The first film not having the most known big bad villain in it but teasing it at the end reminded of the ending of “Batman Begins” with the Joker card at the end. Part of the reason why I liked this film, it was refreshing not to have the Shredder front and center for once.
I had a feeling they were gonna do something like this because the turtles without the shredder at some point is like a Batman franchise without the Joker at some point.
I'm glad this franchise continues to renew itself. I loved it as a kid, and while I haven't been involved in it anywhere near as much as I used to, I see it as great that newer generations get to have fun with it as I did.
You think there could be a scene where is Cynthia Ultron take some of her species DNA put it in a test tube and create cane will be a secondary villain who is going to work with shredder to take down the ninja turtles in the sequel
I this is the only movie I’ve watched where I didn’t die from cringe of them saying sus, rizz or saying popular culture references and just that alone gives this movie a 10/10
I think Splinter being a regular rat led to him being more of a father than previous iterations, which led to some of my favorite moments. BUT, excluding the Hamato Yoshi backstory does feel like the movie is missing an integral piece of the TMNT DNA
I have a theory, in the movie splinter has a cut on his right lower ear so what if splinter was a pet to hamato yoshi but was killed by the shredder causing splinter to attack and have a cut on his ear(like in the original) so what if when he attacked shredder, and shredder throws him across the room making him lose his memory so he doesn’t remember being a pet of a martial artist

This movie actually exceeded my expectations I absolutely loved it. I’m 17 and dealing with a lot of stuff rn but watching this I felt like I was 10 again no stress or anything I forgot all my problems it was the best.
Also theory, it does seem like it skipped past some of splinters story and only explained his story of becoming a father. So I think there will be some stuff he hasn’t told to his kids yet which might involve splinter
i feel that man i felt the same way when watching it i went on my me day by myself and it’s the first time i’ve felt like a kid in a long time glad you got the same experience
In the sequel I could see them using the other mutants in the sewer as an example of how ruthless shredder is. As in he kills a few of them which then causes Beebop and Rocksteady to leave but also puts pressure on the turtles relationship
As much as I did love this movie as a newer TMNT fan some of the mutants like Mondo Gecko, Wingnut, and RAY FILLLEEETT I feel like we’re charming enough to stay as good guys but having Bebop, Rocksteady, and Leatherhead good just felt out of character like they should remain bad guys. Hell Bebop still has the turtle shell shoulder pads which always signified that he was a turtle hunter
I loved this movie. I wish that some of the villains were expanded on a bit more and wish the turtles origins were slightly different but other than that I don’t have complaints besides minor nitpicks. I loved all the anime references and I hope Casey Jones is in the sequel because I feel his character could work really well with the direction the first one went.

I really hope that in a sequel that shredder can find a way to manipulate the other mutants like bebop and rocksteady because that could show that shredder will be more than just a henchman
My biggest issue with this film is the origin. I wish they went the 87 origin but I would have been fine with the 84 origin. And if they wanted they could have done what they did in the film, but he was originally a pet but after his master death he became a normal street rat who was a martial arts master and do that not the book
I love that the humans respect the turtles and the other mutants because they were freaks and the humans were scared and now they are now they’re good with the turtles and live them

I loved TMNT 2007, the Leo vs Raphael fight was one of the best hand to hand animated fights I’ve seen. I loved how the turtles were actually strong unlike the new one where they are just really scronny.

I love that shredder is like a bounty hunter like Kraven the hunter it just feels more terrifying and intimidating against someone who actually has better ninja fighting skills sorta like avengers vs thanos 🤩❤️
Loved the movie. There was some scenes I didn’t care for or story setup, rocksteady and Beebop living with the turtles now (they were main villains I watched growing up lol). Splinter freeing the kids from being milked, was a great sequence (reminded me of Jackie Chan fighting in his old movies, since he voiced splinter)
Shini joined the Foot Clan when she was 10 years old and on her first day she met Karai. They were assigned to be sparring partners and that lead to them eventually becoming best friends.
The most insane thing about this movie is the fact that there’s an actual kill count. Splinter legit kills a guy. What I think they could do with the villains in movie 2 is being in someone like Tiger Claw or Karai. Maybe Shredder doesn’t work for the Utrom. Maybe he’s a bounty hunter they know of or something like that? Idk. Also, what if some of the mutants turn on the Turtles for a “better life” that shredder could promise them.
I feel once shredder is involved they will turn to shredder’s side and BeepBop & Rocksteady are at odds because they have a relationship with the turtles but now they are against them due to personal differences that sides them with Shredder
Imagine this: Bebop & Rocksteady start to have resentment towards the Turtles. The Turtles are above ground, enjoying there lives among humans, that Bebop & Rocksteady leave the lair @ nite & have a run in with the Shredder. The Shredder promises them a better life and they kidnap Splinter when the Turtles are out 🤔
I have been a tmnt for a long time and I see different takes of the characters but this movie right here definitely had me emotional in a good way I enjoy the movie and can't wait to see more tmnt stuff, especially Mutant Mayhem
Ngl i dont think shredder is gonna be treated like a henchman. I think hes gonna be treated like a hitman in a way where shredder is given a task to get the turtles with his army the footclan. Kinda like how they treated dr. Eggman in the first sonic movie
Well, if The Mutant Mayhem series is running out of villians...They can always bring back classic villians from 1987, 2003 and 2012. Villians like: 1] Dogpound 2] Tokka 3] Fish Face 4] Spider-bytez 5] Snakeweed 6] Spy-roach And many villians that appeared from those Great iterations!

