Feel so lucky to have seen him live with Steely Dan in 1974 and The Doobie Brothers in 1976. His lead guitar on "My Old School," "Bodhisattva" and "Rikki Don't Lose That Number" could not have been bettered by any other player on the planet. Skunk always sounded like he had a ten-year head start on the competition.
A beautiful, well deserved commemorative! Smart, smart, multi talented gifted artist. No one is more hip. Musical artistry is only eclipsed by his contributions to national safety. Hey, I still have a jar full of Manny’s medium picks I bought from 1976. Rudy Pensa then a tech at Alex Music is still in NoHo and Scarsdale. Thanks for the selfie photo at LAX at 6a.m.!!!
His playing on "Living on the fault line" beautiful, I seen him on that tour, sitting down, on stage with half a headphone on, with the best ever Doobie line up.
"Skunk" loved pickled eggs. One day he walked into the mixing booth and raised his leg and ripped the smelliest fart I've ever seen. We couldn't go back in there for an hour! Ole' "Skunk".
I think I saw Steely Dan, Doobie Brothers, and Joe Walsh in the same concert in Portland Oregon. I can't remember what year. It was that good. There were a lot of great bands and concerts back then.
When you misspell "Steely" Dan and say that Skunk was with Jimi Hendrix for a "short time" (he was only with them for ONE show - LOL!)...well, sheesh - GET IT RIGHT!
i went to see steely dan in weaton illinois ,3 of us showed up.the whole show ...so i ask ,'"are you all playin ?ya were playin like the place is full.so we partyed .i was a little leary turnin them on cuz they looked so different .so they played ,wow you guys are the best weardest band ive ever seen
The best Steely Dan was the original. An actual working band, that had several vocalists with far better pipes than Donald Fagen (just sayin') and of course featured the great Jeff Skunk Baxter.
Skunk is a great, great musician & a true American patriot. :) Richard :)

He came on my radar when I saw him play the solo on Reelin' in the Years. Been a fan ever since.
Very cool. The Skunk actually lived in my hometown of Milford Massachusetts when he was playing locally in Boston with Ultimate Spinach.

“The men and women who stand on the wall so that we can do what we do.” What a class act this man is!
He is masterful in the world of Music. His music made MY heart better. (hear his speech) Congratulations to him!

God bless you Jeff!
The man is a legend & a genius
Great guitarist and a patriot

WOW...Lucky You!

Hands down the best mustache in all of music. There’s Skunk Baxter, Tom Selleck, and Sam Elliott. No other mustaches count.
Grande de la música jeff

I cant believe they didnt mention he worked with buzzy linhart
Knew Bobby W. and engineered many of his sessions. Yeah, Skunk's story is very likely true.
Starting out as Jimi Hendrix’ bass player was not a bad start to his career either!

It was great until "Stand on the wall!"
That was the best part!!!
