Definitely worth to highline in Switzerland ;-) So many crazy possibilities and we are sessioning almost every weekend... Just come around and join a sesh ^^
this is the absolute joy guys love it, especially hi-fives and one by one diving )) you've made my day, thank you! and thanks for a lot of tips in other videos, they are really helpful nice channel!
Is it an extreme sport? Taking the competitive aspect out of it, is it an extreme "activity" (I have my own definition of what a sport actually is)? I'm not sure. On one hand, so long as your gear is good and you have a leash, you're pretty safe. On the other hand, it has a lot in common with extreme sports: it's scary (I've only highlined twice), it is outdoors based and it is focused on tricks as a means of developing skill and expression. I know most people hate these sort of debates but I love them and would like to hear what anyone else thinks!
The question about extreme sport for us was less concerning the feeling on the line. But about the safety. And how this sport is treated by insurances and how hard it mostly is to get permission because many people think we want to risk our lives. I wanted to raise this question because I had countless discussions with people wanting to prohibit certain spots for us because they are scared that they will have people dying at the spot. However, in the last 7 years there has been no single deadly incident that has been caused directly by highlining... Even though thousands of people are highlining. I want to keep it that way that nobody dies. But I also want to have easier permissions and insurances e.g. for courses...
I think I agree with you here, most extreme sports are pretty safe if done properly. It's not the chance of injury that makes them extreme but rather it's the perceived danger, whether that's height, speed, being underground/water/both, or anything else that puts you in a situation where if you didn't have some form of safety you would be at risk of injury/death.
I would not go much shorter though. The longer the line is, the softer you fall... Go with some experienced people and you will have some good fun ;-) And yeah, our day between the bridges was a blast!! :D
Interesting whats happens if two highline surfers on close parallel lines leash fall over other line on maximus swing? burn and melt second main line or both main line and backup line too?
Heyo!
We mostly rage around Switzerland... Right now in small groups, but hopefully soon in bigger groups again :-) If you highline, simply hit us up when you are around the corner.
As much as car driving is something extreme because one wrong pedal at the wrong time and several people might die. And we do have time to check and double-check our knots when highlining so we do have the choice to only mount the lines when we feel 100% safe.
@@SlacktivityCh couple of days ago I was inside a friends car with 4 other people and he was driving like crazy and all the people in the car were like wohoooing the person meanwhile I was thinking 'Dude this is at least like x1000 times more dangerous statistically compared to highlining'... and I put my seatbelt on haha^^
Yewww!!! What a fun video that was great! Spotted Sebastian a few times and Sam! Hope I can go on a line with so many friends alongside someday
It is a dream to do that!! Just hard to find the perfect spot for it, but if you do, the party is on!!!
What a group!!! Looking forward to session with you guys at some point in Switzerland!!!

one wrong rope or knot and death. so yes, extreme.

Europeans have more freedom than Americans, there's no-way the cops would let you do that on bridges here.
We got sent away too from that spot by the police... But at one point we'll be back to repeat it and making the session even bigger :-)
@@SlacktivityCh Yeah! It looks like a great spot. Is it in Magic Wood? Thanks for the video's, they're great!
@@ih8tusernam3s Nope, it's not magic Wood. It's a place called Versam. Not too far from Magic Wood though...
@@SlacktivityCh It looks beautiful. I was wanting to purchase a few items, do you ship to the US?
@@ih8tusernam3s Yep, on slacktivity.com you can order all you need to the US ;-)
