ODFW and RMEF - Planting Grass for Wildlife with a Helicopter

  • Helping ODFW plant grass seed for wildlife that was donated by RMEF (Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation) with a Helicopter. This is going to benefit Elk, Deer, and upland game.

    Nice job filming this project Jason. I’m a RMEF member is nice to see the work in the field. Hopefully this video helps others to donate to help many species of animals.

    Interesting and very worthwhile series! I hope they will provide some background info or interviews on how they select the land to be seeded, how much was covered, etc. for the Elk Foundation content. Great Job with this and your other volunteer work!

    I noticed how the boarder collie mix herded the chopper in .. 🙂 Thank you for you and the department's good work. It would have been nice to have footage of the chopper from the air dropping seed etc. but likely FAA or rules not allowing it.. pb

      My Australian Shepard loved chasing helicopters when they flew by but he never caught one.

    Thanks. Was very interesting. Had no idea that those things go on. I'm from the east cost. It would have been nice if you were able to get a ride o. The helicopter and get some footage there, too. Maybe next time. Happy trails:-)

    Will the planted grasses out compete cheat grass? Is it possible that the sagebrush biome can return with the introduction of these other grasses?
