tankless water heater for over 6 years. Never had to mess with the water control valve. Our water tank is on the exterior of the unit. This makes for some very cold water (45-50 Degree Fahrenheit) coming into the system, and maxing out at the faucet at about 102 degrees. Recommendation was to decrease the water control valve allowing more time for the unit to heat the water. How much does this turn, as it appears to only turn about a quarter turn max, unless it is stuck?
Hi, I was searching for tankless water video issues and your video showed up. You have several Rv tech videos that I will be looking at. My question is I just a new 5th wheel a week ago that has tankless water heater. This all knew to me. Took it out camping for the first time. I have set at 115 but the temp went up to 122 as soon as I introduced cold water to balance it temp the heater shut off and got cold water. I’m doing something wrong ? Or is the water bad and take back to the dealer . Thank you
You are not supposed to use your cold water tap to adjust your water temperature at your sink or shower -- you only set the temp on the water heater, and use only the hot tap. If you ran the cold water, it messes with the water flow through the heater and it makes bad temp adjustments like this.
The gas is full and the water pressure is good also and it shows on the panel inside the RV. I have it set to 105 but it only reaches like 99° like I say it gets hot like go to 103 104 and then it goes right back down to 99 and stays there.
My Girard heater will heat water, but as you attempt to adjust the water temp, it will either completely shut off the water heater, or go as hot as it will get. There is no in between with a comfortable temperature. Any help on this issue would be much appreciated.
This is exactly what I needed!! You are so informative, thank you so much 🙏
I'm so glad it helped!
Thanks for video

You’re VERY good at what you do!!!…
And, i watch you EVEN if what you’re talking about has nothing to do with my R.V.
You are an excellent teacher! Thank you so much for this video
Thanks for the information

what if this part is leaking?
I have a tankless water heater The water flows through the flame comes on then it shuts off can you tell me what's wrong?

Having the same issue, happening on the shower also.

What happens if the hot water is not staying at the temperature I set it. The hot water is going to high.

"Sucker" ? What's that. Very informative video with nomenclature that is mostly clear. Just the facts without attitude and acting would be nice.
This has to be the dumbest comment i have seen on youtube. Complaining about attitude and acting?
