Do you just decide to cut the top a little longer than the thickness of your fingers when working on establishing your guide? My son’s hair is grown out a lot on top because I’m afraid to cut too much but I know I need to if I want to achieve this nice cut and style. I have a similar build to you. Should I just start a good guide by first cutting off the long hair on top just above my fingers when picking up the hair off of his head at first
