Playing for 14 years now and jazz for 2 years.. this is one of the most useful tutorial styles I've seen. Thanks Stijn!! All the best from the Netherlands
This video is just incredible. It is like a magician revealing his tricks, except that these are lessons that apply to so many standards. After a few hundred hours of practice of course. Thanks for sharing.
As other have said, your vids are the best! I'm so tired of YT cliches (ex., injections of 'funny' content, fancy editing, etc.) rampant in other videos.. You're above the rest.
Truly amazing -- really helpful examples, and the PDFs from your website are a great added bonus! You are very generous to post this. I am looking forward to using these ideas to learn this piece and apply the ideas to other standards. Thank you Stijn Wauters!
Great Video clip! Forgive me for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you thought about - Riddleagan Smart Hands Remedy (do a google search)? It is a smashing one of a kind product for learning piano fast minus the headache. Ive heard some decent things about it and my work buddy finally got great success with it.
Wow, I am a saxphone player (beginner for improvisation) but this piano play is one of the most complete and useful score about how to improvise All The Things You Are! I now understand the basic essense of the improvisation! Thank you for sharing!
This is so awesome. I'm listening, over and over, hoping to retain something. Thanks so much for doing this. I love your playing, and ideas for improv, too!
Incredibly helpful. Those annotations you did are so detailed and helpful! It finally showed me what most videos dont: how to play with a band! So thankful you broke that down so easily!
I am coming from a classical perspective (Juilliard doctorate) and found your tutorial incredibly helpful. Not overly complicated, but clear and insightful. Finally after 15 years of feeling like I couldn’t learn the language - your video has inspired me to dig in. Thanks!
wow, such a great tutorial, how do you not have more than 2k+ subscribers, such a great rendition, tasty voicings, I think you just need to put the word out more! Keep doing what you're doing, learned so much from your videos.
Thank you for another great piano jazz lesson! I must say, I have learned more from your tutorials than any of the others. Thank you again for all that you do!
Bravo, really good video. You’ve hit upon a great style for RUclips, I’ve got no doubt if you keep this up you’ll get more and more subscribers. Well done. I’m looking forward to the next one. Thanks.
I really love this tune All the Things you are and I love how you play this (along with th sheet music), so much appreciated, thank you, your th best (and I love th no talking)😍
This is honestly an incredible resource! I have been repeatedly pouring over this and find my understanding growing each time through. Do you have a patreon or some other way to support your work? It seems almost criminal that you're giving all this away for free (though I'm not complaining!)
Hi, Thank you very much! Here is the link to the pdf: bit.ly/2U94uup, and here is the link to the pdf with annotations: bit.ly/37w2GP6 Enjoy the sheet music!
Great and comprehensive lesson! Thanks a lot! But... it sounds really great with the background track, however without it I will have to enhance your voicing somewhat. Thanks anyway!
Thank you! It's true that these rootless LH voicings sound best with a bass player, but you could use them for solo piano playing as well, although you could add some bassnotes (for exemple root on the first beat, and voicing on the third beat). But the open voicings (with the root) are usually very suitable for playing solo piano. Give it a try.. :-)
Hello your channel is awesome ! CAn you tell me were to start as a piano beginner-intermediate ? i'm a jazz guitarist. This one seems cool but maybe you have easier lesson ? Thanks a lot

Thanks a lot! Glad you like the video!
You're a great player and a great educator. Your renditions always contain a lot of musicality which is the most important factor in my opinion.
Thanks a lot! It can be difficult indeed to find the right balance between theory and musicality. Jazz education can become too academic sometimes..!
