444 Miles of Pure Motorcycle Riding / Camping Heaven - MOTORCYCLE CAMPING

- We’ve learned a lot about motorcycle tent camping and a slower pace of travel as we wound our way up the Natchez Trace Parkway. Initially, we had our reservations about this route - was it slow and boring or smooth and peaceful? Well, there’s a little of both - but truly it’s a route to decompress, slow down and just glide along on a history strewn ride that brings the past alive. We found that sometimes it’s great to travel at a slower pace, that the journey is just as important as the destination; where our everyday stresses melt away and disappear.
Overall, the Natchez Trace Parkway - this little linear park - far exceeded our expectations and in our fast-paced world we all live in, is much needed from time to time.
With so much history and the slower pace of travel on the Natchez Trace Parkway, we finally wind our way to its end in Nashville, Tennessee. Whether you want to ride the entire parkway in a single day or 2 days or more - there’s something peaceful and magical about the Trace that begs you to slow down, breath deep and take a little time for yourself.

I am so glad you got Alice Back. I love my Harley....
I used to travel the Natchez Trace Parkway in the late ‘60’s, early ‘70’s, so this takes me back. Always beautiful there!
Thank you for sharing your trip.
Thanks for watching!
I watch Itchy Boots, Polska Kinga from the Other Bike and now you. I wish I could go back in time to enjoy your lifestyle. At 78, I just trailer to areas and enjoy the dirt and sites of the Cascades and Olympics. Stay safe👍
Thank you cheers
I love the Natchez Trace I went all way down from Kentucky to the end. I loved it ,we had a great time.
I love y’all tent camping 🏕 no trailer even. awesome.
..cool video keep up the great content.. Thank you…
Love all ypur videos
My wife and I were on the Trace the 1st week of July. Must have just missed yall!
Cool ride dudes, way out …very gnarly …Shazam!
#1Let the adventure begin!! 🛵💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨💨
Allwrighty.. you've done did it this time.. You've jess called the King's name.. Can't do no wrong, no more..;-) Roll on!
Thank you for the videos you put out. They are very educational with beautiful scenery in the mix of places that a lot of us might never get to see. Enjoy them a lot.
You are very welcome. I hope we can continue to do this for a while. Cheers.
You two make it look so fun I'm sitting here contemplating who can keep my dogs for a week. It's such a beautiful highway and looks smooth.
🤓interesting area 😎🏍💨💨💨💨👍🏻🇨🇦🥂
Love Natchez Trace it is a true beauty. 👍🏻❤️
👍👍
Added another ride to the list. We’ve done pieces, but start to finish while ⛺️ camping! May be a good late fall trip! Nice job. Stay safe
Yes for sure fall or spring for this
Thinking the same.
Love to follow your path ✨ ❤ 🙏 💕
Love all the stops, and info/history you share. As you know Texas has thousands of historical markers along the roads, and I always want to stop at them all…
I know it’s easy to stop and not make your planed camping
Y’all continue, -as from the beginning, to put out quality, educational, and entertaining content. Rays of sunshine every week.
Chin up wheels down always. Don’t let the bed bugs bite🤠
The mesh jacket is great. Keeps the sun off you and allows the breeze in. Safe travels.
Yes it does. Thanks
Motorcycle camping sure looks like a lot of work🤯
That's part of the fun & appeal.
I do find that 400+ plus days in the saddle, make setting a tent camp unappealing, frequently.
One of my favorite roads, because I live right next to it !! Ride it almost daily. I have camped at Rocky Springs, Jeff Busby and Meriwether Lewis !! Always an awesome ride, peaceful scenic and tons of history !! Thank for showcasing this 2 wheel jewel, be safe
Yup, now I want to take a week to travel the Natchez Trace, and check out every little bit of history along the way!!! Very cool video folks!!!
Thanks for the lengthy ride. I took the short ride and now I know I missed a lot. The Elvis home was a good miss. One room, back door, front door, pictures, the end.!! 👍👍🏍🏍🏍🙋♂️
Awesome saved $35
Great video! “Then he died” 🤣🤣
Beautiful ride! Thanks for "taking us along"
My favorite ride of all especially on my smaller bikes
Awesome !!
