Danielle, wife and I just got back to NYC yesterday. stayed at Amish view inn. my kids were not with us due to work obligations. we ate at smokehouse, Hershey farm and Millers. at your direction we checked out the road side stand for pretzels. been there before. there is a pretzel truck at bird in hand bakery off of gibbons road (you went by on your walk ). crazy good pretzels. I mentioned before, keep the vids coming for all of us lanconuts. all our best, Jimmy and Laurie C.
Ohhh! I know what bakery you are talking about now! My friend I was walking with loves that bakery. I will have to go next time I visit ☺️👍. I love getting food suggestions 🤗 so thank you! Hershey Farm is also on my next trip list too! Glad u had a good time!
The decor reminded me of a 90’s funeral home. We visited for breakfast and it was very good. I was blown away by the beverage selection. And the amount of condiments were amusing. The gift shop was great way to waddle down some of the food. We went for dinner as well. It wasn’t my favorite Lancaster buffet, but very good.
The Zooks were twins - I met them in the early 80's while working at local tourist restaurant- the had studio in one of the buildings - they were nice people
Nice! ☺️👍 yes it can be an all day event 🤪 I learned something this past year, if u get to Shady Maple near the end of their breakfast shift, you can have breakfast then go back and just pay the difference for the lunch and stay for lunch too! A great deal 🤩👏

Fun video! Couple things, there is no tipping at Shady Maple but there is a "service charge" of 12%. Pretty reasonable considering all the work keeping the food bays clean and full and your tables clean. Also Asher's chocolates isn't in Lancaster County but close enough, its in Souderton near Norristown.
Oh interesting about Ashers! I knew it sounded familiar but wasn’t positive so thank you for that clarification ☺️👍 And honestly I didn’t even consider the tip info. I knew they didn’t take tips so knew they figured it in to the price …again, didn’t know those specifics so that’s 2 new things I learned today 😄👏🤩👍. Thanks for the info! Oh Elli I Love shady maple. We have been visiting Lancaster every October for the last 25years . Yes we do go to Shady Maple. I loved the story you told about Shady 🍁. We definitely have stood in those long lines. But it sure is worth the wait. Thank you for sharing this with us. Oh wow! What a great month to go every year! So glad you just got to go again 🥰👍☺️👏. I’ve honestly never had to wait more than like 10 minutes to get in BUT we almost always go for lunch during the week and if we go on a Saturday it’s also for lunch, mainly to save money and to get back to York at a decent hour. BUT I learned a lot making this video especially about the deal it is to go for a nice big dinner w steaks, beef and seafood. So the next time we go it will most likely be in the evening. It may be a whole different ball game when it comes to lines then!! When do you usually go? Lunch or dinner ? It is my pleasure to share and I LOVE hearing from fellow Lancaster fans so thank you for commenting!! ☺️🥰😉

I grew up in York, too. I live in Florida now. I left before the smorgasbord opened. It is now on my “must do” list. It is a whole day event.
