I mean, it's an option, and if you get hella good at it, why the heck not? I'm defs gonna get one and practice for the sake of it, plus if you're really bummed out for luck, you can always use stones and pebbles as ammo, don't cost ya a cent any further than the initial purchase to be fair, except perhaps for some maintenance parts and stuff, but yeah that's about it I guess? 🤔🤷♂️ Seems viable for what it is for sure
I love the Simple Shot! I have 2 of the Scout X's with weighted handles, and love em. I agree its a viable option if someone has practiced with em. It takes a bit to be proficient but they can really whack through a piece of plywood! BTW, a foot wide nail magnet (used on construction sites to clean up nails and screws) can recover a good bit of your metal ball bearing ammo.
@@FueltheFiresall for it! Defs need to learn myself on how the fishing aspect of things go as I've only caught a single fish in my life, and that was about 17 years ago 👀
Great video, brother. That was definitely some good shooting. I haven't shot a sling shot in years. It looked like fun. I'm definitely going to have to try it out.
Thanks brother! I can honestly say this was more fun than I can remember in awhile.. Plus I can justify it as a hobby that pertains to survival. Just do it- you’ll love it!
@FueltheFires will do, brother. My grandfather ran a trap line when he was a youngster for money, and he didn't have money for 22 bullets, so he used his sling shot. I have it and his old traps. I'm afraid to use it because I don't want to break it. But I'll definitely get one. Also I don't use his traps because there wasn't a dog safe trap back then.
@@elevatorman7750Wow! That is super cool you got that stuff! I can certainly understand your reasoning there.. These slingshots are super affordable and wayyyy better than anything we had back in the day. Get one and you’ll be happy- I promise 👊🏻
I have just about all the calibers in firearms. But im definitely getting into slingshots. The more you practice the more fun they get. And definitely a must for shtf. Especially if you live close to a town or city. In a shtf situation and looking for small game you don't want to draw attention to your self. Hunt as quietly as you can. And like I said there just plan fun. I use 50 cal led balls in mine. Yeah there heavy but it knocks the crap out of birds and squril.
JJ, why didn't you put in the video where took out your bedroom window? 🤔 is it cuz of the spanking you would have gotten? Lol! Great video! I thoroughly enjoyed it! But as you stated early In the video, homemade or bushcrafted slingshot are so very difficult compared to what you are shooting with all your skills! Highly dangerous and effective; the way you aim with a slingshot is you 'Aim Up Sight' not aim down sight, it is actually a no brainer when you know how, and it definitely can put meat in the pot and lethal as a weapon for defence
once shtf, if you're out and about in daylight you'll be shot in less than a month. Millions of people know how to make a silencer for a 22lr rifle and it will deliver a lethal blow from 125m. you wont hear the shot if you're more than 50 FEET from the gun, if the bolt is held shut and subsonic ammo is used. If you dont bleed out in an hour, the infection/fever will finish you off in a day or so. You dont be functional after a very few hours. Without modern med care, nothing can save you. So you might as well save yourself the agony and eat your gun. Your buddies will do if for you if you dont, to stop your screaming and to take your stuff.

I should stop watching you guys because every time I do I see something else to buy. I my first projectile weapons when I was 5 were a homemade bow and arrows and sling shots made from willow under the the tutelage of my Dad and my best buddy's Boy Scout brother. We also made Sheepherder slings and bolo slings. We were all living on the same ranch just South of Salmon, Idaho on the Lemhi River. We had square miles to play in if our Moms didn't catch us first. All day long we honed our hunting skill on starlings, sparrows and rabbits. The ammo was pea gravel, marbles and fishing weights. Even though I live in town now I think I can set up a range in the back yard. Does the Simple Shot come with an arrow attachment?
Hahaha.. I hear ya..Sounds like my childhood! I haven’t tackled the shepherd’s sling yet though.. Someday soon for sure. As far as the arrow attachment, the Scout “X” doesn’t have one but look at their website as they have lots of models to pick from that are for “serious” slingshotters- and they’re running a pretty serious discount right now..