What a perfect route to take and take your time to see the sights and history that the “Trace” has to offer.
Enjoyed. Trace is fun and ya learn so much.
A little container of powder to put in the boots works wonders and keeps the feet dry. Stay safe.
really neat. i to love history. i hated it in school, but after going to Turkey, and Europe, history popped!! now i like learning about the little things you don't learn in schools. Natchez Trace Trail is one of those snippets of history of America you don't hear enough about. great video. would be nice to see your cook set up, i am still in the practice zone.
Will do I’ll work on make a video on what we cook with
I really enjoyed the Trace in our slide-in truck camper many years ago. Also, enjoyed your video on the Trace. Thank you so much.
You’re welcome thanks for being here every week Betty Jo
Great photography and music mix. Cool roads. Chin up wheels down.
Thanks Edd. Thanks from being with us every week. Cheers
Greetings from Kentucky .
Greetings!
Awesome memories. I grew up on the Natchez Trace Parkway and always heard about it, never really enjoyed it like you. This is now on my short list. Another amazing video.
Bamboo socks, no more sour toes 🤗🤗
Great video again guys, looks like a beautiful place to ride
your riding in some of my favorite places. leapers fork near Nashville is pretty cool.
Enjoyable and fun!
Loved this! Cool music on the Old Trace... 🙂
Good video. I have ridden the Trace numerous times, and there is a lot of interesting history there.
Hint: for foot and boot issues...buy some bamboo socks. It wicks, comfy and resists bacteria, so less offensive smells. That's all I use on my MC rides! (Yes many things are now made from the normal bamboo cane; even some furniture!)
I enjoy you both. Good Rides
Great series, love the beautiful parkway and history - thanks for sharing!
At 20:45...how they stayed cool in that little hotbox ?
Tall ceilings let heat rise above their heads + vents in each floor & an operable roof / upper eave vents.
By electrification, prob 1880-1915 depending upon location, the upstairs attic fan would "suck" cold air in lower open windows, making a pretty effective thermal dump circuit.
Also, many Southern homes had an initial "Breezeway" lower floor & cots could be set up in Breezeway to catch a breeze as heat rose & main house cooled.
They'd also site carefully for nearby trees to give AM or PM shade.
Believe if or not, they - those who COULD build to a high standard - did have very decent dwellings.
But the # of homes per acre was limited obviously.
Great video Chris & Rich. You are so creative with your video’s. I sure enjoyed it. What a great adventure & such a cool place to explore.
Thanks! Another ride I must take! ✌🏻🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Yes do. And thanks Bernie for being here every week.
One of those dirt roads I took for the trace ended by crossing a creek. The trail sloped downward around a curve and I didn't see the creek until I was there. Being on a Suzuki GS850G completely rigged out with fairing, bags, and trunk, I had little choice but to cross it. I studied the rocks under the water for a bit and planned my path. My dirt bike experience came in handy. Popped it in gear, released the brake, stood up and powered across the creek. It was supposed to be an easy trail. I don't trust those signs anymore.
Thanks for the ride along and video
Just a note. Changing the oil in your shocks makes them ride like new again. That is what all the youtubers say when they change their shock oil. Im going to do mine this fall.
Enjoyed your video on the trace very much. Will have to put that one on the list. You guys seem very relaxed. We are headed to the Windy 9 in SE Ohio next week. Ride safe.
Staying at Two Wheels Of Suches for a week think I will head up that way ✌🏻
At 02:50 if temps allow, wear max gear.
I was deer hit 🎯 2 + weeks ago at 45mph.
Helmet saved my head + gloves boots helped.
But light clothing didn't help on asphalt.
In the South the heat in summer makes riders not wear crash gear.
About riding gear. Someone told me, Plan for the ride, Dress for the crash. Also I take cedar shoe trees. I have my social responsibilities 😁
Love your channel.
