I just finished sewing my turtleneck pullover dress ( under knee length) following the instructions of this video and I love it! Thank you so much I am learning from your videos much, you are also so inspiring and have a lovely personality :)
I’m a turtleneck kinda girl! Thank you😄 like all three you made, but was drawn to the striped one and usually not too much on stripes. Thank you again for you and your lovely teaching.
Ouuu. So perfect for the season. I was all day in the woods picking mushrooms. This top would be perfect. My favourite is the peach coloured one. It’s a beautiful colour on you. 👌🏼😊
Hi Alisa. This is perfect to have a go at. I particularly like the pale pink on you. I think I will have a go at this your instructions are so easy to follow and you know once it’s made up it will fit you as it’s made to measure. Thank you for your channel👍 from a rainy grey day in the uk 🇬🇧
Yay! Michelle, here are a few tips for success : 1) there is always extra info in the infobox underneath my videos 2) making a sample, especially when you're starting is always a GREAT way to success and will eliminate the stress and give you the opportunity to problem solve 3) clothes that you have in your closet are a great reference point. Hope this helps! :)
I'm a fan of turtleneck, which means I love all the styles. Have to make time for all the ideas and draftings you teach us, BTW: love the way you teach!😍😍😍
I actually made a velvet stretchy blouse using a pattern cut from a Christmas wrapping paper which you did on one of your tutorials. Got lots of compliments. Thank you. I'm going to try the turtleneck blouse.
😂Oh Alina, I made this big enough to fit Jason Momoa! I'm fixing it, the design is very forgiving but I think my arthritis and my fear of things being too small messed me up. I'm not a newbie but I will ask for help with measurements and try again. I've been giggling about it all day. You sure do inspire. I learned to sew from my grandmother in the 1960s and then I took Home Economics in high school. I don't think that is taught now but it should be to both sexes, so useful. I've sewn off and on all my life as a result. My grandmother and Blanche Gibson my home ed teacher would both be delighted with you.
You'd look great in anything, but I prefer the striped one on you! Can't wait to start drafting this one. Just had to throw out my turtleneck sweaters because they were so worn they were literally see through 😮. It is such a joy for my mind and my wallet, being a member of this channel!!!
Oh yes, I remember that comment - I am like you, If I like something that I have, be it clothes or ANY item - I will hold onto it until you can no longer use it :) I thought you would like the striped one the best, it reminded me of your hoodie! :) I just posted Members Extra (and Instructions sheets as well) - I show some fabrics I got recently that would be perfect for this type of garment - I hope that helps with the choice :)
Oh no! I am actually under the weather today as well (this video was filmed last week), did the leaves turn red/yellow where you live? I find that it cheers up the mood a little bit. I hope you feel better soon! Hugs!
They are all so pretty! I'm getting ready to draft all new patterns for myself. I've lost a significant amount of weight and have only a few things that fit. I'm planning to go back and use your methods and am excited about it.
@@ThoughtfulCreativity you explain and show things so clearly and beautifully! We're in spring here, but I really want to make this - I'll have to find a light stretch fabric. :)
Thank you for this amazing tutorial that breaks the designing into understandable steps! I am looking forward to trying to make some of these for the upcoming cooler weather!
Girl, I have been meaning to message you on IG! Honestly, I just had one thing drop on my head after another one, I have been thinking about possible ideas for a collab, if you're still up for it :) Ahhh, yes, I remember the knits your bought at Abakhan - perfect timing!
@@ThoughtfulCreativity I am definitely still up for a Collab! Very excited to work with you ☺️ Definitely haven't been putting off working with the knits because I'm scared of them...😬
This is so great, I was noticing the red turtle neck top on your background in previous videos and was waiting for this. Thank you so much. Small request, can you pls suggest a design for plus size women? Lots of love from Sri Lanka
I like All Turtlenecks 😃 This is another Great tutorial! I do have a couple of question…@8:55 you mentioned about yardage needed??? Do you have a video on that? How to determine how much fabric is needed for a project? 😊😉 If it’s already here. Can anyone pop it in the Reply? Thank you!
1) as mentioned in the video - make a pattern first and then measure the pattern to determine how much fabric you need 2) if you ever wonder about a video on a particular topic - please go to my channel page and video tab, all videos are there and you will be able to find them a lot faster than waiting for a reply to a comment.
Long story short - I am self-taught. In my tutorials I combine information that I have learned and absorbed from a variety of resources: European, Russian and American drafting methods + some of my own discoveries. I buy, collect and study college fashion design/technology books, as well as additional literature from a variety of sources. I also have some additional art education that I received back in high school and that's what helped me understand the human body from the point of view of proportions (which are often used in Russian pattern drafting). Most of all - practice. Practice is one thing that is needed to connect theory with desired result. :) whew, that was a long one :)
Which one you like best - red, peach or striped one?
Unlike them all but the red or striped ones really stand out.
Love the red!
The red one! But you look beautiful with all of them.
Everything looks beautiful on you, but the black and white one looks so cozy for a cold winter day
Peach
I came here for the sewing, but your personality is so endearing. I love watching your videos they are comforting as well as informative. 💕

Thank you so much, I am just trying to show people that they can do it and create beautiful/useful things for themselves.

This is going to be the one I finally try as a complete newbie to sewing clothes. Thank you!

What kind of cutting board is that? Where can I get one? Have link?? Ty love this
It's by Fiskars. Anything 24x36 inches by Fiskars, Okfa, Clover will be good.