Honestly, as a Ninja Turtles fan this really knocks it out of the park for me. Ive been waiting for a new Ninja Turtles movie for a while now, but this may have been the best movie since the 1990 live action and the 2007 CGI movie
I feel like what they’re going to do is built them up and then have them return to the regular old turtles in the the shadows same thing with Peter at the end of no way home how he’s now a street level hero and no one knows about him
This is a great movie as my family and I say it yesterday. We loved the brothers interaction and how the bad guys as well. Gecko was great and Splinter was amazing with the voice of Jackie Chan. We cannot wait for the TV show and then the sequel with the Shredder.
I trust them with shredder purely due to that scene with superfly and the turtles in that party place that makes him come off super intense , also the action scenes were great
Commenting before finishing the video because I'll totally forget, but I wanted to say as someone in martial arts, I recognized a lot of videos similar to what our taekwondo studios do for students and they release at home practice sessions, follow along instructionals, and full on step by step lessons. In the clips of the turtles and splinter watching it did show more than just movies, they were also watching different classes and lessons and from the looks of it multiple different martial arts as well. So I guess my point is they didn't do much just learn from watching movies and TV but actually followed lessons which go at least through the ATA where I train, you can start online with white belt basics all the way up through black belt training (can't achieve getting the belts but you can learn to do everything) Every time we test for our next belt, I jump on RUclips and find out what my next form is going to be and try to get a jump start on learning it before I get into the studio 😅 I thought it was cool they learned that way honestly because that's what I do before I get into my actual class
I think like you said in the video some of the other mutants may get persuaded to go against the Turtles as they would probably have very boring lives down in the sewer BUT I don’t think it would be all of them
Hopefully we get casey jones in the next movie. And maybe he doesnt trust them at first but then goes on to vibe with Raph on the hockey (or another sports) team or sum and then becomes their ally. They were always an underated duo that i enjoyed since their personalities are very similar.
It would be cool to see them be the older more experienced more classic looking turtles later on and having that emotional connection with them. Its really cool
I wonder who would voice Shredder,I think either Tony Leung or Micheal B Jordan would be great Shredders,I can imagine Idris Elba as Shredder but I don't think it'll happen due to him being attached to the Sonic franchise
The *only* thing I hate about the movie is the Hamato Yoshi erasure once again and the way they learn ninjutsu, like that's two big film iterations in a row where Splinter has no ties to him. Like I understand why he couldn't be Yoshi here since this Splinter hates and fears and doesn't understand humans, but why couldn't Splinter be Yoshi's pet? It wouldn't be too big of a deal if the Turtles weren't going up against *real* ninjas constantly, and I guess there's no other ninjas in this movie (unlike the Bay movies) so it doesn't matter, but like someone like Shredder, who's teased, going up against a kid who learned to use swords on RUclips is a joke. (It would definitely add to Splinter's loneliness and fear of other people, and it makes it so much more emotional when the first people he's met since his master's death who don't hate him, who love him, are his new son's. BUT, then again, he could've never told his son's about Yoshi so they never questioned him about humans being evil and stuff; and the RUclips and movie stuff was just a clever trick to get his son's invested in their learning but truthfully he knew it already because his former owner was a ninja.