Best
Those dry bags are great travel companions .I got one from Walmart for 15 bucks .great purchase.
Neat to see the trace in your videos ... I went done it right after the Georgia rally...
Keep the rubber side down!!
🙏🙏
So much history we loved it.
The Gordon House is about 15 miles from my home. Sorry I missed you. I am glad you enjoyed the NTP. I love it!
Any plans on getting another Bushtec trailer?
Cool trip. Thanks for taking me along. Should have been on beamers though.

So cool, The Trace looks awesome. Especially loved the 360 camera work when you were riding on the trace itself. Congratulations to Chris on not over packing 😂😆😂
Thanks
A little Febreze goes a long way in boots and helmets
They had fans before electricity.........don't you remember those little Japanese hand fans we had as kids? LOL
Hi Chris...the most effective way to kill foot odor is to rub your toes with Vicks/eucalyptus rub...yes the same chest rub for colds and coughs....it kills foot odor and prevent nail and toe fungus (fungi) from between the toes....apply at bedtime and before shoeing in the mornings.....please say hi to Jim...and continue to enjoy the Big Ride on 2-Wheels....
Dryer sheets for the boots. One sheet per boot and each sheet will last about a week. One pack doesn't take up much room for travel.
Great tips
My wife and I rode the trace last April on our Can Am Spyder. We only rode about 100miles a day. We stopped at most all the stops and visited some of the towns along. We love it? And we missed the trace when we had to detour.
I agree, just using the parkway as a road to get to a destination is very boring. I get so sleepy. FYI, the blackbelt is much more visible during the winter months. Especially if the land has been plowed. I sure hope y'all didn't miss Te lah nay's wall near the Alabama/Tennessee line. It is an amazing stop. If you did miss it then check out my video of it on my channel. It's pretty amazing.
The old world of America has some very interesting places with good historical information, Old world America is East of the Mississippi River, the New world America is the west or west of the same river and there is indeed many places of value and information as well.
Thanks.
You have the exact same size container of potato salad that I just bought at Aldi in my town. Wow. Cosmic.
🤔👍
When you crossed over the Tenn-Tom waterway, just to the north is Bay Springs dam.. just to the west of the dam is Mackey’s Rec Area. My 3rd great uncles are buried there on the banks of Mackey Creek. Both fought in the Civil War with the 26th Mississippi Infanty. Capt James Files Gresham survived the war and went on to be a State Representative for Mississippi.. he his buried next to his brother who died in Russleville KY protecting President Jefferson Davis. President Davis ordered his body to be take back to Mackey’s Creek for his life saving sacrifice..
Thanks for the history.
I rode the Natchez in 2021, and unfortunately many things were closed. If you get the chance, get off the Parkway and stop off at 3 Girls Burgers & Fries in Centerville, TN. Hometown of Minnie Pearl. Good food, good stop. Also, another point of interest is Vicksburg for the USS Cairo, Ironclad warship.
You passed right by my house in Natchez. I live a block off Main St.
👍👍
The Revzilla Get On ADV Fest just ended. I purchased a 40 liter Nelson Riggs dry bag and when I told the NR gentleman that I did so due to your positive reviews he made a short promo video that you may see. Hope it helps y’all.
Right on. Thanks Ed I saw something from Kyle ( Nelson Rigg) yes it does help. Thanks Again
We have a group of friends in Nashville and The Tail of the Dragon this week. It would be cool if you could meet up with our Minnesota friends.
Hello, nice job on the Natchez Trace video as always. Sorry if I missed it in another video, but why did you two decide to go back to tent camping?
Able to get by on lower expenses and more popular with viewers.
Have followed y’all for awhile now but especially this ride series. I’ve ridden the trace and y’all have shown me places I missed soooooo looks like another trip is in store. Love how y’all incorporate the history with the beautiful scenery and details of the camping…by the way, where did you get that long map? I need one…Never saw one of those before. Great video (as usual) 🏍❤️
Richard, I suggest touching base with Legends in Sturgis. I'm sure they would be thrilled to do a long term test with the type of riding you guys do! A sponsorship deal?? Can't hurt to ask, right?? Good Luck, as always!! 👍👍
Yes that would be awesome but I have reached out to @ledgendsuspensions and they say they are not looking for any brand ambassadors.
