youtube algorithm is half of the battle brother, also you are right about the shorts, they seems to reach more people. Iv have watched a guy on twitch for 4yrs now and omce he started to do tic tok and shorts he gained so many more subs/views. the wording on the video titles also help alot with algorithm I heard.
The quality of your production is impressive. You deserve a bigger audience. I enjoy watching you ride around, especially the little history lessons. I found more people watch my videos about motorcycling than my videos where I'm actually riding (especially off-road), but I like making the riding videos. I look forward to seeing your videos from your trip back east.
Yeah seems that way, your video of the three things nobody tells you did really well. I was thinking of a concept like this and make it into a riding video, combining both of them.
“I blame it on Trudeau” made me literally laugh out loud. Say it louder for the people in the back! 😂 Also, I’m a huge fan of your editing. The memes are hilarious! I’m inspired. I was stuck at 300 subscribers for over a year or so, but I noticed as soon as I stated adding a million tags my subscriber count started growing. I use everything from “Moto touring” to, “how to ride a motorcycle” to “building a chopper”. 😅 They may not thaaat accurate, but it seems to bring in more viewers and subscribers for me. I’m envious that your shorts do so well, mine usually get 1,000 views max. Happy riding, and I’m looking forward to next weeks video.
Million tags, I'm going to try this now. The shorts I make aren't the greatest, but I'm just trying to be funny with them, it's really odd some of them sky rocket to like 9k and then some do like 400 then sit idle for 2 days then take off, it's really weird. Then one I had only like 10 impressions...feels so random. Thank you for the kind words.
Hard to not get discouraged, been at this youtube thing for over a year and a half now and still sitting below 1000subs, maybe its cause i dont do the shorts shit. Keep it up!!! The payoff will be there eventually
Hey man.. You just have to keep posting content. Keep posting and keep posting and keep posting. Eventually SOMETHING will happen and you'll gain traction. Do your longform content and chop it up into shorts to double dip on your efforts and to drive people into your channel more. post post post post post post post
RUclips algorithm can be a pain in the ass, if you post those shorts to tiktok and insta you can drive some more traffic to your channel. Cross platforming and steady content will help you grow, the first subs 1000 are the hardest
Everyone starts somewhere. I'll tell ya this. From someone whose main channel has over 200k subs. Once you get to the money earning level you'll make more with 100 long form video's than those 10,000 shorts views. Shorts don't pay. Evergreen long form will pay for years. So you might only make a little on release but you'll keep make a little each month so it's a long term project. Though "personality" based content doesn't have much evergreen lifespan.
It shows a month with creating longer videos. You may have many short YT videos and may get higher views. The shorts will drive that highway; be it a short from your longer video, or just throwing out a hello and doing a burnout on a bike. Progress is made through dedication and stability and that vision on the prize. Wait till you realize after several years of success, that your mind actually battled your self-worth to doubt yourself.
I feel your pain bro. Been in it for a while myself and stopped trying after a few years. Now I just post when I want to but hope to get back into it soon. Check out some of my guitar performances if you like rock music. Just subbed to you.
Just came across this video in suggestions. Just to maybe help from my experiences on multiple channels. If you want to keep the maximum momentum up it seems you have to upload no longer than every three days. It can get exhausting.
@@WhiteLineRambler So what I see a lot of people do is post a long video, and then over the week, make shorts from the long video. I think that seems to keep the RUclipss happy. The reason I say 3 days is because it seems after 3, you don't get near the traffic from youtube suggested videos etc. We did one a week for a year once and that was insane to me.
@@WhiteLineRambler I don't think it hurts anything personally. When you do the shorts, be sure to add the link to the full video. If the short interests them, they will go to the full. Then you win win in those situations.

Dig it, Greg! Kudos for putting this out...giving me some much needed inspo to add to my own channel.