They could add that supposedly after the Shredder killed his master, Hamato Yoshi, he gets on a boat and then gets off when he gets to NYC I feel that could be a option on him getting from Japan to NYC
I started my love of the turtles in 87 with cartoon. Ive seen all the shows and movies and Ive read most of the comics. I really like this iteration. Im not sure how the new tv show will turn out but im excited to see what comes with the sequels
Chris I think for the villains, they’ll eventually end of having differences and split up again and go right back to their ways, and I mean since super fly was someone they grew up with they could end up feeling betrayed again and cause them to go back bad.
What I don’t like about the turtles being accepted in society is that they will be expected to be normal people in society and I’m not looking forward to hearing Mikey say “Damn, Bro wish I could fight the foot clan but I gotta do these taxes.”
About the origins bit, i was hoping/expecting they would eventually reveal that Splinter lied about how he learned martial arts, like maybe they could have given Superfly and Splinter some kind of history

I just watched the movie twice and I'm gonna be honest this and Rise are probably my favorite entries in the turtles franchise from Nickelodeon. The things that I liked: 1. It's a street level comic book movie. Personally I find that refreshing to watch every now and then. This is also why I love the choice of not having the shredder in this until that post credit scene. 2. I love how this is not just a story about family but also a story of acceptance. And 3. The action scenes. There is only one thing I didn't like which is the fact that I want more from this world. My only hopes for the paramount+ series is doesn't get treated as just a build up to the sequel.
I was really happy everyone lived to see the end of the film. I got worried for a second there when supafly was smacking them around so badly. My biggest problem with the film was best shown in the first 5 minutes or so with those long awkward bits of dialogue explaining what was going on instead of showing it.
I absolutely left this theatre so in love with this film. The girl with the last name utrom, every tiny easter egg just planted in there, the love for this franchise that Seth Rogen has is insane. I trusted Seth from the beginning, and he definitely delivered. I could not be any more hopeful for an actually well recieved TMNT movie timeline.

It does felt similar to Rise Of The TMNT where the Turtles did watch some kung fu movies particularly Lujitsu movies but there is a reason why because Splinter in that’s series IS Lou Jitsu who IS Hamato Yoshi but decided to leave the Hamato clan just overcome the loss of his mother
tmnt 2 could even show us the brothers splitting up. a big argument could do down and they go their own ways and focus on themselves and maybe take a break from the ninja life, and work on their teenage aspect, like drivers ed, studying for school exams, etc.
Next Movie Hypothesis: TCRI/Shredder starts collecting individual mutants over time. Some of them are adults and may no longer being living with Turtles so its not noticed. TCRI develops mind control technology or Shredder convinces at least two of them to help him. Maybe Shredder makes it so society turns on mutants again. Turtles have to redone thier masks to save thier friends and keep fellow students out of danger. The head of TCRI defintely Crain or will become Crain. She's wearing the glasses the robot suite wore from original cartoon.
As someone who’s a fan of the 2003 turtles I was hoping we’d get a version of Stockman like that in this film especially with Giancarlo Esposito playing him. So the fact he got killed off in the first 5-6 minutes was a little disappointing.
WHY would Donnie be in High School?- He would be at grad school if he's that big of a genius. He attended an undergrad university virtually/ write-in during the 87 show.
i think introducing casie being like a "I'm waaaayy cooler than these turtle dorks" and a love triangle between April and leo would be funny background comedy
5:37 Justcholey4131, a love triangle is between 3 people, not two, but when Shredder comes in the sequel, with his right hand woman Karai, she will betrayed Shredder, team up with The Turtles and finally fall in love with Leo while April falls in love with Casey, because Leo's stupid crush on April reminded me of Donnie's crush on her in 2012's TMNT and that was pretty cringe for me, but I annoyed it because Leo is my favorite turtle and he should only with Karai, because they're rivals, they're ninjas and they used the same weapons Katanas, also you have seen both 2003 and 2012's TMNT, because their relationship is brilliant in both shows, same as April and Casey's relationship, so I hope this will happen in the sequels and the TV series, but besides that, I love everything else with the film, the animation amazing, the voice acting brilliant especially with Jackie Chan as Splinter, and I can't wait for the sequels and the TV series.
If you go back and watch that training scene carefully again you will notice that it is never actually said that they are learning martial arts from kung fu movies. The way the movie excerpts and videos are cut into the scene suddenly lets people make that decision on their own actually. What we do see is splinter teaching them stances and the turtles rehearsing them and a bunch of intercuts of movies. What I draw out of this is that splinter made the decision to teach them in martial arts starting with the above ground experience and we are never taught how exactly he knows about the martial arts. That may be something to tackle in the sequel then for example.
The turtles learning everything from movies feels like a reflection on a generation that learns how to do everything from RUclips.

