I live in Ena! If anyone goes, I recommend checking out Akechi, the entire town is made up of Taisho-era architecture. Sagami is a pretty good traditional Japanese place, Sushi-ko has some of the best sushi I've ever eaten and Nan house has incredible curry.
Loved exploring Ena in May 2023...and enjoyed staying at Ichikawa Ryokan, and visiting the museum and gallery. A beautiful place to visit...and, I'm sure, live.
I always love your content. I wish I will have more time to visit these less crowded areas in Japan in the future. I want to try the Nakasendo trail from Magome to Tsumago. I tasted Hida beef in Takayama last year and it was so delicious. I want to eat it again.😢
Awesome!! What an awesome side trip...perfect if you're travelling with kids, solo or with a friend/spouse. That Ryokan looked amazing. Perfect mix of things to see, good food to eat...and a good chunk of outside time. ...and sake is making me thirsty 😀. Another great video Matt!
Hi team, Thanks for sharing ! Questions : where do we get the map like you show us in the video ? At the station ? And timetable for the bus and train and whatnot like you share in the video, can we find it like at a Welcome Center for people who don't speak Japanese ? Thank you !
good photography, and good host - but can we go even one second with loud annoying sound clips? I mean, even playing music while the host is talking! What - your music guy blackmailing you or something?

Well it would seem I’m off to Ena … hopefully soon. Thankyou
Thank you all for sharing! Bravo!
would love to visit that Hiroshige Museum of Art. always been fascinated with the astounding detail of the art for that time.

Thank you so much for your nice comment!
I enjoyed Hiroshige Museum of Art a lot more than all other Ukiyo-e museums I visited.🌊

Love it. Makes me want to go there!
Yay, love me some lesser known parts of the country every time!
Beautifully shot!
Thank you so much!
Loved it. Looks like i'll be following your footsteps.
Honestly, Ena does not seem very interesting to me, but I appreciate you showing off some lesser known places as well!

Just a production tip guys: I would've liked to have heard more local sounds of the scenes and less music. Beautiful drone shots.
👍👍
No Charly?😢😢😢
Are Matt Evans and Sam Evans related? 😅
When I heard the name, I also first thought: What? He's back, but something isn't quite right. Well, it wasn't the correct name. :)
