Thank You fo taking Szeryng in to YouYube classic. He is one of the 3 greatest violinist after my taste. I have played Paganini-Brams and Sibelius with him,me sitting in the orchestra.

This dudes intonation is unmatched. Manages to play everything in tune and still lowers E at 3:06.

God thanks it’s back on RUclips! Thank you very much. Do you have the Szymanowski Recording with Szeryng? I think it was also with RSO Saarbrücken

Not of this specific one, but Szeryng recorded it with the Philharmonia Orchestra and Sir Alexander Gibson on Philips:

No.7 ?This does notreally sound like Mozart's violin music.I don't hear the opera's wonderful lines as I always do in Mozart's concertante works.Just inspired .Listen to some of the Divertimenti and you realize Mozart isn't always memorable but he is rarely dull as this Music Truly IS!Even the Rondo bored me to tears! The Andante does remind me of some of his other music ?It ain't inspired.Nos.3,4,5 are immediately impressive! Firstplayed in Desden1907.Menuhin recorded it twice! The Andante pizzicatti really make me think this is not really Mozart. The Kolb concerto>?"The two copies differ in some places, and a 37-bar ending in Fuchs' copy corresponds to a short 7-bar ending in the Paris copy: this is seen by some to correspond to Mozart's 1778 statement "If I have time, I shall rearrange some of my violin concertos, and shorten them"
.In what situation did Mozart find himself needing to write something after no.5? This is actually forgettable how did they get Szeryng to learn it ? The genius wrote over 27 piano concerti if you include the Concrt Rondosand almost everyone after 9 is heaven.Even the first 5 arrangements of J.C.Bachshow us that J.C. should be on programmes more. His Sinfonias are really the kind of music most people want ! Mozart stopped composing violin concerti afterno.5 -the Sinfonia Concertante everyone knows is priceless . I'm always hoping to hear a truly another great Mozart violin concerto . It aint out there unless we go to the Divertimenti .The uncharacteristic number of passages for the solo violin in the high register, in pizzicato (in the second movement), and in double stops in tenths were considered by Einstein to be 19th-century additions.

@@swingeasyguy Guess what. This ain't Mozart. Salieri perhaps. Not even the great Szeryng could turn this lead to gold. And if anybody could, he could!

I have to agree. There is a lyricism that is clearly lacking, numerous filler measures, and the inability to employ "harmonizing" moments with the orchestra that Mozart already employed by his 3rd violin concerto, the Jeunehomme, etc. This composition is a drastic step down. Lots of "crutches", no "illusory syncopation", the triplet passages are just shoved in there.

Absolutely agree. The development does not work, it is all over the place and never gets to the point: Mozart don't do it like this. It's not necessarily better or worst, but this is definitely not how he writes.

@@christopheschuwey86 I've listened to some of Mozart's symphonies and I think is boring as hell. They are "all over the place and never gets to the point" as you said.

Povero Mozart!!