They can always add it in later. They kept it vague enough for things to be added in. Also I don't think Splinter was just a "Normal Rat" in this one

I think a sequel to Batman vs TMNT should be a definite. The first one was so good! Lots of room to expand!
I expect Shredder to be the one who betrays The Krang this time, like a swapped version of what happened in the Michael Bay movie.

I saw this movie and I loved the teenager aspect because I’m a teenager and I can relate.
Well, if The Mutant Mayhem series is running out of villians...They can always bring back classic villians from 1987, 2003 and 2012. Villians like:
1] Dogpound
2] Tokka
3] Fish Face
4] Spider-bytez
5] Snakeweed
6] Spy-roach
And many villians that appeared from those Great iterations!

Honestly, as a Ninja Turtles fan this really knocks it out of the park for me. Ive been waiting for a new Ninja Turtles movie for a while now, but this may have been the best movie since the 1990 live action and the 2007 CGI movie

This is a great movie as my family and I say it yesterday. We loved the brothers interaction and how the bad guys as well. Gecko was great and Splinter was amazing with the voice of Jackie Chan. We cannot wait for the TV show and then the sequel with the Shredder.
I trust them with shredder purely due to that scene with superfly and the turtles in that party place that makes him come off super intense , also the action scenes were great

Commenting before finishing the video because I'll totally forget, but I wanted to say as someone in martial arts, I recognized a lot of videos similar to what our taekwondo studios do for students and they release at home practice sessions, follow along instructionals, and full on step by step lessons. In the clips of the turtles and splinter watching it did show more than just movies, they were also watching different classes and lessons and from the looks of it multiple different martial arts as well. So I guess my point is they didn't do much just learn from watching movies and TV but actually followed lessons which go at least through the ATA where I train, you can start online with white belt basics all the way up through black belt training (can't achieve getting the belts but you can learn to do everything)
Every time we test for our next belt, I jump on RUclips and find out what my next form is going to be and try to get a jump start on learning it before I get into the studio 😅

I think like you said in the video some of the other mutants may get persuaded to go against the Turtles as they would probably have very boring lives down in the sewer BUT I don’t think it would be all of them
As soon as I saw Cynthia Utrom I knew she was part of the Kraang because of her design.
Hopefully we get casey jones in the next movie. And maybe he doesnt trust them at first but then goes on to vibe with Raph on the hockey (or another sports) team or sum and then becomes their ally. They were always an underated duo that i enjoyed since their personalities are very similar.
Easily the funniest part of the movie is when superfly grabs Donnie and he says “now he’s Molly whopping me” while he stomping Donnie out😂😂

The *only* thing I hate about the movie is the Hamato Yoshi erasure once again and the way they learn ninjutsu, like that's two big film iterations in a row where Splinter has no ties to him. Like I understand why he couldn't be Yoshi here since this Splinter hates and fears and doesn't understand humans, but why couldn't Splinter be Yoshi's pet? It wouldn't be too big of a deal if the Turtles weren't going up against *real* ninjas constantly, and I guess there's no other ninjas in this movie (unlike the Bay movies) so it doesn't matter, but like someone like Shredder, who's teased, going up against a kid who learned to use swords on RUclips is a joke. (It would definitely add to Splinter's loneliness and fear of other people, and it makes it so much more emotional when the first people he's met since his master's death who don't hate him, who love him, are his new son's. BUT, then again, he could've never told his son's about Yoshi so they never questioned him about humans being evil and stuff; and the RUclips and movie stuff was just a clever trick to get his son's invested in their learning but truthfully he knew it already because his former owner was a ninja.

I think Splinter probably had SOME experience mimicking Hamato Yoshi and probably had a past life in Japan that he just didn’t mention so that they could focus more on that stuff and the foot clan in a sequel

I started my love of the turtles in 87 with cartoon. Ive seen all the shows and movies and Ive read most of the comics. I really like this iteration. Im not sure how the new tv show will turn out but im excited to see what comes with the sequels

Chris I think for the villains, they’ll eventually end of having differences and split up again and go right back to their ways, and I mean since super fly was someone they grew up with they could end up feeling betrayed again and cause them to go back bad.