@@TwoWheelsBigLife Too bad! I think the type of riding you do would be right up Legends ally.
Hey what GoPro sticks do you guys use
great vid, the water bottle holder on the Harley side bag what brand is it and how does it mount
I’m cheap it’s just a bicycle water bottle holder. Mounted on that saddle bag.
CHRIS IS RIGHT, JUST RIDING IT GETS A LIL BORING WHICH IS WHAT WE DID BEING WE HAD LIMITED TIME TO RIDE IN A WEEKEND. I'D LOVE TO GO BACK IN THE FALL AND EXPERIENCE THE CHANGING OF THE LEAVES.
The roughest part to tent camping on a motorcycle (aside from where to put all the gear) is you usually are packing up everyday rain or shine.
Yes we found it to easy this time around.
If you get up early, you're packing a damp tent every day.
Hey Rich. Try wilbers ? .maybe MDB can hook u up ! On point
Looks like a beautiful ride. B I t why is it called a trace rather than a road, trail or parkway?
I often bring a sanitizing spray for my boots. Spray every night.
How many days did y'all spend on the Trace?
Great idea. Total we spent 4 days and nights.
I wish I had of video taped our adventures. I can't believe how similar you 2 are to me and dianne she was a new rider when we met in 05 never ever been on a bike let alone ride one now she is pushing a million kms
I suffered a stroke in 2019 so my riding days are over so enjoy this while you can. I'm only 62 so don't think it can't happen
So did ya'll recognize that the mile marker there around the gate in Nashvillie, TN, was 442? Wonder what happen to the other 2 miles? Also where was the part you could ride on? I missed that part when i rode it.
What 360 camera do you use?
The next time you’re at a Harley dealership, please let your wife demo a Softail Deluxe. I would love to know her opinion. I have picked up she is not a Harley fan. Bet she will be surprised. Thanks for a great videos.
She is a fan. It’s all about riding positions for her
Hello
Love your videos.
How do you hang that cooler on your left side saddlebag area?
I was riding the park one day in my pickup I seen y'all riding down the road I live alone the parkway not far from it may be 5 or 6 miles
I love your videos and your apparent love for one another.
In Oct. I will be traveling from Marietta, Ohio to CMA Iron Mountain in Mena. AR. On my trip home I want to stop in Hot Springs then take the Natchez Trail home. I will be traveling on a Honda GW trike, pulling a Kwik Kamp King camper. Are there any places on the Trace that I should avoid with a trike?
Chris, do you have the windshield extension because of helmet buffeting? Does it help?
Nothing like waking up to two pair of water proof boots in the morning.
Gack! I have seriously considered drilling holes in my Forma Adv boots. Who needs water proof in New Mexico?
Travel on
Gotta love those Kevlar t-shirts. 🤣
Yep
Just Wondering If You Got Rid Of Both BMW Bikes Like Vids Though
🙋🏻♂️
Hola Miguel
I grew up in Houston ms. bout 45 min. Other side of tupelo ms.
RICH, WHAT CAM DID YOU GO WITH ON YOUR ROAD GLIDE?
they put a 255 cam she's no hot rod but it really opened her up.
My neighbor insists, for camping, comparatively speaking, it's better to put my weight on the bike (which means camping on the ground).. better stability, braking, cornering, everything. I don't want to sleep on the ground and i want to bring along other comforts. I am almost certain i want to get the Mini Mate so that I would be towing the absolute least and that would assuredly be the easiest. You never complained about Ruby, but she was a far cry larger than a Mini Mate. I believe my neighbor is wrong. I know my Milwaukee Eight would not have any problem. My neighbor seems to think that trailer weight is the wurst thing in the world, bringing about so many handling and braking issues.
So close to me. Would have loved to meet and greet!
So how many days to ride ?