I Could See Rat King Being A Villain For The TV Show
About the origins bit, i was hoping/expecting they would eventually reveal that Splinter lied about how he learned martial arts, like maybe they could have given Superfly and Splinter some kind of history
People saying "I can't believe they're using modern slang" as if part of the reason Ninja Turtles is so big TOTALLY isn't from them using all the slang from the 80's. Are they always gonna be using 80's slang?

I was shocked they only had Stockman in like the first 5-10 minutes, especially with how big of a celebrity his actor is
I just watched the movie twice and I'm gonna be honest this and Rise are probably my favorite entries in the turtles franchise from Nickelodeon.
The things that I liked:
1. It's a street level comic book movie. Personally I find that refreshing to watch every now and then. This is also why I love the choice of not having the shredder in this until that post credit scene.
2. I love how this is not just a story about family but also a story of acceptance.
And 3. The action scenes.
There is only one thing I didn't like which is the fact that I want more from this world. My only hopes for the paramount+ series is doesn't get treated as just a build up to the sequel.
I was really happy everyone lived to see the end of the film. I got worried for a second there when supafly was smacking them around so badly. My biggest problem with the film was best shown in the first 5 minutes or so with those long awkward bits of dialogue explaining what was going on instead of showing it.
I absolutely left this theatre so in love with this film. The girl with the last name utrom, every tiny easter egg just planted in there, the love for this franchise that Seth Rogen has is insane. I trusted Seth from the beginning, and he definitely delivered. I could not be any more hopeful for an actually well recieved TMNT movie timeline.
I think Splinter being a regular rat led to him being more of a father than previous iterations, which led to some of my favorite moments. BUT, excluding the Hamato Yoshi backstory does feel like the movie is missing an integral piece
What if they go with the 2003 version of shredder where he is also a utram, ch'rell and thats why hes working for cynthia utram who will probably be a utram.
Guess what? The version where Splinter used to be a rat mimicking his owner's moves is how it was in the comics.

It does felt similar to Rise Of The TMNT where the Turtles did watch some kung fu movies particularly Lujitsu movies but there is a reason why because Splinter in that’s series IS Lou Jitsu who IS Hamato Yoshi but decided to leave the Hamato clan just overcome the loss of his mother

tmnt 2 could even show us the brothers splitting up. a big argument could do down and they go their own ways and focus on themselves and maybe take a break from the ninja life, and work on their teenage aspect, like drivers ed, studying for school exams, etc.
I feel that could be involved with the series than the movie because the sequel is obviously them going against the Shredder
Next Movie Hypothesis: TCRI/Shredder starts collecting individual mutants over time. Some of them are adults and may no longer being living with Turtles so its not noticed. TCRI develops mind control technology or Shredder convinces at least two of them to help him. Maybe Shredder makes it so society turns on mutants again. Turtles have to redone thier masks to save thier friends and keep fellow students out of danger.
The head of TCRI defintely Crain or will become Crain. She's wearing the glasses the robot suite wore from original cartoon.
As someone who’s a fan of the 2003 turtles I was hoping we’d get a version of Stockman like that in this film especially with Giancarlo Esposito playing him. So the fact he got killed off in the first 5-6 minutes was a little disappointing.
WHY would Donnie be in High School?- He would be at grad school if he's that big of a genius. He attended an undergrad university virtually/ write-in during the 87 show.

5:37 Justcholey4131, a love triangle is between 3 people, not two, but when Shredder comes in the sequel, with his right hand woman Karai, she will betrayed Shredder, team up with The Turtles and finally fall in love with Leo while April falls in love with Casey, because Leo's stupid crush on April reminded me of Donnie's crush on her in 2012's TMNT and that was pretty cringe for me, but I annoyed it because Leo is my favorite turtle and he should only with Karai, because they're rivals, they're ninjas and they used the same weapons Katanas, also you have seen both 2003 and 2012's TMNT, because their relationship is brilliant in both shows, same as April and Casey's relationship, so I hope this will happen in the sequels and the TV series, but besides that, I love everything else with the film, the animation amazing, the voice acting brilliant especially with Jackie Chan as Splinter, and I can't wait for the sequels and the TV series.

If you go back and watch that training scene carefully again you will notice that it is never actually said that they are learning martial arts from kung fu movies. The way the movie excerpts and videos are cut into the scene suddenly lets people make that decision on their own actually. What we do see is splinter teaching them stances and the turtles rehearsing them and a bunch of intercuts of movies. What I draw out of this is that splinter made the decision to teach them in martial arts starting with the above ground experience and we are never taught how exactly he knows about the martial arts. That may be something to tackle in the sequel then for example.
